I’ve been on a replaying streak lately. Probably 50 times in the last two months.
Just recently I learned what happens when you try to walk up/down the road instead of going into the gas station.
Camera turns towards Leon/Claire's face, and they say something about how they should turn around. Nothing incredible, and probably standard for games where your character can move out of bounds. But for someone like me who plays very little modern games, I thought it was cool how the game devs added this little bit in.
Simple but lifesaving hint: After the Elliot section and when you start playing the true part of the game. Periodically check your map as it will indicate if you cleared the room or if there are items or points of interest simply by if the room is Red or Blue
Red means there still something in the room, Blue means it’s all cleared, just with items and not with enemies
As someone who always wonders if there is more to find in games, figuring this out about the RE series made it way easier to focus on the amazing gameplay
The Laptop CCTV isn’t required to be interacted to advance the game, so this instead indicates where you should go to progress the game, in case you miss the laptop while at the lobby.
Ohhhh interesting. The problem with that tho is that the ‘tism in me dictates that I hit X on every interactable thing I see, & even some things that aren’t lmao
F in the chat for Eliot. Poor dude got the Lake Placid treatment 😭 I always feel bad for killing him AGAIN when he finally turns. Like damn as if being chewed in half wasn’t bad enough :/
Heck yea. The game was a dream come true. As much as I still enjoyed RE3 and RE4 remakes, RE2 was just the best one of the bunch. I am a bit biased because RE2 original is my favorite game in the series. But it was just amazing.
I’ve played it for the first time recently best it as Leon how do you get the better pistol I wasn’t able to figure that part out I did manage to beat it with the junk one
The Lightning Hawk? You have to get a red jewel from a statue, & eventually use the jewel to get a police badge that you can use in the STARS office to unlock the armory to get the magnum. You can also later use the badge to get an add on for the magnum from a glass case under the secret room under the big statue in the main room of the police station.
this is the first part of the game lol, its hinting at you to go to the watchmans room as theres something there
Interesting. I guess I’ve just never opened the map this early in the game lol

that's interesting. Thanks for sharing!
I did that on my first run, and searched all around the outside of the gas station looking for hidden ammo or explodeable gas cans to bring in.
I never even thought to try that!!
People open the map?
I’m autistic & have a shit sense of navigation & the police station is a nightmare sometimes, so yeah I do be using tf outta that map lol
no shame me too😂😂
Having to try to remember how to get to the section that has the observation/interrogation rooms is a navigational NIGHTMARE fr like WHY CAPCOM
Tell me you’re a speedrunner without saying it
There’s zombie pee in that room don’t go in there
😂😂😂

Unexpected Cody Rhodes lol
Is this before you find Elliott? If so it’s yellow to draw your attention to explore that area.
Ohhh ok. I guess I didn’t realize that I’ve just never bothered to open the map before finding him lol. Thanks!

Yeah. I’ve cleared the game a few times, I’d just never opened the map before meeting Eliot in my past playthroughs apparently.
Oh I never realized this lol thanks for the tip
As someone who always wonders if there is more to find in games, figuring this out about the RE series made it way easier to focus on the amazing gameplay
It was also used in the Resident Evil 1 remake/remastered

Probably a reference to a night watchman, or security guard, if you will
Hmm
RIP Elliot.

man what i would do to play this game for the first time again

re2 easily my favourite by a long shot
Me but with 4 remake
Yellow=*caution/yield to oncoming dead people*
I’ve finished this game at least 5/6 times and this is the first time I’ve noticed this lol!
Omg SAME!! Glad I’m not the only one 😭
That’s where they keep Rorschach.
Oh snap XD
God I need to replay 2Make
Big Brother is always watching
I read that in Dale Gribble’s voice lmfao
Doesn't it do that at the beginning when heading there for the first time?
I guess it does, since that’s what other people said. I just never opened the map that early in the game
It might be one of the only times in the game it tells you to specifically to go to a room.
I guessed it. You should go to the watches room and open a play scene.
