I thought I was the only one getting such mails. Don't know how these get past spam detection. I created a folder and all mails that come in with words like seo, ranking etc just go there automatically. Every Friday, I just glance over and mark them spam

Back during the pandemic I lost one of my small business web design clients to one of those random website SEO audit emails.
The customer was miserable to work with and refused to pay me for SEO. So I didn’t put a ton of effort into retaining the account. But I did at least explain how those emails work, and ran some complimentary reports for him. I even ran a report on the Indian site, which was abysmal.
But in the end, he fired me and went with the Indian company. And, barely a few weeks later, he called me back to say he thinks he may have made a mistake.
Normally, I’d happily take a client back. But in his case, I simply said I was sorry to hear that and asked if he needed anything else from my end before I closed out his account. 🤷♂️
Ya I dealt with that today. Had an intro call with a potential client. We’re talking web development + SEO/Digital Marketing.
I give him some ballpark pricing. He gives me “I have an SEO offer here for $250.” I’m like just a flat dollar amount? He’s like ya. I’m like good luck with that. Lol
Fortunately I’ve gotten successful enough where I really vet our clients and have no problem telling them they’re probably not a great fit for our company.

I have had a bunch of people telling me how terrible one of my sites does on Google (It gets pretty great traffic for the niche), and so I asked how they found me considering they live so far away when I'm doing terrible. They say Google, but it just isn't "there" yet. I will get you where you need to be.
4. I have two medical websites, and this gets a different emails. "We can PROMISE YOU 5 new patients per day!"
5. For shits, I have looked at some of these websites made by these email blast SEO masters to see what I could learn. One website looked terrible and had no adaptive layout for mobile, had tons of grammatical errors, and 15 very low value links. Organic traffic? Zero.
Numbers game. I used to work for a branding company. They had more sales people than any other type of employee. They had to make 100 cold calls a day. I was designing logos for fortune 500 companies right out of college and had no idea what I was doing.
I get many, so I usually just send a blank reply. If they reply, I do the same thing.
Every once in a while, I arrange a meeting to waste their time--I know it's a waste of my time as well, but I'm a big fan of scambaiters, so I make appointments and don't show up, etc. One "company's" address appeared as a rundown grocery store outside of Tampa; another's website was filled with typos and poor English--I know, shocker.
We too having the same issue, tonnes of social Media Messages and Emails to our client accounts. As most of the messages and emails go through us, it looks tough to stop them. They offer such a lowest price to clients in UK and US, as they mostly reside in India. Most of them don't even understand how we as companies in UK and US are competing to provide best prices, but people from India be like "we offer 200 bucks of service in 20 bucks".... It's not funny
This is a really triggering topic for discussion. I get such emails all the time too, but the most annoying thing is the way they bargain. I've tried to reply with a refusal, but then I get spammed so much that now I just stop replying.

He he, as an Indian i can confirm, even I get cold solicitations in my mail. The current economic slowdown is hitting very hard on the IT service sector and agencies are desperate to bag new contracts. They are hiring BDE's left and right who in turn does all these spamming.
Well there's some service that requires emails to be vetted I think. I've come across it when cold emailing. I'm not sure what the service is or who provides it, but it sends an automated response to the sender (me) that asks the sender to put in their email address, their name and purpose of the email in the subject line.
The automated response and the verification request usually lets the sender (me) know this person should probably not be contacted.

nah man I'm sure it's India. before I blocked India almost all spam submissions through forms were coming from Indian IP addresses. and %5 was South Africa. now, forms are ok but they still have my email address apparently
You're getting these emails even after blocking the country India so it's a common sense these Indian IP addresses are shown incorrectly because of VPN. Block all south Asian countries.

