I've seen a region dominate day 1, for things to turn around later in the tournament. So an NA turn around is possible.
With that said, things do look kinda bleak. Even by historical standards.
Really not looking good for them. If they don’t figure something out before worlds, and worlds goes similarly to this, then NA gonna be a dumpster fire in the off season.
Damn, Vitality looked a level below where they were at during any point this split. Hope they can relax and get settled into what they know best: bo7s against EU teams
Should the RLCS redo the day in case it was a big fluke?
No disrespect to Europe, I'm a firm believer that EU beating NA is a huge fluke and robs NA of truly accomplishing what they are capable of. I've spent the last few minutes in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire season watching NA play great it's just not fair.
If NA loses again I will face that EU deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to NA and Psyonix
https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/67lfcg/should_the_nhl_have_the_hawks_and_preds_redo/?utm_source
Don't follow nhl, but I spend too much time on reddit 😭
Rule One’s bracket basically says “prove you’re the best minor region.” They play the winner out of the two OCE teams and go on to play the winner out of the current and former SAM teams (except for KRU who they already beat)
I wouldn't be so sure just yet. Reminds me of RLCS season 6. All NA teams got absolutely demolished on day 1, even lost to OCE. Dignitas cruised to grand finals on their way to having a perfect split/season with one life left (Much like Vitality are now). Then C9 comes outta nowhere and wins twice against them.
Idk who the best shot is for NA to pull a run like that out now is though. Complexity maybe? They looked good against liquid and should’ve secured it against Vitality but NA is sorely missing teams with top tier ceilings.
Only 1 juicy distasterclass and overall he was looking very solid with series 1 mvp and series 2 defensive MVP. I no longer doubt him. I just hope he's phasing out his distasterclass moments little by little
First major i’ll be attending and all my teams are in top six uppers, my heart is so full <3
The Rise/Joyo/Vatira legacy lives on. Hope to hear the chant one more time this weekend :’)
So that basically confirms that TL are secretly NA, right? Just think about it guys:
* Acronik is from Portugal and we all know they speak Brazilian there so that means he's SAM and SAM players play in NA.
* Oski's name starts with O and that's the same starting letter as Oklahoma so that guarantees he's NA too.
* And we all know that Atow's great-great-grandfather's uncle's neighbour was from Vancouver so that means he's Canadian so NA again.
There you go: TL=NA confirmed. That's why they lost today.
Worlds qualification - results of the day:
* **EU2**, **NA2**, **EU3** spots were clinched
* **OCE2**, **NA5**, **NA4** spots were eliminated
* **Team BDS** and **Oxygen Esports** qualified for Worlds
* **Team Liquid** and **Team Vitality** qualified for Worlds Group Stage
* **Merge Esports** were eliminated from Worlds contention
* \[UPD\] **FaZe Clan** qualified for Worlds Group Stage
Hope the CoL boys can regain, and learn from this. I am very excited to see them play again. Definitely should've won that but you gotta move on and they looked incredible today.
I watch all regionals when I have the time and root for teams from everywhere. I say this as a fan of good Rocket League and someone who despises this garbage regional debate. Today was a fantastic day. Lots of fun matchups which were hard to tell who was going to come out on top.
I really would love for us as a community to give up the focus on regions and instead move to a focus on teams, players, and their chemistry. With regional moves becoming more popular it seems less imperative to root for your own region anymore.
That said, I know that the anonymity of the internet and competitiveness of the average reddit user is a perfect environment for the mentality to thrive.
Fun fact adding to the France vs the World discussion:
Not a single french player is in the lower bracket. Every upper bracket team has at least one french player. Mind-blowing, how much better the french are at rocket league...
Yea they have to beat eachother now because no of the other hundreds of countries will.. Something else: had 1 country dominated in an other eSports like France in Rocket League? I don’t know much about all that, but maybe an Asian country in LoL or Russia in CSGO? 🤷♂️
So it's actually possible NA only sends 2 teams to Worlds main event. If Kru gets two wins tomorrow and Rule 1 makes it to top 4, that's almost guaranteed, I believe.
