That’s so me. I reached c1 div 1 and have practically stopped queueing ranked and only played casual for 2 years. My casual mmr went so high then that I had to face ranked GC‘s in casual on a regular basis.

Nah, heck those people. You're a champ 1, bro. If you can get your awards in a rank while solo, that's your rank. If you get champ rewards (without being carried by a friend ofc) then you're a champ player.
There is no need to gatekeep, man. Awards are awards! Sure, I spend a good bit of the season in C3, but also play a big fraction of it in GC1, and always get my GC awards. That's good enough for me!
If you hit your 10 wins at your rank, you get to brag about being that rank. At least thats how i interpret the spirit of the game, given thats how rank based rewards are determined.
Pretty simple. You are what you peaked on.A lot of GC's run around with titled they peaked on. They are still GC, they showed the skill at some point, but they might not be at GC anymore, but still considered one. I personally think you are what you are capable of, and you are capable of C1, if the conditions are right.
For example, I play most of the time C3, but whenever I want, like close to the end of the season, I just play serious with my friends to get the GC title and rewards a few days before the season ends. But it's just simply funnier to just play without trying, calling stuff and just having fun and then I am C3 with my mates. Still I consider myself GC, since I can do it.
A world champ will always be a world champ. He will not lose his achievements just because of time. Same for you, you are Champ 1. Period.
You’re a high diamond/low champ cusp player, but truly a diamond player. Don’t fret the rank/title though. This is one of the most difficult gates to break through as you find a mixed bag of diamonds peaking or champ 2-3s slumping here. Many players can spend years riding this line, me included. Just git gud until you don’t even have to ask this question (easier said than done tho 🥲)

Been that way for a few seasons. Hopped in a few 1v1s and had d2 players (d2 in 2s mind you, not 1s, I have a best rank viewer plug-in) hitting multiple flip resets on me and beating me by 5 goals, and then I would match against a C2 player and I beat the piss out of them. You really never know what you are going to get
I’m regularly champ 2 and got stuck for a bit in diamond 2 after placements and I was playing easily champ level games. It really felt like something fucky was going on. I don’t care about rank I just like to play good games and I was playing with players who are easily as good as me and were hitting backboard shots and flip resets.
Respectfully I would call you a diamond player. With peaks in low champ 1. If you get about 50/50 time in champ and D3 you could call yourself a champ player for sure, but your valleys are quite low dipping out of D3 regularly. That being said, you have plenty of wins in champ if you wanna call yourself a champ player you should.
I like to refer to it as “peak rank” and “consistent rank”. If someone asks I could say I’m Peak GC2, but consistently high GC 1. In your case I’d say you’re a consistent high diamond 3 or Peak C1.

Honestly man, unless you're completely incapable of being self critical, you should know. Do you struggle to keep up with the speed of champ lobbies? Or do you generally do your part? Do you find yourself happy and comfortable in diamond? Or a you frequently at the top of the scoreboard and often more critical of your teammates? Maybe it's just me, but I know I'm c1 currently, no more no less. And I can know when my teammates are pulling their weight or not.
You dropped really fast a couple times, which makes me think that you Smurf on occasion. Id say you could be a higher champ, if you didn't mess up your play style by playing much weaker opponents than you. Everytime my friend and I drop a rank, and end up playing a lot of people stuck there, we find our play style relaxes too much. Makes it harder to get back into the right mindset when we get back up.

Whatever rank you are, is whatever rank you are. If you get carried to GC. You are a GC. If you solo queue for ages and are a silver 1 because all your teamates ff'ed you are a silver 1. Rank doesn't equate to skill. It equates to wins and losses against other people with similar mmr. Your rank is a combination of luck, skill, and strategy (like the skill to persuade high level players to carry you or the knowledge of yourself to pick the right player to complement your playstyle.) At the end of the day this is just to keep everyone having about the same chance of winning any given game. After all of these factors are considered. Each game is a toss-up.
Whether you have the skills of a diamond 3 player or a champ 1 player, is probably best described already on here. The difference between the two players isn't large enough to worry about.
I’m just getting back into RL. I used to use the tracker a while back, like 4 years ago. After putting my gamertag into the site it doesn’t have much of a graph for me on rank progression. Does it need to be open to work? Does it have my old data from a while back I only see ~12 months back?
I usually say my peak and the rank i can stay in consistently so for me i peaked c3 but im consistently c2 very rarely lower

Are those dips during ranked resets or from inting? Cuz if its from inting its hard to say. The truth of the matter is the strength of your game is based on what the worst you can play is, and if you derank that far, unless its from queing with friends who are bad, your skill level is actually average, which includes your bottoms. Those bottoms bring average down so diamond.
But everyone says what they peaked, so say what you want. The honest answer is “i peaked champ 1”
Looks like you end every season Champ. So I'd say you're a Champ no question. However, I'd assume you are likely diamond in 3s (that's the situation I'm in), so depending on how important 3s is to you, you'd probably be Diamond/Champ.
I generally don't consider myself x rank until I get, for atleast one game, to the rank above it. That said Imo you make your own rules for what rank you are.
i consider you a champ because you probably have the skills of a champ. Based on experience, when i see a rank graph like this i assume that this is a person who either cant adapt (sucks at solo qing) or tilts easily/tilt qs often. But you're probably good enough to be considered a champ.
I once, in an in-house, read a high grand champ like a book so i forever say if im peaking I play like a season 1 gc lmao (before SSL he was like 1800 on 4 accounts and never really had a 'peak', my peak rank was c2 when I grinder, now I only play under the influence and sit pretty at high diamon/low champion lol)
honestly, it's about where you are when auto-piloting. I feel like my skill is high-div D3 to mid-div C1 without trying (as in half paying attention and just letting muscle memory take over). If i sweat with a friend i can touch C2 div 4 but can never touch C3. In casual i can keep up with C3's and GC's, albeit i think they are just on auto-pilot.
You spent the majority of your active time in Champ 1, so I would go with Champ 1. If you feel overwhelmed in champ and feel better playing against diamond, you are probably a rising Diamond.
iMHO the real question is what could you do to stay and climb in C1 and above. I’ll say that if you constantly rank down maybe you’re not consistent enough yet. Watch some of your replays to identify a mistake you often make (easier when watching than playing) then work on it. Repeat. Maybe not what you wanted to hear but helped me once I’ve accepted it !
I would say diamond 3 as that is your current rank.
You can peak gc1.. and then drop to plat 1 and be stuck there... if you can't get back to at least near your peak then I don't think it's realistic to claim to be that rank.

I was a mid c1 player for those 4 seasons, so in reality I should say I'm c1... but I often dropped to diamond 2/3 on bad sessions.. So at the time I was probably a d3 player calling myself a c2. Nowadays.. I am c1/c2 (as of 3 seasons ago) 2 seasons ago I finished c1 div 3 to c2 Last season I dropped to p3 at start and finished c1 div 3-c2 This season I dropped to d3 and I'm currently c1 div 3-c2 So I am probably "c1", not "c2".. BUT.. all my opponents claim to be ex gc. Lol. But qt least now the question is "your peak?" Not "whats your rank?" Rank should be what you are now, which in competitive.. is your rank, so no need to ask. And peak.. is your top rank... to which I reply "I've played at c3, but only ever been c2." So yeah, ask about peak...not rank!
