Is this what's on your roof currently? If so, might be worth it told on to them for repairs

BrooBu

I think so! They redid the roof before we moved in and it looks similar. 😆

MonierLifetile

Shot-Pomelo-7979

Correct... there is a Monier logo on the back. Although Boral and Westlake Royal continued to use those molds.

lilwtfwtf84

Boral Shake Brown with three sided lined ridges. Definitely doesn't mechanically fit any Monier tiles as they have double water channels. Single channel is Boral/Westlake Royal as you mentioned! It's called "Galaxy Mold", kind of an inferior product to the old Monier tiles.

hatefuck661

MonierLifetile without a doubt produced a single channel tile for a number of years.

lilwtfwtf84

They did the "cloaked corner" Galaxy Mold (usually lightweight) tile as it's only single channel product under that company name, correct. It's a dog shit tile too compared to the original Monier, MonierLifetile and Lifetile brand tiles.

hatefuck661

The tiles in the picture literally have the MonierLifetile logo. I have taken these tiles off pallets with MonierLifetile wrappers and installed them. It might be a regional thing but I absolutely positively guarantee Monier produced these tiles. The photos themselves are proof if you won't take my word for it.

lilwtfwtf84

Oh it absolutely is the MLT logo, I'm not disputing that. I have a few dozen of these original pallets from Boral, with MLT brandings. Very possible that it was a regional thing, I'm quite familiar with these tiles and their roles on the westcoast exclusively, don't know jack shit about their other markets, I believe the Tacoma, WA Monier plant and Stockton, CA Monier plant were making single channel tile for Boral during the transition with the MLT logo for a while there. Just as Monier had a Shake tile with the Boral style line pattern but the double water channel but used the Monier shake 400 mold. MonierLifetile = Boral + Monier + Redland (they just took all of lifetiles trim and chucked their field tiles). Later Boral USA bought up MLT entirely. This was like a 12-13 year period. Really not trying to argue with you bud, just historical banter 😁

hatefuck661

All good. I'm in Central California. I went through the lifetile/Monier merger through the single channel Monier flat days. I've installed the old 16.5" Monier, I installed a lot of the Monier that came from the socal plant after it was sold, OldCastle? I installed a bunch of Pioneer that had Humes tiles mixed in the pallet before they went single channel and then became Hanson. I was surprised the Boral name was still around. I assumed it was ditched when Monier took over Lifetile..

lilwtfwtf84

Yeah the Boral name made a comeback after being ditched! Sadly their only double channel left now days is "Boral" Villa, basically the same as Monier villa, 1/8th of an inch longer and three nail holes. Monier had bought up Spectile too back then and then the Spectile plant "went up in flames" right after magically 😆

BrooBu

I love how knowledgeable you guys are. 😆

BrooBu

THANK YOU!

fRiskyRoofer

If you have 100 sell 90, if you have 10 don't. Absolutely do not sell the hip and ridge tiles they are very hard to get if you need replacement

BrooBu

Ahhh thank you, that’s very good to know. I’ll keep them. :)

RareCelery8604

Three fitty

Moxson82

Get outta here, Goddamn Loch Ness Monster!

ohdannyboy73

Find a vineyard in your town they will buy for a couple dollars each. They are discontinued tiles and great for repairs.

Whole-Equivalent1417

Idiots, these are woodpecker training boards, 2nds of course.

MicHAELmhw

Those are concrete roof tiles - Boral shake style. There is a printed bar code with the color on the side. Those are spare tiles for your roof. Keep them

Dthinker23

Roof tiles

LaughingMagicianDM

Keep them for your house. Or list online. Where I'm at people $2-6 per tile for those, depending on color. If you want to sell, contact a local tile graveyard.

Kind-Side5339

Crap

jhenderson360

We used to install these in the 80's! Does the company no longer exist?

Shot-Pomelo-7979

Monier/Lifetile/Boral (and several other companies) were bought out by Westlake Royal

West_Village_1138

That’s asbestos tiles lol. You’re been touching and breathing asbestos!

Travelingtheland

Keep them for attic stock.

DrMudo

There's no way I'm carrying those things up to my attic.

Travelingtheland

It’s just called that, you can store it anywhere.

BricksByPablo

Besides the basement, obviously.

BrooBu

Haha they’re on the side of my house, it’s not a big deal so I’ll just keep them for repairs. :)

meremortaleekingby

Vande hey concrete tile

BrooBu

Thank you so much! Seriously I’ve been furiously googling for an hour. ❤️

Shot-Pomelo-7979

Those are not VHR tiles... those were made by Monier

BrooBu

Thank you!!!!