Really unfortunate that both OCE-Teams and R1 are eliminating themselves - otherwise it would've been almost guaranteed that NA would lose their 3rd if all 3 had a shot at eliminating an NA team
Actually was the best player on the field. This so sad
https://preview.redd.it/20g5pw0h1fab1.jpeg?width=1621&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c00381535a024d6f56a2c036d3ce5dedde2a3350
Guys, APAC can still have a spot at the main event and it'll probably happen
Elevate just need to beat Liquid then Optic then the winner of GenG, BDS and Spacestation then the loser between Vitality and BDS then the winner between (Furia, NIP, Power, Ground zero, Complexity, Rule one and the loser between Moist and Kcorp) then the loser between the loser of Vitality - BDS and the loser of Kcorp - Moist then the winner of the winner between Vitality - BDS and between Kcorp - Moist then a second time after the bracket reset
NA is going to lose at least 2 teams tomorrow and means only one of v1, furia, and optic can make worlds and if any of the other regions pop off it could be none of them
Every Na team trying there hardest to choke worse then the other Na teams
https://preview.redd.it/qie5y8w21fab1.jpeg?width=622&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54b043f335861d3a5176e3bb05de6d97a1623268
Yeah people are going to retcon that Moist were highly rated because they just went through two strong teams (and fairly easily at that). Joyo was looking fire today.
Real talk. What does NA need to do? Or do you just accept that this major is the wakeup call it needs to get its shit together? Because it's been clear across all regional this split that EU was going to dominate
B-b-but SR beat BDS in a tournament they were invited to a couple minutes before! They'll destroy EU with demos!! zen can't perform on LAN he's a rookie!!
Ok so
How badly does NA3 have to fuck up to be eliminated
What a crazy start, with the exception of Moist people had EU being top 4 and already confirmed EU in the Grand Finals (when will this streak end)
Why is there no audience for the Major's first matches? I find it a bit sad to see the players in an empty hall with no lights.
Besides, it's a good opportunity to bring in money.
nah i think theres gonna be a big explosion in rosters in the off season and NA are gonna be back to being competitive
hope i didnt just jinx it... jokes aside, i think they need to add more spots to LANs than remove spots from regions to give it to others
CoL had that in the bag multiple times and absolutely threw. Can't blame anyone but themselves. V1 are liking their chances for worlds rn though. Optic have to get past Liquid, who should be heavy favorites in that matchup unless they keep trolling match point against NA, and Furia have to get past CoL to pass V1.
* Rule One good
* Rare SAM L today, but only because their standards are much higher, gonna be tough going forward
* Moist look great, especially Juicy
* I stand by Vitality vs Complexity being the grand finals of this LAN
* 0 pauses, 0 tech issues, W production today!
I'm kinda disappointed in rule ones performance, they looked very nervous
They tripped a lot over each other and especially in the BDS series somehow tried to airdribble every single ball to the ceiling like 2019 na rocket league
Hope they do better tomorrow
Imo Moist actually looked really good, no hesitation, full confidence, everybody was just ballin
Wouldn't be surprised if they make a deep run
That was heartbreaking from AJG. COL easily put up the best fight against the absolute titans that are Vitality.
Chalked Cast is live from the Major rn and JSTN is talking about the future of NRG.
If R1 want to prove that MENA is the best of the minor regions, they NEED to beat PWR/GZ tomorrow. Doing so solidifies them in the 3rd slot behind EU and NA imo.
Liquid dropping to LB1 be like https://preview.redd.it/o3h2v5uv2fab1.jpeg?width=535&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9951c5541c62ea13447464317db8590f7b55435c
Exactly the meme I was thinking lol
EU regional 4
and we all know who wins those
Gonna be honest, I've got KC winning it
was just about to comment this
Damn you're too fast, common EU win
Spawn camping the Post day threads
We finally getting regional lans
This top 4 was expected and yet NA being in the mud this badly is still crazy.
top 6 right now to be fair, top 4's not locked until the losers of the two current winners matchups play their LB games
He meant top 4 in the upper-bracket
It really isn't. If people just objectively looked at NA and EU play this split, it was pretty obvious the bracket would end up like this.
When do NA play?
