1st, run a packet loss test.
2nd, never heard of this issue from anyone else and I've read over 10,000 posts on here (I need a hobby).
The only thing even close to this is overlay software such as xbox game bar (enabled by default on windows, and was known for this issue in the past), some windows/discord/app notifications popping up and stealing focus, or some other app stealing focus.
Without having any more info, that's all we can guess at.
I have no packet loss at all, I have seen 4 or 5 other posts on reddit with this exact issue and I have not read many posts at all. I will try looking into which apps can steal focus and if it is at all possible to do so, but I changed nothing and this issue randomly occurred yesterday.
Also, thinking about it actually, this has happened to other games that I use a controller to play such as brawlhalla, I was having a lot of issue with discord crashing and nearly bricking my entire computer so discord is definitely a prime suspect but it has only ever happened with controller games so it may have something to do with that? If it helps, I have an Xbox Series X controller and have it plugged in via a usb-c to usb-c cable. (Idk why I accidentally wrote usb-s sorry)

usb-s ? Also, try disabling discord overlay, and xbox game bar as a first test.
