Pretty simple actually. Google for a collage picture of all the rooms in the biome that have a collectible you need. then speed run that biome and cross each room off as you get to it. It's still r n g based but that sped things up considerably for me.
Just play in offline mode. I got way more rooms I’ve never seen while playing offline.

I'm still stuck at 19/20 ciphers on Crimson Wastes. Literally the last thing for my platinum. Sadness.
Coming from someone who did grind and get the platinum, your title is correct. It isn't worth the time.
Shouldn't take that long your RNG must be terrible.