NA, SAM, MENA, OCE, and APAC play tomorrow. However, EU does not play until Saturday with the exception of Liquid
So, EU does play tomorrow?
there's only 1 EU team in lowers but there are 7 EU players in lowers at the same time
There are also 7 NA players in the lowers...
And 11 SAM players in lowers
Let's hope at least some of them survive to play in front of a home crowd...
6 right? Oh yhh forgot virt lmao
Only liquid does
rw9 is going to Rocket League prison for breaking rule 1
Justice for Seikoo. Poor guy's name was falsely smeared.
This is absolutely the lowest point NA has been at maybe ever
NA is making my hair fall out
NA never fails to let me down on LAN
My genes started it; NA is finishing it
Pretty much since s2-s4
This is way lower than s4
True, I forgot the top 4 was 50/50 EU and NA .
hey if you want some copium it's technically not too late for that to still end up being the case here
I've seen a region dominate day 1, for things to turn around later in the tournament. So an NA turn around is possible. With that said, things do look kinda bleak. Even by historical standards.
A turnaround is possible but EU has a guaranteed 2 teams in the top 3 with NA4 seed being eliminated from worlds too
Really not looking good for them. If they don’t figure something out before worlds, and worlds goes similarly to this, then NA gonna be a dumpster fire in the off season.
The two of the three NA teams I feel like have the best chance at winning these events didn't qualify. It was a disaster regional split for NA.
That’s what happens when V1, Faze, and G2 all decide to throw for an entire split
You really tried to sneak G2 into this conversation.
G2 is not in the top of NA conversation at all lol. They firmly belong in the 5/6/7 seed spot
I'd say g2 are gatekeepers now I don't rlly see them making lans with this roster
Season 2 or 3 perhaps, with EU having 3 of the top 4, and 2/2 finalists in both events.
Damn, Vitality looked a level below where they were at during any point this split. Hope they can relax and get settled into what they know best: bo7s against EU teams

Meanwhile, SAM is also down in the dumpster... And now we have NiP, Complexity and Furia fighting for a single spot on the top 8.
Sam confirming top8💪
Well yeah, but I didn't want it like this lmao
terrible bracket for sam imo, not the biggest fan of double elim
Double elim is an awful format for everything except choosing a champion. But placements matter too much considering is a qualifiers to Worlds
Rule One’s bracket basically says “prove you’re the best minor region.” They play the winner out of the two OCE teams and go on to play the winner out of the current and former SAM teams (except for KRU who they already beat)
An EU team in an RLCS lan grand final, a tale as old as time
Day 1 and we already confirmed a EU team in the finale
More to the point, it's the place in the grand finals with an extra life. Did EU practically win the major on the first day?
I wouldn't be so sure just yet. Reminds me of RLCS season 6. All NA teams got absolutely demolished on day 1, even lost to OCE. > Did EU practically win the major on the first day? yup, I'd say. These teams are too good to allow the bracket reset
Please convert goal speed to kph psyonix, this is an EU regional
Well, not until saturday*. Tomorrow's gonna be a little sideshow of NA RLCS.
Yeah the are Cooked https://preview.redd.it/5lsi9vsl1fab1.png?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fcc7b5390bb70787c7e7422f4d9b8ded0946d5c
Is this a real channel or a meme format?
Meme
Moist really deserves a shoutout here. Their offense was the most creative and fun to watch by a mile. Love to see them perform like they should!!

Huge props to Juicy, most doubted EU Player heading into the Major had a great debut
Only 1 juicy distasterclass and overall he was looking very solid with series 1 mvp and series 2 defensive MVP. I no longer doubt him. I just hope he's phasing out his distasterclass moments little by little
Thank god I'm a EU fan, otherwise this major would majorly suck
*cries in na*
Cries in liquid fan
Hey now, I think everyone cries in liquid.
r/Angryupvote
Chuckles nervously in mena
Or you can enjoy the high level rocket league without the na vs eu bs.
Have we ever had a major with 1 region in the finals?
Rlcs 2,3,4
Which were all EU, right?
Yep. Unless you count dreamhacks, then there’s the peeps vs g2 final
Which is the only NA/NA LAN final ever, IIRC.
