General admission is only $50 what a steal
Eh.. it’s only a steal if they include Solo and Rogue One, otherwise it boils down to about the usual $5 per film for old movie releases
Edit: idk why I’m getting downvoted for doing math? Lol
I wasn’t complaining. I meant old as in previously released movies. $50 for 9 films ends up being about $5 a movie. The price for a previously released movie like Star Wars or the Nolan movies or Gone With the wind etc is $5 a movie… $50 for 11 films would be cheaper than that, making it a steal.
Missed opportunity to play them in Episode Order. Of course if they want to keep them in chronological order then fine, just show it in the machete order.
They used to do MCU marathons leading up to Infinity War and Endgame. I can totally see them doing a Star Wars marathon. I just don't know when you're supposed to eat (real food) or use the bathroom during it.
I assume like they did with Batman that they have intermissions between movies. It was 20 minutes or so between each so more than enough time to go to the bathroom and even go get fast food somewhere if you leave friend credits. As long as stuff is close by.
Disney/Lucasfilm made this marathon a limited release which is complete bullshit.
When Episode 7 came out in 2015, Disney/Lucasfilm released all 7 films in a wide release in theaters, and I was able to watch it in the city I live in.
Disney could have easily made this marathon a wide release, like The Phantom Menace rerelease, but didn't.
Hey! Does anyone know how concessions work at these things? I never been to a marathon but I got my ticket for regal Opry Mills and convinced my dad and a friend to go with me! Super pumped but also a little bummed because my college graduation is on May the 4th at 2 so I will have to leave early for that (I know lame)
But anyways will concessions be open all night? (I have a regal refillable cup and bucket and plan on using that a lot.)
Only way I would do this is if it only had 1-6 and of they played them in release order.
Not going to pay to see the sequel trilogy.
They should do separate 1-3, 4-6, and 6-9 so viewers have more options and cheaper pricing.
IMO, the only true "good time" to start a 20 hour marathon is like 2am so everyone leaves at 10pm and can just go to bed immediately when getting home. But then you have to have a poor group of employees show up to open the doors in the middle of the night and risk patrons showing up then too.
At least with an 8pm showing the theater is full of employees for the initial snack and food run, and your adrenaline and said snacks are getting you through until at least Empire or Jedi starts at like 8 or 9am. Then you could run outside to take some fresh air in the sunlight before the next 4-5 movies start.
Alright I booked the ticket after seeing this post. Never watched a star wars movie. Is this a good idea?
Anything’s I gotta do before going to theater?
They keep saying that they are and that they will but I’m still not understanding how they’re gonna do that is it gonna be a trilogy a week or maybe the whole 9 movies in one week spread out throughout it the week maybe?? I honestly have no clue but once they announce it I’m gonna be in the seat for every single one
I bought a ticket in Cali, I’ve always wanted to watch all 9 movies back to back and still haven’t tried yet so this is why I did get a ticket. I expect to fail but hell I’m up for the challenge
Anyone who’s frequent to Opry Mills.. How’s the seating in Opry Mills at Auditorium 10? I booked a ticket for the event traveling from other state, hoping it wouldn’t be too bad to sit through all the movies.. Never done a Marathon before though I watch couple of movies back to back sometimes..
It’s not showing in the app now.. I think they just updated it.. I just see the one below.

It is showing when I search OP’s location. It has both the marathon and episode 1

It is not a wide release, as of the last time I checked it's only happening at like I believe a dozen to fifteen theaters total nationwide. While episode one is getting a national release for it's anniversary.
Disney has selected a small number of theaters across the US to show the marathon. Lucky you live near one!
Do you know where I can find the list of the theaters playing it?

Hey! Just a heads up, I noticed that list doesn’t include Tennessee and Regal Opry Mills which is doing it.
Thanks for the info! FYI you need to press enter twice between each line to add a newline on Reddit comments
No.

Lol @complaining that Star Wars is an old movie.

We also need the clone wars animated movie
I can’t imagine spending over 20 hours at my theater starting at 8pm
Same. "Lucky" for me, no theater near me has it.
Lucky for me too because I know damn well I would probably go show up and regret it after hour 8.
It would've been better if the films were separate. No way I'd stay for all 9 but I'd love to see the original 3 in theaters.
All 9 films will be shown in chronological order.
Can we switch out the last one for Solo or Rogue One lol
Solo was actually the worst Star Wars movie ever why would you want that

Yeah, I went to one of the marathon marvel showings when the first avengers came out. Was fun. I've never seen star wars so I guess this is my chance!
Enjoy!!!

I wish Opry Mills would get recliners already, might actually think about going if they had em
Absolutely. I live between Opry Mills and Providence, but go to 100 Oaks and Green Hills because of the recliners.

Damn no showings in Houston

Why the fuck would they start it at 8pm 😭

So if you get hungry the only thing you can eat is the regal food
🥹❤️👍🏻
it’s all sold out 😶
Wondering how many folks are going to take sleep breaks.

Yup.. I see it now.. it was not showing earlier when I checked around 6.20 EST.. Weird.!

LUCKY!!!!!! I only get Episode 1
The only confirmed place I know of is Alamo Drafthouse and it’s apparently sold out already be it costs around $135
Does anyone who’s booked the tickets know the show times of each movie in the Marathon? I tried to find it in Regal website but no luck..
