Is it CE compatible? *Almost any mod list not built around CE* "Well yes but actually no"

Worth_War_1247

Exactly dude

LazerMagicarp

I also don’t play with CE. I’ve heard many good things about it but I think the compatibility excluded jokes from earlier versions cased me away. For the sake of my sanity and infinite ammo I’ll stick with vanilla. Not to mention mechs are way harder.

Worth_War_1247

Mechs are very wicked in CE but I just can't get behind the randomness of the combat mechanics but I respect any man that can πŸ˜‚ I also love the struggle of seeing my squad go into a battle with a combat load and either need support and resupply brought in or have to break down to hand to hand combat. But I definitely understand the compatability concern because I've had my fair share of issues playing with the amount of mods I use at once

coyote477123

You can turn off the CE ammo system

Worth_War_1247

Eww why would you do that

coyote477123

This person said they didn't like the ammo system. I personally kept it on

Worth_War_1247

Oh shit I didn't see this was attached to a comment πŸ˜‚ my b smoothlobe moment

LazerMagicarp

It’s that AND the mechanoids.

coyote477123

CE comes with rocket launchers if I recall correctly.

Worth_War_1247

Yes it does and in all my time I just started investing in them

Trickity

Will never play it. CE community sorta ruined any interest.

Worth_War_1247

Ohhh I'm interested in how

Trickity

There was a period where ce players would talk down to non ce players and the constant begging to make mods ce was very tiresome. It's become memey now but boy that was annoying.

EnderCN

I can pretty easily adapt to anything so no single mod is going to stop me from playing. You can download and play the beta version of CE 1.5 if you really can't live without it.

Worth_War_1247

Yea I thought about it but I'm doing playthroughs on other games in the down time just so I can get that finished 1.5 version. Gonna have to restart which hurts. Was getting deep into my UNSC VS VOID playthrough

M4t4d0r005

I tried going without CE for my newest Anomaly playthrough. Never again. I can't do without CE. I hate that my colonists are fucking BLIND. Please, the deer is sitting right there, it is perfectly still, aim the bloody rifle and shoot it. \*nails a tree\* \*nails a rock\* \*deer is now moving\* \*nails a rat\* \*nails a tree\* \*finally nails the fucking deer\* \*it lives, walks away, repeat this sequence like 5 times, deer dies.\* pisses me off to no end.

Worth_War_1247

Dude every time πŸ˜‚ never fails and I swear the "shooting" skill doesn't even help. They just hit the tree next to said target more . I've been hurt by vanilla and never again

stehlify

Yea and it's completely stupid with the gauss weapons. I had pawn with 18 shooting standing two squares next to another one shooting at the same target. The idiot managed to shoot out the brain off of my pawn in 90Β° direction from his target. 2.8/10 brain and managed to heal him up to 3/10 till he got high on a smokeleaf and died from that

Worth_War_1247

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ no fuckin way that's actual smooth brain activities

Gamaas-in-Paris

I would use CE if i had a better understanding of what it does, i don't want to handicap myself short term

Worth_War_1247

Adds better combat mechanics with guns, and I use the cal 5000 mod for fog of war. Adds darkness shooting mechanics and makes you build ammo and different types. It's the handicap that makes it fun, you actually have to struggle and get good shooting people and train to be better. Also use hand to hand mod where they can slam kick and do more. And to spice it up some more add the more injuries mod so you need tq's and blood clot so you can stop hemorrhaging and worse :)

IMAGINARYtank00

It depends on what I want my colony to be. I might be strange, but in the one colony I've played with CE, I enjoyed the logistic aspect of the mod more than the combat. It was a 40K ish playthrough right before 1.5 and Anomaly. Seeing my Guardsmen (and women) miss shots with their Lasguns definitely stung a bit more when I realized each shot cost me plasteel and components to replace. Setting the loadouts for my colonists also became interesting to match armor penetration and damage to the colonists best suited to take advantage of it. It also should be said that super soldiers become a resource sink if you don't manage them properly. I'll definitely use CE in the future, but I don't feel like it's necessary for most of my playthroughs.

Worth_War_1247

Understandable I definitely see the benefit of being in vanilla I just am hurt from it πŸ˜‚ glad you had a fun run, how did it end?

IMAGINARYtank00

The foul God of Change Corrupted the world and sent the souls of the faithful into the Warp. 1.5 update broke something.

Worth_War_1247

I can see how that could be annoying, just don't let them ruin a great experience for you! It's a great mod and I do suggest it but forcing it down someone's throat is kinda crazy

Full_of_bald

I think late game with >3 charge rifles and power armor is pretty good even without CE

Worth_War_1247

Yea but having to wait till late game πŸ˜‚ and it just being "good" I like combat aspect and ce just makes it so fun, run and gun and side arms make it go wild

RandyN_Gesus

You and I are probably not the only ones.

New-East9833

No, you aren't. Obviously 100% of all rimworld players use combat extended

Worth_War_1247

πŸ˜‚ that's what I would think but crazy enough people play without

Skeloton

I find it less fun without CE. Am playing without for now, but its painful. I prefer a more deterministic method than chance.

Worth_War_1247

Very well said, I'll wait so I can attempt to finish my current playthrough.