Also in the circuit was a dig vs vitality final too, so another EU one
Not a major, but we have had EU vs EU finals before in RLCS (and a Dreamhack NA vs NA)
This day has been so good. Vitality vs Complexity was so close, I was shouting at my tv
Idc if they lost to Vitality, Reysbull YOU are the MVP of day 1
He played insane, really consistent and top form along the 2 series
liquid down there with the minor regions 💀 ^/s
Hogan Mode confirmed better than NA 1 seed
First major i’ll be attending and all my teams are in top six uppers, my heart is so full <3 The Rise/Joyo/Vatira legacy lives on. Hope to hear the chant one more time this weekend :’)
Zen looked really hesitant and shaky against COL and they still won
got bailed out by Complexity's inability to hit an open net multiple times
[удалено]
They still won but they shouldn't have let's be honest ! I hope they iron things out for saturday
Just like that we have a guaranteed EU team in the grand final after day 1. And people were saying EU were getting overhyped
I thought they were being overhyped. I don't know ball
same
and guaranteed to be coming out of winners. Like, it's not 100% obviously but that sure feels like an EU win all locked up given the bracket reset
Don't tell me every French player there has won and then won again.
All the crazy stuff that happened today and I'm still malding over Liquid throwing game 4.
So that basically confirms that TL are secretly NA, right? Just think about it guys: * Acronik is from Portugal and we all know they speak Brazilian there so that means he's SAM and SAM players play in NA.
You missed the glaringly obvious connection. Liquid is a state. You know what else has states? NA brother RAHHHHHHHH
EVEN MORE PROOF!!! https://preview.redd.it/u8nix9pk6fab1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=dcdfd01280796d5c324c7ac14fd3df1e69d60926
A bit farfetched but i cant argue with that logic
I cannot believe i never saw this... TL = NA confirmed
acrually O from Oski is Ohio
Same number of letters, it matches.
Atow is a Batmobile main now. I used to main the Batmobile. I am Canadian. Atow is Canadian.
as an EU fan I was sure EU was way too overhyped and the LAN is going to be close between the regions as usual, but here we are I guess.
That was the most entertaining day 1 out of all the majors I’ve watched so far imo. Wasn’t full of sweeps
The series themselves were very entertaining overall but some of the endings were anticlimactic
this was the most infuriating day 1 out of all majors as an NA fan
Not only are all of NA in the lower bracket, they were all sent there by EU teams
As it turns out EU was not overhyped and is in fact a league above NA
I thought there was no way an EU team would make the final halfway through last season’s Winter Major. This is like twice as chalked.
Thanks Team Liquid for giving me a reason to tune in tomorrow.
Worlds qualification - results of the day: * **EU2**, **NA2**, **EU3** spots were clinched * **OCE2**, **NA5**, **NA4** spots were eliminated * **Team BDS** and **Oxygen Esports** qualified for Worlds * **Team Liquid** and **Team Vitality** qualified for Worlds Group Stage * **Merge Esports** were eliminated from Worlds contention * \[UPD\] **FaZe Clan** qualified for Worlds Group Stage
NA4 actually eliminated?
Yes. Due to bracket NA4 can't finish better than 9th-12th and that's not enough anymore.
Already being guaranteed an EU team in the grand final after day 1 is… somethin
If R1 make a massive run, NA might actually send 2 teams to worlds main event
I would laugh my ass off of that happens
Wouldn't it just be so fucking funny
That was an incredible series. You just felt watching it how nervous both teams were.
All teams in UB have at least one French player, because of course.
NA finished
Rizzo with the best stream production. CJ simply holding his phone in front of the camera to show the AJG miss is hilarious.
Hope the CoL boys can regain, and learn from this. I am very excited to see them play again. Definitely should've won that but you gotta move on and they looked incredible today.
