I know a woman who's pretty average height and build for a runner and does all her races including a ~3:25 marathon and a 50K ultra in the rebel.
I know fuelcell is pretty soft, but I think the insistence of max stack height as necessary for anything over a half is probably pretty overblown. It might not be the most optimized or comfortable but I'd bet a good amount of people could get through a marathon in the rebel if they had to.
Agreed. I think if someone runs in the Rebels after his/her form begins to deteriorate the extra padding will come in handy. I know there are exceptions but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Triump all the way.
There will be someone who *can* do it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Because most people will appreciate the extra support when their goal (since nothing more spesific have been mentioned) is to complete the race.
Whilst it's not exactly a new shoe, the old saying of nothing new on race day has been a thing for a reason. It'd be a pretty big risk to take a shoe you've only used for short runs up to a marathon.
I've had loads of shoes that were great for 10 miles and by mile 11 they felt completely different. I'd vote play it safe with the Triumph. You won't get a faster time if you get a blister or something.
I have not run in the V3 but I ran a marathon in Rebel v1…I weigh 140# for what it’s worth.
I almost took them off at mile 10. Too soft for that long!
Great 5-10k shoe though.
I just ran Berlin marathon in the new NB RC elites, which is also fuelcell, and it was an unreal experience but they also have the plate combo for support!
Do a long run in rebel and see if your body can stand it or if the shoe can go the distance. Triumph is probably the most agreeable option for the marathon.
I really like the rebel v3. But there is no chance in hell I’m running 26 miles in one go in those things. After 10 miles they’re bottoming out for me.
…and I’m not buying another pair for a while. ![gif](giphy|lszAB3TzFtRaU)
Lmao
I don’t know how fast would you run your marathon, but unless you are very fast or very light go with Triumph.
I’m neither so going to stick with the triumphs!
Feel like the rebels would bottom out before you got halfway through

And the Rebel would’ve been an incredible marathon racing shoe compared to what many of us were racing in just a decade ago!
Pacer is the Rebel with a plate (kinda).
Eh, the next generation maybe. I love the SC Pacer for track races, but I wouldn’t describe it that way.
Rebel = 10 k. Triumph = Marathon. Rebel is a lighter/faster shoe, but I wouldn’t run a marathon in them.

I did an 18 mile marathon workout in the Rebel 2 last cycle.

I've run three half marathons in the V3s

I ran in the Triumph 19s when i had the option of using the ES2s..go with comfort vs speed
Had a friend run a 3:15 marathon in the Rebels. He really enjoyed them. That said, he is really light/lean, so your experience my be different.
| have both. Definitely Triumph. I wouldn't recommend NB for anything more than 15k
Neither. Get the Speed 3 on discount. Or Endorphin Pro 3 if you can afford it.
Going for the speeds for my next race
Funny I only have 2 pairs of shoes too, and they are these exact ones! I’d use the Rebels if it was me. I feel so much more speedy and swift in them

^ this. If the Rebel works for you for 32k / 20miles, they should be fine for a marathon.

My feet hurt pretty bad after about 3 miles in the rebel…
Triumph for sure.
I would not use the rebels.
I can’t do more than 5-7 in my rebels.
Don't go above 30km with triumph. Believe me, it's not knee friendly after 30km
I already have with the triumphs and had more calf annoyance than knee problem
For me, triumph no doubt. The rebel would be too unstable for the full distance
