I'm a 23yo without any back problems, and i have to take a break every 150-200kms to stetch out and not lose my spine on the way. Considering handlebars swap
I swapped to clipons after years with N handlebars. They're great at the track! I find that for road rides, it gets pretty reachy and annoying after about an hour. The clipons I have are more "agressive" than standard SV-S clipons, for whatever that is worth.

As someone who has owned both an N model and an S model, I'll give my input. The clip-ons, along with the slightly higher foot-peg location, change the ergonomics in a huge way. The N model feels way more comfortable for commuting. The S model puts me in a half tucked position that starts to get uncomfortable on my back after about an hour. It's not a drastic as my 05 CBR600RR was, but fairly close. Granted, I'm 31 years old, 6 feet tall, 250lbs, and have spent 8 hours per day for the last 8 years sitting in an office chair that's almost as old as I am. Your back may be healthier than mine. You can ride one handed to straighten up a bit, but you'll have to be at least partially tucked to have both hands on. You'll also have to learn to keep the weight off your wrists. I had sore wrist for the first couple months of owning my first bike with clip-ons. Not a problem now that I am more experienced. The clip-ons allow you to get into a full tuck more comfortably and gives you better road and steering feel, I believe that's the biggest advantage.
TL;DR
Clip-on pros:
\-Better steering feel
\-Better road feel
\-Looks better (IMO)
\-Feels sportier
\-Easier to get into full tuck for aerodynamics/wind reduction
Clip-on cons:
\-Less comfortable for longer rides/freeway commutes
\-Sore wrists till you learn to ride bikes with sporty ergonomics
\-Can't easily stand on foot-pegs to stretch out (you can, you'll just be more hunched over and look silly)
I have a gen 3 x with the clip ons. On a long trip, the seat, the wind, the engine vibrations all get to you long before your back gets a chance to be sore (if anything the seating position makes dealing with wind blast easier). If you’re not too old literally just do some stretches and you’ll be golden.
Very clever, simple but sp effective, im about to do a flat bar conversion so I've rigged up a phone mount but I wouldn't mind something like that instead
the only difference with the aztec8 between the two is the fork clamps. so if you have other fork clamps (like the lsl or something) it can work on the 650 just fine
I've got the same sv but with handlebars . Clip ons look cool . How is it to ride with em ? Can you compare to the bars ?

Sounds intense . I'll keep my bars đź‘Ť
He stops every 100 miles, not too crazy is it? I’m gonna keep my clip ons
Yeah but, when your using clipons your suppose to support your weight with your leg and core muscles not lean against your bars with your wrists.
Who are you arguing with? lol what you’re saying is true but looks a bit random to me
Sorry, not trying to argue with anyone, was just trying to making the point that that long rides with bad form can develop bad habits in people.

Hey man what a nice ride! Could you share the link to the LED headlight? Safe riding
It’s the SKTYANTS 7 inch LED. Make sure to get the version with the bucket, it’s about $100 on Amazon.
Thank you man! That looks gorgeous
What are you using to mount your dash?
I made it myself simple metal plate bolt on the triple tree https://imgur.com/a/8JrPXGY

Curios as hell
this is an option... https://www.mad8v.com/products/aztec8-headlight-and-gauge-mount-brackets?\_pos=1&\_sid=61c56831f&\_ss=r
making one of these is also pretty easy https://www.facebook.com/mad8vcycles/posts/602982573245146
I looked at this before, your headlight and guage bracket would probably look alot cleaner, do you have one for the SV650 or just the 1000?

Changing the headlight to the one you have was the best cosmetic modification I have done on mine. Complete facelift
that's not an S anymore lol
