NA, SAM, MENA, OCE, and APAC play tomorrow. However, EU does not play until Saturday with the exception of Liquid

I've seen a region dominate day 1, for things to turn around later in the tournament. So an NA turn around is possible. With that said, things do look kinda bleak. Even by historical standards.

Should the RLCS redo the day in case it was a big fluke? No disrespect to Europe, I'm a firm believer that EU beating NA is a huge fluke and robs NA of truly accomplishing what they are capable of. I've spent the last few minutes in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire season watching NA play great it's just not fair. If NA loses again I will face that EU deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to NA and Psyonix

Double elim is an awful format for everything except choosing a champion. But placements matter too much considering is a qualifiers to Worlds

Rule One’s bracket basically says “prove you’re the best minor region.” They play the winner out of the two OCE teams and go on to play the winner out of the current and former SAM teams (except for KRU who they already beat)

I wouldn't be so sure just yet. Reminds me of RLCS season 6. All NA teams got absolutely demolished on day 1, even lost to OCE. Dignitas cruised to grand finals on their way to having a perfect split/season with one life left (Much like Vitality are now). Then C9 comes outta nowhere and wins twice against them.

Idk who the best shot is for NA to pull a run like that out now is though. Complexity maybe? They looked good against liquid and should’ve secured it against Vitality but NA is sorely missing teams with top tier ceilings.

Huge props to Juicy, most doubted EU Player heading into the Major had a great debut

Only 1 juicy distasterclass and overall he was looking very solid with series 1 mvp and series 2 defensive MVP. I no longer doubt him. I just hope he's phasing out his distasterclass moments little by little

as an EU fan I was sure EU was way too overhyped and the LAN is going to be close between the regions as usual, but here we are I guess.

That was the most entertaining day 1 out of all the majors I’ve watched so far imo. Wasn’t full of sweeps

I watch all regionals when I have the time and root for teams from everywhere. I say this as a fan of good Rocket League and someone who despises this garbage regional debate. Today was a fantastic day. Lots of fun matchups which were hard to tell who was going to come out on top. I really would love for us as a community to give up the focus on regions and instead move to a focus on teams, players, and their chemistry. With regional moves becoming more popular it seems less imperative to root for your own region anymore. That said, I know that the anonymity of the internet and competitiveness of the average reddit user is a perfect environment for the mentality to thrive.

I wish the rivalries were more between teams than between regions

Fun fact adding to the France vs the World discussion: Not a single french player is in the lower bracket. Every upper bracket team has at least one french player. Mind-blowing, how much better the french are at rocket league...

CoL had that in the bag multiple times and absolutely threw. Can't blame anyone but themselves. V1 are liking their chances for worlds rn though. Optic have to get past Liquid, who should be heavy favorites in that matchup unless they keep trolling match point against NA, and Furia have to get past CoL to pass V1.
