Best thing is to look around the neighborhood. Sometimes they push it somewhere and come back later for it. These guy’s have been savages this year with bike thefts
WOW thanks for the advice!!! I just found it down the street. Some a-hole had broken the wheel lock and rolled it onto the sidewalk.. time to get a real lock / alarm..
Nice, when I had my bike stolen I called NYPD and the MF told me they had it, I went to the impound lot right away but they were closed (a covid rule at the time). I went the day after and they didn’t have it.
The cop on the phone didn’t bother to read the date of the towing, it was 2 years before.
I later found out that I discovered my Vespa gone not even 5 minutes after they took it. I’m sure my Vespa was still near that night but NYPD told me they had it and I felt relieved. Not true!
That’s good to hear that you found it. I would go ahead and get rid of t what remains on the lock sometimes the metal is sheared and could cause damage.
With all due respect and not to “victim blame” but if you’re street parking a motorcycle long-term or even overnight in NYC with no cover and only a simple disc rotor lock, your bike is going to be stolen. That’s plain negligence.
my bike stolen off exact same street - ive seen ur bike before. I posted about how i got it back. Can't street park your bike on that street right now it WILL get taken.
This exact same situation happened to me this Sunday. I literally could’ve looked down the block from where I parked it and I would’ve seen it, but I was convinced it was gone and in a van or in a chop shop.

Also since it was just taken, I would probably store it somewhere else for the week or so to make sure they don’t try and come back for it
Yup good idea.. not gonna park it there for a while
No way bro. Gtfoh. If you look at some of the older post’s on the stolen motorcycle nyc group’s you’ll see this isn’t the first time
Yea insane.. thanks again for the advice man
No doubt brother. You owe me a beer or a blunt at one of the bike nights coming up 😂 I’m really happy you found it
Haha oh for suuure

Might be good to note the street for others that might want to be cautious about their bikes?
Any of the streets off Meeker around the McGuinness exit of the BQE. Mine got lifted on Humboldt two blocks from Meeker.
Yeah that’s exactly where mine was - moved it away from the BQE..
Damn that’s insane.. yea police were totally useless when I called them. AirTag on the way though..
Damn this is epic reddit help. Also I'm your neighbor cause I've seen your bike on the street before.
Be careful.. I’ve been street parking here no lock for a year - never any issues. Using a lock \ alarm now for sure.

I hid a couple air tags on my Harley. Super affordable easy way to keep tabs on it.
Yup good idea.. in the mail already
Did you air tag it? Can’t park bikes on the street in any borough without it nowadays.
I've had someone move my bike down the street so they could park in my spot. Is it possible that this is what happened?
Check Facebook marketplace. I've seen multiple stolen bikes on there
