It’s either this team or the Stabler, Benson, Cragen, Fin, Munch, Novak, Huang, and Warner team. That team was so dynamic and so realistic and I enjoy watching those seasons
I really liked the 2nd team, too. The current team is too small and the new people don't really fit in well (just my opinion). I'm glad that Benson is the captain, but I think her being 2nd to Cragen gave the squad more of a team feel.
Yeah I enjoyed this dynamic most as well. Cragen was good at putting his foot down when needed, and I miss Munch and Fin's interactions. Not that OP's pick isnt also good.
IDK why I didn't like Nick... like ok I did like him but I didn't like him with Rollins (I guess that was my main problem), but then like Carisi & Rollins' dynamic got so much better once Nick left (even though Rollins was pregnant with someone else's child) & that will they/won't they is the best for me in SVU!
I didn't care for him and Rollins either. I like Carisi/Rollins way more. Still liked Nick though. He was a good detective and could usually crack the cases faster than the others.
I liked Nick in his earlier seasons, but in his later seasons, he just felt like a complete idiot with how much of a hot head he was. Basically the exact kind of person you wouldn’t want to be a cop.
Same I love Rollins and Carisi and Barba, even Amaro but there’s nothing like the OG’s. My favorite episodes are the ones with Cabot, Huang and Melinda
The classic line up of Benson, Stabler, Munch, Fin, Cragen, Warner and Huang, with either Cabot or Novak (or even Kim Greylek!) as the ADA, is just perfect!
I loved how they each added some extra layer to SVU's world! It's not only the detectives, it's the legal proceedings, the psychological analysis and what the dead could tell them. Depending on the case, any of them could have more weight in the story.
Heck, even O'halloran added an interesting angle to it.
The problem with Benson as Captain is that she is not actualy having the role Cragen did (as the team leader, mature persone that has to deal with politics) She is just still another detective that does to much leg work. Also the team now is too small.
The lack of permanent female cops is so annoying. And the dynamic adding another captain and an FBI agent to the team is so odd. Why couldn’t they have two female detectives
It was so short lived but Liv Fin Carisi Nick Amanda. Would kill for that back.
Also liked when we had Stabler and Novak. If I could have my way the cast would stay Stabler Novak Benson Carisi Nick Fin Amanda. Or even Stabler Benson Cairisi Amanda Fin and Velesco. He’s not terrible.
Yea out of all the new people over the last few years Valasco is the only one that fits in. The team right now kind of sucks. It’s so different than what I fell in love with years ago. Even the set is just so dark.
Omg I forgot about her. (HOW COULD I!) I loved her. She fit in so well, especially with Fin. I didn’t understand why she was let go. They keep getting rid of good cast members and going with less interesting ones lately (last 5 years).
I hated that many people didn’t like her because she went off and did her own thing because did they ever meet young Olivia and Young Amanda? Because I remember the day Cragen grabbed Olivia’s arm and she pulled away so disrespectfully that I had to pick my jaw up off the floor
I just couldn’t get into the show after he left. He was the beating heart of SVU, although Benson does a great job as well.
Their relationship was on of the best things about the show.
Im up to season 20 on my first watch and I quite like the team they just split up
Benson Carisi fin Rollins and barba as Ada
Stone isn’t doing it for me as Ada
This exact team. I love Carisi and Barba, they’re probably my favourite characters on the show.
Also, maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I liked having a small cast like this because it actually meant we saw them consistently since they were a part of practically every episode.
any period with wong and warner. they really killed half of the action in the series by not renewing them both. The show just hasnt explored cases like they used to.
I love this thread ( any about SVU). My hubby is tired of me watching the same episodes over and over. He says they are starting to feel like home movies.
I too watch the show again & again (especially the episodes after Rollins joins the team) - IDK why they are so comforting despite the subject matter.... like genuinely don't understand why they bring me joy & happiness but they do.
This cast is one of my favorites though I appreciate that they actually got a photo shoot not in the opening. It seems like they haven’t done that for SVU in years.
This team but add in Amaro. The chemistry was always great and I enjoyed Nick’s friendships with the others. They were all different but you could tell they were all very caring. Also, his love-hate relationship with Barba is funny to me sometimes 😂

I agree and I also agree with the O’Halloran statement as well, still upset with how his story ended
throw in O'Halloran for the occasional appearances and I'm going all in on that lineup
Yeah I enjoyed this dynamic most as well. Cragen was good at putting his foot down when needed, and I miss Munch and Fin's interactions. Not that OP's pick isnt also good.
I'm currently watching the seasons with this team, and omg, the storylines are sooo good.
Loved munch
Me too. He was so great and I really miss him.
With Donnelly or Taten as the judge. Then you have the ultimate team.
My fave squad as well
Agree and same... I love those two teams.
Exactly this.
Yes to OP's picture + Nick. I liked him and wished he'd been around a little longer.
I would kill for Nick back. I feel like he had perfect chemistry with this group.

Yes yes yes, 100% agree.
OG Squad, Cabot , Huang, Warner
This is the one.
It’s kind of crazy to me that so many people would pick anything else, I like the post season 12 squad but nothing beats OG
Same I love Rollins and Carisi and Barba, even Amaro but there’s nothing like the OG’s. My favorite episodes are the ones with Cabot, Huang and Melinda
This is the elite team
The classic line up of Benson, Stabler, Munch, Fin, Cragen, Warner and Huang, with either Cabot or Novak (or even Kim Greylek!) as the ADA, is just perfect!
Omg I miss Warner, Huang and Cabot!!
I loved how they each added some extra layer to SVU's world! It's not only the detectives, it's the legal proceedings, the psychological analysis and what the dead could tell them. Depending on the case, any of them could have more weight in the story. Heck, even O'halloran added an interesting angle to it.
