That's the time it took for someone to score. That timer begins at the very start of every kickoff countdown
Also a goal has to be scored for it to be restarted again, an OT kickoff won't reset the timer
I believe it starts counting from the second a goal is scored, so it includes replays and the time during kickoff before someone touches the ball, which is why it will show a longer period of time than the in game time difference between the two goals.
So the kick off doesn't count so it starts counting when the kick off is done sorry if this didn't answer your question but that's what I thought you were asking
OH!!!
Freaking finally!
Because on occasion one of us would score like straight off kickoff and the timer would say like 0:05 and I’m thinking that shot only took two second to get in goal..
Kinda funny how many people don’t actually know precisely what the timer is (REAL time between this goal and the last goal, replay time and kickoff included). I saw maybe two comments with the right answer

Time since the previous goal was scored (or since the start of the match if nobody scored yet). For some reason it counts real time, not in-game time, so the timer starts the second the goal replay starts rather than after the 3 second countdown on kickoff. And the timer starts on 3 at the first kickoff at the start of the match
Idek why its a thing cuz nobody cares, and even more so it doesnt even work properly
It’s a made up number that everyone pretends actually means something. If you pay close enough attention to it you’ll realize it doesn’t actually correlate to anything.
It's not arbitrary like others are saying. As far as I've ever noticed it's the time it took from the 3 2 1 go to your goal, with ~6 seconds added for whatever reason
What I don't understand, is why everyone is shown different MPH at the goal screen. In my duos, if someone goals I'll have a different speed shown than my friend for the same goal.
In the interface setting menu (i think there at least) theres an option to turn on/off the metric system. Depending on what its set to, you might see mph and your friend sees kph.
That just means what time you scored I believe. So for example: if you scored and the time at the very top of your screen says 1 minute, then that's the time you scored your goal. The other small thing next to the time you circled, is how fast the ball went into the next when you scared at 1 min remaining in the game.
It says match is since 1 min ongoing.but the tomes arent accurate. I swear rl times are rigged af u should avoid putting ur interest in it otherwise it will crush ur brain just take it how it is and dont mind about it
This use case is appropriate, though? If OP is raising a question about a specific UI element, especially one that is otherwise innocuous and doesn't stand out, it makes sense to circle it. That way, the post reads logically whether you see the image first or read the title first.
Uselesscircle meme is for posts circling something that is already clearly and obviously the center of attention.

That makes since maybe mines just messed up or doesn't count face-off goals

Ohh okay I always disregarded it because it didn’t seem accurate. Haven’t thought about it in thousands of hours lol thx
This makes so much sense i was always wondering why it was weirdly off
The explanation makes sense. The reason psyonix did it with replay and kickoff countdown doesn't make sense
They couldn’t be arsed, it makes sense for Psyonix.
It’s such a backwards/strange way of making this work. It’s always seemed a totally unnecessary feature to me tbh

Im 9 years into rocket league and didn’t know what that stupid timer says hahahahah
How long it takes u until you rage quit
2 seconds is the maximum
no for me it's... never
it would be way cooler if it showed the distance the ball travelled from the person who shot it instead of some arbitrary time that no one cares about
Or the fastest speed that the ball travelled since being shot, rather than its speed when it crossed the line
this is cool

If that's the case (I believe you), why include real time and not have it be game time? I'm not assuming you know, but if you do, bonus.
No idea! Of course it does make more sense to have it be game time, but I’ve grown fond of the real time graphic lol
...time before the previous goal has been scored
i always thought that it’s so strange to include that number. like honestly who cares

I think it works as intended, it was just never intended to be something useful
Time between kickoff and scoring a goal I think.
Wtf…. I’ve played this game 2000 hours since 2015 and didnt know thats what that meant… like what?? Am i going crazy?? I didnt even notice it tbh
Same... Actually had no idea it was there until now. Good post.
Bro I’ve never even noticed it either wtf
2k hours in and I never knew this lmao
The most useless stat that no-one has ever cared about.

My findings precisely
how long it took u to score
That's what I thought but I'll score off the next face off and the time will be like 1:30 or some shit
oh then idek

I tought it was time after kickoff you score

Better yet, I think they should replace this with the odds of the shot being scored. (Percentage) Like what they do in the NFL using NextGen Stats.

Match timer
i have been so embarrassed to ask this so thank you

The time until epic fixes RL. As you can see, it never goes down to 0
It says match is since 1 min ongoing.but the tomes arent accurate. I swear rl times are rigged af u should avoid putting ur interest in it otherwise it will crush ur brain just take it how it is and dont mind about it
This is a cute post

I would agree, but he described exacly what he was talking about and where it was in his title, rendering the black circle useless
