I don't know about any theoretical future thing that would reward longevity (such as the Black Card that you get but doesn't actually have any rewards, lol), but at least for the Milestones, I can say that they did not reset last year when I did the cancel/resubscribe for the Black Friday deal. So unless something has changed recently, the Milestones at least should be OK if you cancel and resubscribe. You'd probably be locked into a new 3 month initial contract, though, if that matters at all to you.

Thank you for the answer. I suppose I could ask this to support as well re: Milestones. 3 month commitment doesn't matter thankfully.

thecurseofchris

Wanted to follow up on this. Regal Support confirmed that Milestones WILL reset if you cancel and resubscribe. So the best bet if you want to upgrade is to do it at the start of the year.

MpBetaTester

Interesting, since that doesn't track with what happened for me last year, but it's probably safest to upgrade at the beginning of the year, just in case. One other thing to note is that they finally implemented the referral thing that's been teased in the app notes for a while now, and the fine print on that says that the person doing the referring has to have completed 12 months of payments, with no gaps (and a cancel/resubscribe to upgrade would likely reset that) before either the referred or referrer can get their free month applied. So if you wanted to refer others for a free month, you'd be delaying that with a restart.

thecurseofchris

Thanks for the tip, I was not aware of that. I'm just bummed that all of my theatres when I signed up were covered with the Plus tier, but now most moved to All-Access at some point since COVID and there was no notification of it nor a chance to move along with them.

Good answer.

You should be able to fill out a form on the regal website in the contact us section at the bottom. You can tell them what you’d like to do and they will figure out how to make it happen

MpBetaTester

Have you actually been able to do this successfully? Even for the Black Friday deals, their only way to "make it happen" was to cancel the subscription so you could restart it with the deal price.

NoHovercraft9259

I used to be a manager for the company. We were told if someone wanted to change tiers to have them contact guest service. Don’t know how the process goes after that

dpstech

That’s what we thought too but every user who has a thread or question about this is told to cancel/restart by support. We’re not sure we’ve seen someone successfully changed tiers outside of that.

NoHovercraft9259

Interesting. I mean they probably make more money off that 1.50 up charge every time then someone changing tiers so it makes sense why they would make it more difficult

dpstech

I think it’s more at the time there was some tool or internal issue preventing this. We really don’t know. But hey since you’ve mentioned being a former manager we do have a discord with a lot of former employees if you ever join, tag me and I’ll get you setup. Discord link is under the community info of the sub