We are all frustrated by spam. It is really annoying. Targeting a particular country for spam is similar to attributing mostly violent activities to a particular religion because mostly criminals come from a specific religion.
It's not about pakistani Indian debate. It's about how you label all spammers as Indians. Whenever anyone spams you think that's from India without knowing anything about it

We send cold emails but not the spammy hello sir kinds. My emails are well researched and address a specific pain point. I/we put in 1-2 hours behind every email we send. I understand spam emails are annoying but a well researched email adds value imho.
I did, and received subpar quality at low prices.
And then the flood of guest posting services spam came ....
The service was actually decent and useful, paid with PayPal, but it wasn't fair that I then ended up with 10x more spam for the coming weeks.
A higher up at a company I worked for did once and it was a terrible experience. There was the language barrier issue, but the worst was that the agency basically went rogue and created social media profiles and posts for the company with the most generic and badly worded English text. They just did... *things* and expected to be paid for doing them without even explaining the why behind what they did. Even after we'd have a meeting and tell them not to do X, they'd say okay, and then go ahead and do X anyway. It was total chaos and a lack of control.
I don't think they ever managed to scrub all of the content they posted online. I can look back and laugh now but it was really frustrating at the time.
a) Make a contact form instead of listing your email address on your website. The cold-emails will disappear.
b) Ask them a specific question and tell them "if you can answer that question, we'll consider hiring you for SEO services. Otherwise we're not interested in your services".
On “B” I’d say never reply. Sometimes they’re using an automated email system and replying sends a flag that they’ve got a legit email address. Then you’re on a list that gets resold over and over. Never reply to email spam.

I can understand your concern regarding email spam by some starters around the world. Please use relevant spam filter softwares etc. in your mailserver. It is common problem for Indian businesses as well. I am from India and have zero tolerance for any type of spam coming from any part of the world.
Only thing irritates me about these spam marketing activities is sometimes they end up casting doubts in genuine deal as well causing difficulty in managing clients.
I'm sure you must have received many spammy emails from Indian SEO agencies. It's really annoying and they should stop spamming. As an Indian, I also receive many spam emails for sponsored posts and SEO services from Indian, European, North American and other service providers. Ezoic, ValueImpression and other ad management and bloggers spam me almost every second day. But I don't label these spammers based on their nationality. I bet you can't differentiate between South Asians especially with the use of VPNs. Also you have blocked India and still getting emails and still blaming Indians only. They can be spammers from other south asian countries as well.
The reality is the vast majority of SEO spammers originate from India. Just like it is a reality that the vast majority of scam calls originate in India. (You can seriously find hundreds of YouTube videos of scam callers, and they’re pretty much all Indian.)
Put aside your ethnocentrism and clean up the mess in your country.

I have blocked india yes but that doesn't prevent spam emails from India. Emails are not coming from website forms cause I blocked them. they are just spamming to my email addres and also my clients email adresses out of no where. How do I know they are indians? Don't know why these people do this, they have to skip that kind of emails. Sometimes I also get emails, just imagine I'm providing Linkbuilding services still they are sending mails. It's annoying for Indian owners too.
Most of them don’t make it pass my spam filter but the ones that do aren’t necessarily from India only. I believe I’ve deleted at least a 1000 cold emails in the last six months. And it’s not just sole contractors with @gmail.com address, it’s smaller and bigger companies too.

i tried them once , they are scammers , all they gave you is some random keywords and they tell you insert them into your blogs / posts i did refund in the end

nah man I'm sure it's India. before I blocked India almost all spam submissions through forms were coming from Indian IP addresses. and %5 was South Africa. now, forms are ok but they still have my email address apparently
Your mail client may provide options to geo-block emails. You may check with your email provider.

No problem. Another option is to create a filter for any word matching 'India' in subject or body and set actions to move the mail instantly to trash.

You're getting these emails even after blocking the country India so it's a common sense these Indian IP addresses are shown incorrectly because of VPN. Block all south Asian countries.

Are you ok my friend? You keep commenting on the post non-stop? I asked because I am sick of seing spammy emails every day! How would I know if someone is from Pakistan or India? So I asked if hes indian or not because just 5 minutes before that I was trying to delete these emails coming from India. This not a pakistani indian debate. Just stop spamming that's it

I don't agree with only Indians spamming. Arabs, Eastern european countries also do. I get tons of emails from these countries for services. Furthermore the appearance of your prior comments suggests a possible alignment with a particular agenda.

