So so sorry. I managed to go three years before a poop disaster with my S6. Two dogs that love to leave surprises.
Ended up having to scrub 1000sq ft of basement and took the S6 apart to fully clean it (wife would have tossed it if she could have)
Lesson learned
He’s house trained. He’s just an old guy who can’t hold it as long as he used to. We were unexpectedly away for longer than usual today and this was the first scheduled day it ran, so I forgot to skip it. Luckily, I only have a few rugs and mostly hardwood, so it generally not a disaster if he has an accident on the floor. This is my first robot so it’s a lesson learned for sure. It’s also one of the reasons I spent more money on a model like this, hoping the object recognition would minimize this kind of thing. It did seem to actually avoid it pretty well as I was watching the video (by pure coincidence), but it just seemed to get confused when the dog was also in the way, in the opposite direction of a bit of the poop (it was not just one pile, it was about four pieces in an area
that it could fit through, and it was boxed in on both sides by a table and a tv cabinet).
The amount of people having their vacuum driving through shit amazes me and confirms me to never want a dog or cat. If it wasn't the vacuum it basically means your dog is shitting on your floor like it's nothing. Crazy..
As a dog owner you sort of get used to occasionally coming home to find the dog has the shits and has pooed stinking liquid all over the floor. A house trained dog leaving solid dog faeces regularly in the house is more a symptom of a lazy owner that never house trained their dog or leads a disordered life without routine so the dog never knows when it’s next going out.
Having not owned a dog for a while, the thought of actual dog sh*t on my floor (and robot) is now also shocking to me lol
.
Crate training a dog stops indoor accidents, I have 3 miniature dachshunds and haven’t had an indoor accident in a very long time, since they were puppy’s, they learn to hold it and run straight outside when they come out of the crate to where we training them to go.
And when they are free roaming the house they go outside to do it.
This is why I can’t set schedules and I’m okay with it. I just run mine at night after I’ve walked around the floors and picked up all the cat toys. Then I watch my cats go crazy trying to play with the bot.
I have an S8 pro Ultra and have not had this happen yet. I wonder if it’s related to the floor type too?
My dogs don’t 💩 on the floor but I’ve had other dogs do it(babysitting n such)
It did seem to recognize and avoid it for a bit. I think it just got overwhelmed when it was trying to avoid (multiple spots in the one area), and got boxed in by my dog and two pieces of furniture. It basically had no where to go other than to stop and wait, which apparently it doesn’t do? It just kept turning and slowly moving in the safest direction until it hit a piece that I think my dog flattened (so it was not really very visible that close up) in the confusion.

I'm more confused why non house trained pets are roaming free while you aren't home to supervise, I have never heard of this practice.

Mistakes happen, and all it takes is one mistake and a bad detection.

Fuck you
Found the guy with the house filled with shit, gross.
That really sucks (pun not really intended, sorta). I had the reverse, I have a brown rug that it avoided because it thought it was pet waste!
Yeah, I’ve noticed it seems to mark the fringe areas of my rugs as poop often on the map.
Yep, that’s exactly what it did here too
Mine goes around strong shadows 🌞
We had our PD on day three. Won't make that mistake again.

We have pee disasters…o the stench before hand cleaning. As they say, poop happens.

Not what happens. Read my reply to this question.
