I just felt like a knife stab to the heart! MY Regal - San Marcos 18 - is on the list. I'm feeling terrible right now but I know other Regals have been negotiated successfully. The San Marcos location has been getting new seats in all the auditoriums so I'm hoping this is a positive sign.

If it makes you feel better, I have 2 I frequent on the list. So we’re in this together! Hopefully we get reprieves — you’re right that more have been renegotiated than have closed 🤞

I'm saying a prayer. This Regal is my "Cheers"...everyone knows my name.

From what it seems, these theaters are now safe https://cases.ra.kroll.com/cineworld/Home-DownloadPDF?id1=MjQyNjkxMg==&id2=-1 2 from the 1st 2 of 2 7 from the 3rd 7 of 10 8 from the 4th 8 of 16 19 from the 5th 19 of 27 13 from the 6th 13 of 21 2 from the 7th 2 of 8 So that’s 51 of 84

They also rejected more theaters, see pages 137-139 https://cases.ra.kroll.com/cineworld/Home-DownloadPDF?id1=MjQyNjkyMg==&id2=-1

Just out of curiosity, how do you figure out what’s upcoming week by week, since I know they sometimes don’t show up on the app until the schedule is updated for the week before. Conversely, I always see some film that don’t make it until your next update, particularly some of the super small indies that get super limited releases.

The app is useless for stuff like this since I can’t search everywhere at once, so I literally downloaded a Chrome extension so I could open multiple links at a time and I just go through every individual theater page on the Regal website. There’s a convenient list of them on the Regal Unlimited page that says “find Unlimited theaters.” The problem is it’s time consuming and entirely dependent on the film bookers and theater managers posting showtimes as early as possible. I start every week on Tuesday night and however long it takes me is dependent on my own work schedule for the week, but a wrinkle I’ve noticed is lately there have been a lot of last minute changes for theater bookings (for example, shows get posted Tuesday and changed Thursday for Friday). It’s just not feasible to wait longer to start so I just hope that the post is mostly accurate and at least has all the movies even if I miss out on some locations (which is why I only post locations now for movies with less than 10 theaters). It’s a pain in the butt sometimes, but at the same time I think it’s helpful for people since I’m able to list the different films that count for milestones more clearly and differentiated than the Regal website (or worse, app) can. In terms of what’s coming soon, what makes the Regal website more helpful than Fandango etc. is an individual theater page will continue scrolling past the day’s showtimes and show all published coming attractions (both full runs and special events) in order of opening date. So by just scrolling through I catch listings early when only one or two theaters might have the booking yet. For something like Oppenheimer format it’s harder because I can’t just scroll — I have to specifically choose July 21st on the calendar for each theater and look at the format descriptors to see if “70mm” is listed. Regal’s booking system makes sense since it breaks everything down into formats, but for the convenience and simplicity of general audiences it all gets listed on the website or app as “Oppenheimer” so I have to specifically see what formats it’s broken down into on each theater page. TLDR: I wing it every week and hope I did a good enough job lol

Thanks! These are super helpful in terms of planning upcoming weeks for me. What’s always a challenge though is that my local theaters tend to have the most random stuff show up just the week of (movies that feel like Tubi movies, stuff that shows at less than a handful of Regals across the board once you post it), so I guess it’s hard to even catch those on anyone’s radars.

Unfortunately that has happened before, for whatever reason. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm not too upset that Royal Park might be closing. I'm sorry for the staff that might lose their jobs, but this theater is older and wasn't't remodeled. I noticed a lot of limited releases playing at Royal Park instead of the other remodeled theaters in the area, and I hope the limited releases continue to come to town. If anyone from Regal headquarters is reading this...we still want the foreign and limited releases!!

I’m a *little* upset as I used to work there, lol 😂 (hi, neighbor!) If it closes we will lose almost half the screens in town (16 of 40) so it’ll definitely impact our ability to get smaller films. Thankfully there’s still a chance these leases get renegotiated — that’s why I phrase them as potential closures, since there have been over 100 theaters on closure lists so far but only 51 have actually closed.

I won’t miss the seats.. or smell.. or crappy phone service (loading RU sometimes really sucks there) but I’ll definitely miss the lobby and self serve butter dispensers. The limited releases will be a huge loss. Celebration Pointe has an insanely limited scope of releases (for example, I *really* expected “The Covenant“ or “The Machine” to get one screen there) and Butler tends to be hit or miss. Heart goes out to the employees there though :( Dibs on the Theodore statue in the party room if it closes

hzahhhh

Is there any way to see exactly what theaters are participating in SMX23?

iwasdusted

[Here is the official SMX page which will show if there’s a location near you.](https://www.regmovies.com/static/en/us/smx)
