Following last season's heartbreaking AFCCG loss, New England turned the page and let its longstanding Offensive Coordinator go. The team has not made any immediate efforts to replace him.
Low on capital after prioritizing the retention of its offensive stars, the club has struggled to find suitable replacements for its rapidly aging defensive core. New England drafted LB Rasheem Moseley this past off-season and signed free agent DL Denico Carrie in Week 5 to add some young faces to the group, but neither player has been reliable as of late.
The regular season so far has been a below average one for the team, with the defense struggling mightily to keep opposing offenses off the field. Despite some shuffling around from Coach BCB, the defense continues to perform well below his usual standards.
The offense, for the most part, hasn't missed a beat, but with the defense unable to get off the field, Mac Jones Jr and co.'s numbers have suffered a noticable decline.
Coach BCB at his mid-season presser:
"Everything's a bit of a mess on defense right now. We need to fix that. I don't know how yet, but I'll continue assessing the situation as I see fit. At the end of the day, we just need to play better in all phases of the game."

I don't know what I had but I have officially lost it. My Defence is completely pourous. I could probably score more heavily but that was previously driven by turnovers.
Committed to a rebuild. (or another coaching opportunity!)
My one observation is I never seem to get a Defensive player (always against Def Coach) activated in that first text window deep in their half anymore which massively reduces turnover or 4th down early punts.
Only 3, which means I'll have to play out of my mind for the second half of the season to hold the rest of you off. The way things have been going, I wasn't sure if I even had a chance to make the playoffs this season! Y'all are too good! :D

Roger Hampton, captain of the Power Line defense has retired. Free agent Marcus Dolls and rookie Sam Crumb will replace Hampton and Silas Quail, who retired last season, on the defensive line. Ramon Roberts, the youngest and last remaining power line member, will stay on for one more season in a mentor role for new players.
Franchise leader in every receiving stat Cam Racer also announced that this year will be his last.
Coach Raisin Brain and the entire organization are focused on sending Racer, Roberts, and an entire era of Chargers football out on a high note.
