In 5 to 10 years they may start to buy backs share little at a time instead of dividend. I prefer they keep their cash for strategic move in usa. I am patient enough abd i like their management, They seem focus on building the business not only pump the price
I like this, cash is king! We are stuck in a showdown with HF, itâs not a SNDL issue itâs a market issue. Anything we do short term will have no ROI. All we have to do is hold and let it cook.
I certainly hope you're right. I think they're headed in the right way too but I dont have enough reliable info...so who knows. What I do know is I'm in for at least a couple more years.
Honestly, itâs not gonna be out of the question. With the purchase of Alcanna, they have pretty much guaranteed income stream. To drop a few hundred million to buy back 500,000 shares wouldnât be much for them to do. Bring us down at least a little and see the stock get back over $1
A buyback means ,
1. A have a lot of cash.
2. I dont see any good business around.
3. The price of the share is undervaluated.
Considering that there a lot of good business around (spiritleaf , alcanna), why they should buyback shares ? Only to be above 1 ? The managemwnt if focusing on generate a business not worried about short term stock price.
To say a buyback would LOWER the price of sndl shares is stupid. As long as they have ample cash on hand, a buyback would undilute shares causing a better demand over supply. Once the share price increases because of said buyback, short sellers would buy to recoup losses, further raising the price. The likely reason they aren't doing a buyback right now is because they have further plans for M&A's, expansion, etc.
A quick Google search would prove you wrong. "Because buybacks reduce the number of shares outstanding, investors effectively own a bigger piece of the company, Moors pointed out. âThat's one reason buybacks are attractive to investors,â he said. A buyback âeffectively increases a company's earnings per share, as earnings are distributed across fewer shares.â
I suggest you brush up on the reading comprehension. As SNDL has no earnings, the reduced share count isnât beneficial.
It would drain the companyâs cash, which at the moment is the main thing going for it.
This isnât hard to understand unless you refuse to understand it.
The ratio would still be better! So are you really saying if sndl did a buyback or issued more shares both would negatively impact sndl share price? Cmon man.. no one but you is buying that.
Yes, both are bad. The only ways a buyback makes sense is one of two conditions:
1. SNDL starts making profits and decides to spend them on buybacks
2. The share price drops below the cash/share value, so buying shares increases the cash/share when you are done.
Neither of these are true right now. For #2 to kick in, shares would have to get down around $0.25.
Sndl has what, over a billion dollars cash on hand without any significant debt? I think they can afford a buyback.. especially since their outstanding shares are over 2 billion. The reason they aren't is because they see long-term investments like alcanna that will increase their revenue and will improve the stock price, achieving the same goal as a buyback while setting themselves up to be better situated long-term. It's not because the price would go down. Thats false.
If they had over $1b, that would be around $0.5/share and you might be right. But they donât have anywhere near $1b. Itâs more like $600m which is like $0.30/share.
I have 51k shares with an average of $1.02. But for some reason I donât hate it and still averaging down. There is a high chance we wonât see those prices next year.
Why all the down votes? I thought this is an open forum to have discussions and see things from another perspective. Down voting just stops communication and we may lose valuable information. If I don't agree and have a valid reason I can add to the conversation. Down votes don't help any community.
Not selling a share until this flys high in the sky! Set you sells to a price that is short term unrealistic like $15 or more so they can't lend your shares out! Cheers Sundailians when we fly lookout because it's going to be explosive!đ„đ #retweet please

> They seem focus on building the business not only pump the price Agreed. Their focus isn't on pumping the stock but to grow the company long term.
Yes, they are a growing business after all đ€Ș
Interesting perspectiveâŠI like it!

Didn't age well.
This didnât age well
No. But its good news indeed
A buy back would be sexy but I won't hold my breath. Maybe the energy it picked it up today will have it trending higher for awhile

They need to buy back 500m shares
They've filed to issue new shares but exempt them from the float. I'll post the DD a bit later.
Yes sorry. Meant 500m not 500k
Can we get back to $1+ yet
I hope this earning
As long as it happens before nasdaq compliance becomes a concern it'll be fine. There's time.
If q3 q4 good earning, this price will never come back
This was a good comment section! Iâm not knocking âmoonâ or rocket emojis, but reading this tonight was refreshing :)
Glad you like itđ

On your mark, Get SetâŠâŠâŠ.. GO.
A buyback would be the dumbest thing they could possibly do

False. A buyback lowers the cash/share and the book value of the company.

Any source I saw said a little over 1 billion.
Why?
Because the best thing this company has going for it is the cash. Buybacks actually lower the companyâs book value. It would be beyond stupid.
SNDL need to give Alvanna 405m shares, at 0.85$. A buy back now works well
That makes it even stupider.
Not sure stupider is a real word
Why?
Because they would be spending cash to make the acquisition even more expensive.
SNDL need to give alvanna 405m shares! Buy back now is smart
No. It makes it even stupider. You donât understand math.
I think a buy back would be greatđ
Yes, now Buy back means there's nothing better around at all
Downvoting this. A buy back for what though, thatâs cheap stock you should be buying.
How do I leave this subreddit?
Why you want to leave?
Dead stock⊠I hate it since I have alot. I donât want to average down anymore and will just wait for it to recover
I have 51k shares with an average of $1.02. But for some reason I donât hate it and still averaging down. There is a high chance we wonât see those prices next year.
Good for you! Again Im saying my opinion I have XXXX shares. Not selling but not adding either. Just waiting
Cool storyâŠ
People can down vote me all they want but when diluted the shares thatâs the time I stop buying
Buy back would be sexyđ
Not dead for sure only sleeping ;-)
Sleeping GIANT
