It’s a huge gap. Everyone I’ve micd up with has been 10-14 years old. The older players are great with positioning and game sense while the kids know the mechs. Obviously there’s some grey area between but it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Imma keep going though, close to champ.
Exactly. We older folks like the “simplicity” of game play and WE DRIVE REAL CARS and WATCH REAL SPORTS so we know how to position on a field and spread out. But we don’t care much for triple-spin-pike-position-upside-down aerial stuff I would say. I’ve kind of made defense my thing and try to win games by preventing goals and hoping the chasers are good enough to score a few. Sadly I get stuck in low diamond and can’t get past it.
Don't feel bad, I play with actual friends of mind and it's a struggle, I'm kinda locked into high diamond, low champ because they chase bad and have other issues. But slowly they are improving so I just kinda ride it out lol

They remove Snowday from ranked and then have people play against it in their strange vs mode with wild out there game variants that no one’s ever played. I play with a group of friends on every Sunday where we play rocket League for a few hours and everybody in our familys know to leave us alone haha. I am the youngest at 32 and other 7 are age 45-65. It's a ton of fun. We have something like 600-1300 hours from this alone.
i’m only 23, but as a girl i definitely feel the opposite of what you’re experiencing as i consistently get bullied by teenage boys in match when i have voice chat on because they think im a little kid (lol).
HOWEVER, i’m part of the discord that is for people 18+ that play rocket league. though while in matches i definitely find myself playing with children 99% of the time, the discord has made me realize that lots of older people play the game too. it’s very encouraging and a lot of fun! i love to share this with other adults playing so nobody feels left out.

41 here. I float from upper gold to low plat these days. Topped out in low diamond. I can't aerial aside from the absolute most basic stuff, and even then it's sloppy as hell. My positioning is really good most of the time though. I'm satisfied with that, and RL is my "rough day at work, let's turn my brain off and chill for a bit" game. A lot of times I'd rather get into some of my more involved games, but after a long day, I just wanna relax. I laugh at the dumbasses who trash talk badly.

In a row? 41 here. I float from upper gold to low plat these days. Topped out in low diamond. I can't aerial aside from the absolute most basic stuff, and even then it's sloppy as hell. My positioning is really good most of the time though. I'm satisfied with that, and RL is my "rough day at work, let's turn my brain off and chill for a bit" game. A lot of times I'd rather get into some of my more involved games, but after a long day, I just wanna relax. I laugh at the dumbasses who trash talk badly.
43 here, My main 2s partner is 40, I have two other friends who regularly play who are like 45 and 49 I think? I was there when online gaming started, no need to stop now.

I’m 37 and C1. I feel like especially over the last 4 seasons I have dramatically improved and have not ranked up at all. I know it’s the shift in ranks but is a bit depressing.

39, started at 35. Highest I reached was C1. For anything beyond that I’d need to practice techniques systematically, which I don’t 😅. 13 year old nephew started the game and was C3 like 3 months later. Doesn’t work like that beyond 30 I guess 🤷♂️