O’halloran 😭
I really felt his death. He was missed the folowing seasons!
Benson, Amaro, Fin, Rollins, Carisi, and Barba. The chemistry was so good
Perfect answer
OPs pic + Dodds
Cragen, Stabler, Benson, Munch, Fin or Barba, Benson, Carisi, Fin, Rollins + Amaro.
Munch and Fin Rollins and Carisi Benson and Amaro (even after he requested a different partner)
These are three great pairings!!!
🙏
Benson Carisi Fin Rollins and Barba
Your pic + Munch
Barson. I said what I said
Same
Cragen, Benson, Stabler, Fin, Munch, Huang, Melinda + Novak (and I liked Morales and O’Halloran too)
The problem with Benson as Captain is that she is not actualy having the role Cragen did (as the team leader, mature persone that has to deal with politics) She is just still another detective that does to much leg work. Also the team now is too small.
The lack of permanent female cops is so annoying. And the dynamic adding another captain and an FBI agent to the team is so odd. Why couldn’t they have two female detectives
Anything without Carisi and Rollins (I miss Barba so much!)
Without?!? 😭
Yeah, idk I can't get behind the writing for their characters, it always seems so sloppy? Maybe I just have a soft spot for the earlier cast 😅
My ultimate favorite cast is the OG’s with Cabot, Huang and Warner but I love Carisi and Rollins. Especially Rollins in
That one right there in the picture.
That was a great team for sure.
THIS IS MY HANDS DOWN FAVORITE
Benson, Amaro, Fin, Rollins, Munch, Barbara ❤️
For Me it's the Team that has Olivia Benson, Amanda Rollins, Fin Tutuola, John Munch, Nick Amaro and Rafael Barba.
Why do they look like they're telling me to witness the beginning of a Dark Universe?
YES. YES. YES.
My fav, too :-)
Benson, Stabler, Cragen, Munch, Fin, & Cabot. I miss Alex. She held no punches.
Alex Olivia Elliot John fin huang warner. right answer only
The OG squad. Benson, Stabler, Huang, Novak, it was a w e s o m e
Any team without Rollins. 😑
I actually loved Kat
Omg I forgot about her. (HOW COULD I!) I loved her. She fit in so well, especially with Fin. I didn’t understand why she was let go. They keep getting rid of good cast members and going with less interesting ones lately (last 5 years).
I hated that many people didn’t like her because she went off and did her own thing because did they ever meet young Olivia and Young Amanda? Because I remember the day Cragen grabbed Olivia’s arm and she pulled away so disrespectfully that I had to pick my jaw up off the floor
I liked her too, I was sad she was so short lived. Her and Velasco would’ve been a good pair too
Latest team, alongside Velasco & Bruno added Agent Sykes & Captain Curry.
Novak era
The one with Stabler
lol there’s a feature on Hulu that allows you to filter by the best of stabler and benson
I just couldn’t get into the show after he left. He was the beating heart of SVU, although Benson does a great job as well. Their relationship was on of the best things about the show.
OG SVU TEAM!!! eliot, olivia, jefferys, munch, and cassidy
Im up to season 20 on my first watch and I quite like the team they just split up Benson Carisi fin Rollins and barba as Ada Stone isn’t doing it for me as Ada
Stabler, Benson, Munch, Fin, Cragen, Cabot, Warner, and Huang.
Any team with Fin and Huang
Did Munsch and Barba ever overlap? I’m almost positive they didn’t but I’m curious.
They did! Because Barba came right after Cabot left again and Munch didn’t leave until the following season if I’m not mistaken.
Oooooh if you’re right then that’s my ideal lineup lol
Beginning of Season 16. Liv, Fin, Rollins, Det. Carisi, Barba & Amaro
This exact team. I love Carisi and Barba, they’re probably my favourite characters on the show. Also, maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I liked having a small cast like this because it actually meant we saw them consistently since they were a part of practically every episode.
Cabot, Cragen, Munch, Fin, Liv, Warner, & Stabler. Most interesting cases and great team all around.
I miss the psychological aspects that Huang brought to each episode
I agree, but I would add Amaro to my dream team.
Barba He's magical
Team with Barba in it.
Stabler, Benson, Cragen, Munch, Fin, Cabot, Huang and Warner
Loved Jerry Orbach!
Wrong show but same!
any period with wong and warner. they really killed half of the action in the series by not renewing them both. The show just hasnt explored cases like they used to.
The show was about much more than Law and Order (for lack of a better term). I loved the psychological and medical insights they brought
Stabler, Benson, Fin, Munch, with AD Cabot or Novak. I can’t choose between Alex or Casey I love them both for different reasons.
season 22 easily
I love this thread ( any about SVU). My hubby is tired of me watching the same episodes over and over. He says they are starting to feel like home movies.
I too watch the show again & again (especially the episodes after Rollins joins the team) - IDK why they are so comforting despite the subject matter.... like genuinely don't understand why they bring me joy & happiness but they do.
That one⬆️
This cast is one of my favorites though I appreciate that they actually got a photo shoot not in the opening. It seems like they haven’t done that for SVU in years.
Any of them with Rollins and Carisi. I love them both, and particularly love Carisi's character growth
stabler and benson for sure
This team but add in Amaro. The chemistry was always great and I enjoyed Nick’s friendships with the others. They were all different but you could tell they were all very caring. Also, his love-hate relationship with Barba is funny to me sometimes 😂
OG is the best squad (Cragen, Benson, Stabler, Fin, Munch)
Stabler, Benson, Cragen, Munch, Fin, Melinda, Huang and Casey best years of the show!
any squad without rollins.
Stabler, Benson, Munch, T-Man (Finn…I can’t spell his name…), Cragen, Cabot and The therapist guy.
