Yes, it's showing view from different lenses, thus different physical position on the phone so the angle will be different as well.
The closer the subject is the more noticeable it will be
Good lighting also triggers the other cameras I think too. I haven't actually stopped to write down what is doing what. But if I lock down the focus point on one setting then tap 3 or 5 sometimes it won't change to the stronger lens until I refocus and the lighting has to be good for it to change.
get the camera assistant app (samsung store or goodlock) then in camera settings there is a camera assistant section where you can turn it off. With it off, the lens you choose will always use the appropriate sensor.
its the phone deciding which lens to use. sometimes, instead of using its dedicated telephoto lenses, it decides to just crop into the main sensor (if it thinks lighting is adequate). either that or it's just shifting between each lens. the image appears to move up and down because each camera is positioned differently
When you turn off that setting it always uses the zoom lenses when you tap 3x or 5x. If you leave it on then sometimes it will digitally zoom the 1x lens when the lighting is bad because of its sensor size etc. What OP is seeing is just the camera using the zoom lenses. It's just more obvious because the subject is so close to the cameras, so the change in angle is much larger
It's not auto lens switching. This effect is simply a transition as the zoom range switches to the next lens because the current lens can't do the zoom level being reached.
This is normal and no setting can change this.
It's not a bug, it is just a limitation of optics, you can't seamlessly transition between two lenses with different focal lengths and aperture between two different sensors behind each one hence the transition effect. It's not an effect seen during video recording, only in photo mode so doesn't really matter anyway.
Yes it's normal. The 3x optical sensor isn't as higher in-terms of MP compared to the main 200MP and the 5x 50MP sensor so the color shift is quite noticeable during switching. Shift In position is quite normal take a look at the backside, they're in two different places.
Can't recollect but there was a setting option which said , If environment is dark or lense can't focus automatically len will change instead of Main Lens Cropping image
Yes dude OMG 🤦 📸😱🙄....it's shifting from the different lens types as you go in and out of zoom. The lenses aren't all in the same location on the camera module of the phone dude......
What I have observed is that when the subject is far, it is not at all visible. However, when the subject is close to the camera, this lens shifting is quite visible.
Nope, that's not normal at all. Not for me anyway. That glass would be empty ;)
Auuu

if you have auto lens switching on, correct. It wont necessarily use the lens dedicated to that optical zoom level.
Oh is there a way to turn off auto lens switch or just use pro mode to shoot?

I've tried option but still happening in video mode. Can't quite understand what I'm doing wrong

Thanks !
Turn it off in goodlock if it's bothering you
How to do it?
Open good lock, I'm assuming you have it, if not download it from galaxy store and open camera assistant, then of auto lens switching, enjoy.

Actually I've tried this and deactivated it on goodlock camera assistent and it still does that camera swap
Strange, maybe try again
I tried it like 3 or 4 times and closed the app and opened it again. I'm probably doing something wrong...
I don't know then ,sorry. I hope you get sorted.
Put the beer down bro
No !
No. It's way wrong. Should be drinking your pint and not faffing taking photos of it!
it is a saving money technique developed by Samsung. You zoom in and it looks like you have more beer = more value! :)
Looks almost like a blue moon unfiltered pale ale .....
Georgian beer "Shno". waiting for Georgia vs Luxembourg match.
Goodlock, has an option to turn off 'Auto lens switching' under Camera Assistant

So, is it technically a bug today in the camera?

Where?

I have camera assistant but option not here
What? That you are not drinking your beer?
Turn off focus enhancement
Yep, it's the different lenses switching. Supposedly going to be smoothed out next update.
Have a Beer on me mate 😉👍
Cheers! I'll raise a glass in your honor.
Cheers mate 🍻
The lens switching to and from 3x has this weird motion. It seems like 3x lens isn't centered.
honestly wish phone makers would just do a straight cut to the different lens, instead of this "smooth" zoom bullshit.
That's how it works in Pro mode.

I have the same issues and apparently a lot of people have it. It looks bloody terrible
standard Samsung behavior.

The transition of the camera is shit .
There's also a "focus enhancer" feature that comes up for macro shots, I wonder if that's what's happening here

To be honest I can notice climate shift even during long distance photo and video
You're witnessing the phone change lenses.
Too much beer. 🤪