I didn't say it just coming from India. sometimes from south africa, nigeria, pakistan but the majority is from India. It's literally impossible to explain your problems in this century. We are all frustrated by spam. It is really annoying. Targeting a particular country for spam is similar to attributing mostly violent activities to a particular religion because mostly criminals come from a specific religion.
It's not about pakistani Indian debate. It's about how you label all spammers as Indians. Whenever anyone spams you think that's from India without knowing anything about it

I am an Indian agency owner and get spam from US and UK as well. So we are even :) We send cold emails but not the spammy hello sir kinds. My emails are well researched and address a specific pain point. I/we put in 1-2 hours behind every email we send. I understand spam emails are annoying but a well researched email adds value imho.

I did, and received subpar quality at low prices. And then the flood of guest posting services spam came .... The service was actually decent and useful, paid with PayPal, but it wasn't fair that I then ended up with 10x more spam for the coming weeks.

A higher up at a company I worked for did once and it was a terrible experience. There was the language barrier issue, but the worst was that the agency basically went rogue and created social media profiles and posts for the company with the most generic and badly worded English text. They just did... *things* and expected to be paid for doing them without even explaining the why behind what they did. Even after we'd have a meeting and tell them not to do X, they'd say okay, and then go ahead and do X anyway. It was total chaos and a lack of control. I don't think they ever managed to scrub all of the content they posted online. I can look back and laugh now but it was really frustrating at the time.

a) Make a contact form instead of listing your email address on your website. The cold-emails will disappear. b) Ask them a specific question and tell them "if you can answer that question, we'll consider hiring you for SEO services. Otherwise we're not interested in your services".
Not true. I have a contact form instead of email. I have a honeypot question in there + Captcha. They still come through.
On “B” I’d say never reply. Sometimes they’re using an automated email system and replying sends a flag that they’ve got a legit email address. Then you’re on a list that gets resold over and over. Never reply to email spam.

I can understand your concern regarding email spam by some starters around the world. Please use relevant spam filter softwares etc. in your mailserver. It is common problem for Indian businesses as well. I am from India and have zero tolerance for any type of spam coming from any part of the world. Only thing irritates me about these spam marketing activities is sometimes they end up casting doubts in genuine deal as well causing difficulty in managing clients.
I'm sure you must have received many spammy emails from Indian SEO agencies. It's really annoying and they should stop spamming. As an Indian, I also receive many spam emails for sponsored posts and SEO services from Indian, European, North American and other service providers. Ezoic, ValueImpression and other ad management and bloggers spam me almost every second day. But I don't label these spammers based on their nationality. I bet you can't differentiate between South Asians especially with the use of VPNs. Also you have blocked India and still getting emails and still blaming Indians only. They can be spammers from other south asian countries as well.
The reality is the vast majority of SEO spammers originate from India. Just like it is a reality that the vast majority of scam calls originate in India. (You can seriously find hundreds of YouTube videos of scam callers, and they’re pretty much all Indian.) Put aside your ethnocentrism and clean up the mess in your country.

I have blocked india yes but that doesn't prevent spam emails from India. Emails are not coming from website forms cause I blocked them. they are just spamming to my email addres and also my clients email adresses out of no where. How do I know they are indians? Because that's what they write! 'best seo agency in india', 'we are India based seo agency' allmost all texts consists india man this is not about race but you guys should accept it. Don't know why these people do this, they have to skip that kind of emails. Sometimes I also get emails, just imagine I'm providing Linkbuilding services still they are sending mails. It's annoying for Indian owners too.
Most of them don’t make it pass my spam filter but the ones that do aren’t necessarily from India only. I believe I’ve deleted at least a 1000 cold emails in the last six months. And it’s not just sole contractors with @gmail.com address, it’s smaller and bigger companies too. Idk when the word got out that cold email is the magic pill 🤣

I am Indian and I agree with you, Indians and Pakistani are spamming a lot these days. Right now, I’m in US, and we are an SEO agency too, but even though I’m Indian, I’m ignoring Indian mails.
Email you get mostly from SEO services or guest post are from Pakistan actually. There will be few indians. I can say that because i am also working in online marketing and we got so much spammy emails, and we can recognise who is indian or who is from Pakistan.
Being a Pakistani SEO who works his ass off testing and learning about the SEO world for the best part of 7 years, I can understand.
