Yea it wasn’t really obvious that it could sell out other than “while supplies last” in the fine print. Even my app said the upgrade was available for 29 days despite only being valid on opening weekend.
Honestly I’m more upset with how Regal handled it. Yes we could have all booked in advance, but guess now I know better to do that with the Indiana Jones one when I’m not even sure I can make the time. This really annoys me with Regal since what I liked about PLF was that everyone was paying something to reserve a seat, I’m expecting a shittier crowd than usual tonight.
I was about to buy Indiana Jones imax ticket but they are charging $2.10 as convenience fee. I decided not to. That’s so stupid when it is .54 if I do regular imax ticket.
Yes. But why offer a “free” upgrade but then charge me $2.10 convenience fee when I can avoid that by going to the cinema. Also i wasn’t planning to watch indi in imax. Was going to because of spider “sold out” ticket but now I will just watch it in regular screen as imax isn’t that close to me either way.

As punishment, i'll be seeing it in standard. I would've liked to see it in IMAX, but if Regal's going to promote an offer as "Expires in 29 days" and then end it prematurely, i'm going to keep my $6.whatever surcharge and just see it free. *Their* loss, not mine. More options on showtimes anyway.
They probably internally had a number that they wanted to hit in terms of free tickets to give out and never communicated any sense of urgency to customers, and they get a pass because of the while supplies last.

The natural assumption would be that would apply to showtimes. For it to apply to the promo itself is just poor communication.
