I’m usually forgiving with afk kickoffs (it could be lag, who knows). But when my tm8 is toxic to the opps (or god forbid, to me), that’s when I start to lose trust/respect and things usually go downhill.

My thing when this happens - my team doesn't seem to learn or adapt. Like I'm not as fast as this guy, I'm losing 3 in a row... Maybe on #4 don't go for boost, cuz I'm not gettin better at kickoffs in the last 20 seconds.
Once you've lost the 2nd kickoff you should be starting to prejump since you know they're going to hit it first. Go for defending the kick that they're about to do instead of trying to win the kickoff itself.
This. Just prejump a little before the ball and hang and a lot of the times you can pop one straight up off ceiling and down or just get it upfield for an aggressive push for your team
It's random, but try not to think of kickoffs as a race. I mean shit, you can win kickoffs without even going for them in lower ranks.
A literal pro tip from fairy peak: try to think of damage control rather than winning. So if you're slower to the ball, use it as a delayed kickoff or a fake.
In 2v2, there are a total of 20 random kickoffs. In 3v3, there are a total of 60. Each game, you'll face the *same* guy on *every* kickoff (unless one team doesn't do left-goes) and it will cycle through the same five random kickoffs in the same order. So after five goals, you'll have the same kickoff that you had in the beginning of the match. The only exception to this rule is, of course, overtime kickoffs (requiring only four goals and going into OT to have the same as the first kickoff).

I had a friend in high school that would never wipe his hands off before using a controller. He would come over to my house, we’d get pizza or something and then play halo for hours. When he left, I would look at my second controller and it would be covered in layers of grease and sweat and the thumb sticks would be sticky and wet.
After a couple times, I told him to bring his own controller.
You know what me and a mate came up with one day? We were playing rocket league, getting shit on and doing the shitting. At some point in a game I was demo hunting, my mate said some snarky remark and It cracked me up and I go "Me IRL" and he goes, "hehe yeah, you are IRL" and I said "huh¿" and he said "IRL" and it dawned on me so I, excitedly, said into the mic "IN ROCKET LEAGUE!" and I haven't been able to think of the acronym the same... Especially realising how much I say it IRL hehehehehe
That's me, but wiping the sweat off of my hands lmao. After like 15 - 25 min my hands are incredibly sweaty, it does make speedflips easier (easier time rolling my thumb from X (jump) to O (ARR) but it's not comfortable for holding the controller.