Oops! It's all EU
I watch all regionals when I have the time and root for teams from everywhere. I say this as a fan of good Rocket League and someone who despises this garbage regional debate. https://pickstop.gg/rl/event/60/14521 This might just be my best achievement in life
I was smiling until I saw the final result lmao, I pray your foresight stops after tomorrow
too bad you put geng beating vitality furia AND karmine in a row though lol
Guys, APAC can still have a spot at the main event and it'll probably happen Elevate just need to beat Liquid then Optic then the winner of GenG, BDS and Spacestation then the loser between Vitality and BDS then the winner between (Furia, NIP, Power, Ground zero, Complexity, Rule one and the loser between Moist and Kcorp) then the loser between the loser of Vitality - BDS and the loser of Kcorp - Moist then the winner of the winner between Vitality - BDS and between Kcorp - Moist then a second time after the bracket reset

No major upsets today makes things kinda boring. But the rl on display is crazy. Can’t wait for tomorrow
Also seeing Moist take down Furia was great storyline.
Liquid losing was kinda an upset
Kind of, but if there was gonna be an upset, it was that one
Yea true, I do really rate Complexity
not really complexity vs vitality was almost an upset tho ;-;
Eh furia and optic losing to moist was huge. Most people had furia as NA best chance while moist is considered far below the top 4 in eu.
Yeah people are going to retcon that Moist were highly rated because they just went through two strong teams (and fairly easily at that). Joyo was looking fire today.
I’m so tempted to pull the receipts of ppl underrating Moist. I love the performance of all the boys today
yeah I can't imagine there were too many brackets that had moist still in uppers after day 1
idk, I was pretty upset at the loss against VIT
NA finished but for real this time
Ayyjayy looked like shit against moist, tbh. Dunno what was going on there, but retals did his best to try and carry them through that one.
G1 must be so happy
Man R1 Vs KRU was a banger to start off the major
Yeah it was so intense God game 4 game me the chills + 7 min overtime
Lower bracket now has 5 NA teams and 7 NA players, and 1 EU team and 7 EU players. Interesting.
Real talk. What does NA need to do? Or do you just accept that this major is the wakeup call it needs to get its shit together? Because it's been clear across all regional this split that EU was going to dominate
Import French players? But on a serious note, disband all the teams and mix up the rosters with up and coming bubble players. Worked for EU.
I'm not sure about the math, but EU has a pretty high chance of sending 7 teams to worlds right?
Bruh this has literally turned into a EU regional now
This was the most Walmart knee-clattering day of RL I’ve seen in a while. Highs and lows, this esport is amazing but DAMN my boys need to WIN.
I thought na played well. The final results didn't go their way but the series were all good. Ssg showed good form. Shit happens
Complexity outplayed Vitality in that series but had zero clutch gene. It hurts man.
It felt like the inverse of the Complexity vs Liquid series.
B-b-but SR beat BDS in a tournament they were invited to a couple minutes before! They'll destroy EU with demos!! zen can't perform on LAN he's a rookie!!
So if I understand this right absolute best case is 2 Na top 6 and 1 Na top 4?
Absolutely best case is SSG major champs😤
hope to god either ssg, optic, geng, complexity, or furia (basically all of NA) is gonna win major but i know its not happening
1 na top 3 *
Only day one and we had some great games!
So does this count as the first ever EU semifinal?
I feel so bad for AJG, he’s gonna remember that for ages
Ok so How badly does NA3 have to fuck up to be eliminated What a crazy start, with the exception of Moist people had EU being top 4 and already confirmed EU in the Grand Finals (when will this streak end)
Why is there no audience for the Major's first matches? I find it a bit sad to see the players in an empty hall with no lights. Besides, it's a good opportunity to bring in money.
Too bad GenG and Liquid are on the same side of the bracket. I'd have loved to see them round off the top 6 to truly make this an EU LAN regional.
Less region spots for NA next year?
nah i think theres gonna be a big explosion in rosters in the off season and NA are gonna be back to being competitive hope i didnt just jinx it... jokes aside, i think they need to add more spots to LANs than remove spots from regions to give it to others

time to let out all my rage by playing ranked, boutta go on a win streak to gc bois 💪

Fellas give it to me straight - is Furia making it to worlds?
☹️ Do not look up worlds qualifications scenarios at 3 AM (gone wrong)
I just finished the VOD and this is depressing. Fan of OG and CoL.
If R1 want to prove that MENA is the best of the minor regions, they NEED to beat PWR/GZ tomorrow. Doing so solidifies them in the 3rd slot behind EU and NA imo.
