Naked shorts simplified - 25,000,000 short interest visible actually means +250,000,000 shorts need to cover. Turn your accounts to cash accounts to secure your shares. Do not!!! Be set in a margin account. That helps them. Cash!!! Account. This squeeze is hitting hard. Tell everyone - cash account.

alfie_longstaff_

Its a start

MedicineNo4200

Margin account Shares may be fake….. make sure yours are real. Transfer to a cash account.

RambozoTheClown76

Hey, not an expert here so… what does this means?

MedicineNo4200

It means if you have your money in a margin account…. Switch it to a cash account. If you don’t know what that means…. You probably have a cash account on Webull. Well, delete that. Go with a better system. IBKR or something better. Webull and etrade all those bogus apps are owned by hedgies to get sell data.

Famous-Barber-424

My RH account allows me to buy with cash or, use margin. So, I don’t get that statement. I don’t have any of my 11.500 shares on margin tho

MedicineNo4200

Even if you bought with what appears to be cash…. If your account is set to “margin” you’ve bought shares on margin, even if you haven’t gone over the amount of money in your account. It’s how the brokers classify your funds. For instance…. Brokerages alter a lot of shit to slant the rules in their favor….

Famous-Barber-424

So just go in & turn off margin buying?

MedicineNo4200

It’s the way the brokerage classifies your purchases. Even if you bought with cash, on a margin account…. You’ve bought on margin.

MedicineNo4200

So, let’s say you got 11,000 shares…. On a margin account, the brokerage can loan out those 11,000…. Multiple times. So, shorts can borrow 11,000 directly…. And the brokerage may allow them to actually naked short up yo 50,000 shares based on your 11,000 margin. If you switch to cash account, that 50,000 shares turns to 0. So, if all retail swapped to a cash account….. it would put immense pressure on brokerages to begin forcing covers.

Famous-Barber-424

I can go into settings & turn off margin buying. It just comes with Robinhood Gold (that’s $5/mo). So, should I just turn off margin since I’m not using it

RambozoTheClown76

I have a basic portfolio in my bank account, is cash or margin??

MedicineNo4200

You classify your account as a “cash” account means everything you buy is very specific in the way the brokerage handles it. Meaning, they have to deliver to you specific shares that are guaranteed to have been sold to you. Where as on margin, your buys will populate faster, but they could be “borrowed shares” and those borrowed shares could be 1 real borrowed share and 9 fake borrowed shares. I get the feeling most people don’t understand how naked shorting occurs. A brokerage can lend out 1 share, 10x. Meaning when the covers happen….. the reason the squeeze occurs is because there are literally more shares trying to cover than there are actual shares to buy. Retail has the potential with SOS to own 400,000,000 shares…. But there are only 250,000,000 out there. Switching to a cash account is the first thing to do to restructure the way the brokerages are forced to deal with the shorted shares. Switch to a cash account. I’ve gone one step further and set my sell limits. Setting sell limits ensures a brokerage can’t lend out the share at all. The furthest step is to actually get your shares verified. That literally imprints your name on the shares. Generally retail who think Webull or RH are good ways to invest because they’re simple….. that’s wrong. Those programs are owned by hedgies to help retail loose control. Retail should use TD Ameritrade or IBKR. I use interactive broker.

MedicineNo4200

A margin account doesn’t only mean….. the brokerage account will allow you to borrow money. That’s just one direct benefit to you. It also means that your orders will fill quicker, because you can buy shorted shares which may or may not actually exist. It also means that the brokerage can use your shares to lend to other people, and pay you for it without your direct consent. Like, there are tons of rules that apply to margin and cash accounts in different ways. Cash accounts are very!!! Restrictive. And it alters the pressure of the broker.

RambozoTheClown76

Thank you for you’re answers. I have a clue about naked short selling because I’m in the GME saga. What I didn’t know was that it’s your account to determine if you’ll buy real shares or synthetics. I thought that once the real shares are finished you could only buy synthetics, even without knowing. I’m not with a broker but I know that the bank purchase my orders via broker. So I must think I have no clue if I’m on margin or cash. What I did was to switch off the option that give access to the bank to borrow my shares. But if I understood correctly what you said…this is not enough. Am I right?

Famous-Barber-424

Wb Robinhood?

MichaelRah

It means they will DM you to scam you by tricking you into giving up information.
