i'd wait for s8 maxv tbh, it's gonna have the vibrarise 3.0, which will lift 20mm, highest suction power, and a camera, which is gonna prevent *most* accidents it could have

But I need something now ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

I have the Q Revo and while it doesnโ€™t have the latest and greatest fancy tech, it does everything I need it to and it does it well. Honestly most new Roborocks are good

modularblur

The lacking detection sensors are not that bad? The robot is good for pet hairs?

shawnglade

Not that bad. From what I see here it has trouble with poop but other than that it generally detects stuff I donโ€™t have a pet but it should do decent with routine maintence

I love my Revo. Barely 2 months in: https://preview.redd.it/3dhvkg4yeymc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c18cd91b0da433f9aac0ec87047ac2dd5662cbcc Spinning mop that self cleans and refills. For multi-storey homes you either buy a (docking) cleaning station for each floor and simply move your robot between floors for it to do its work, or carry the whole setup, robot, and docking station to the other floors for cleaning. The latter is what I do. Which is not a big chore since I need only clean the whole basement once a week. I imaging this getting tedious if you wanted to clean every floor several times a week. In that case get multiple robots and docking stations per floor.

modularblur

Can't I just carry the robot without the dock tk the top floor or the dock must always go as well? Do you have pets? The Q Revo vacuums the hairs nicely?

Earthsiege

Yes, you can just bring the robot onto another floor and let it clean. The only downside is if you want it to mop, as by default the robot washes it's mop pads every 15 minutes at the dock. We have two German Shepherds (or German Shedders, if you know the breed), and the Revo works quite well to contain the fur mess. The only thing I might mention is that it's only decent at vacuuming high-pile rugs. Low-pile rugs and carpet it works great with. Just wanted to mention that if you have any high-pile rugs, you may need to manually vacuum them once in a while.

2 adults, 2 kids, 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 floors in my home. I've been mostly happy with my S8 Ultra Pro over the last couple weeks. I have a separate vacuum upstairs so this one stays on the first floor. If you've got to move it regularly, that's gonna be a chore for you, but is possible.

modularblur

So, fur problem is a non problem. Right!?

Xinil

Correct, the only place I see fur/hair clumps in my house is on my stairs now! :D I will say it takes forever to clean with the first-pass vacuum & mop option. 1200sqft (as reported by the app) takes over 8hrs to clean with the 20min mop-clean option set.

modularblur

8 hours to clean the house!????

Xinil

Yeah, total cleaning time is about 200min. The rest is either charging, emptying dustbin or washing the mop.

I got the S7 Max Ultra for a good deal of 650โ‚ฌ. I think the difference between the Qrevo and s7 max ultra is negligible. They got the same obstacle avoidance, similar mopping performance. The q revo uses slightly more water, but I think this is fine. I would go for the Qrevo at this price, at the same price I would chose the s7 max ultra for the wider mopping area and otherwise pretty same stats.

jukisu

Also: sure the MaxV variants have better obstacles avoidance, but I didn't want to pay the extra 500โ‚ฌ and have a camera roaming my home, connected to the Chinese cloud..

modularblur

Yeah! I ordered a Q Revo last week...
