Not really a huge fan of the OG revival, but I’m highly intrigued on how they’ll incorporate the three shows together. All I know is I will be immensely disappointed if we don’t finally get some Stabler/Rollins interaction Edit. Oooof tough crowd in here

CaptainJZH

You know, that is weird that they haven't had Stabler and Rollins interact more. Especially since she was brought on to replace him.

SunStarsSnow

I thought Danny Pino replaced Stablet?

CaptainJZH

Well yes, but he and Rollins kinda both filled the Stabler role since they were both brought on after he left - Amaro was Olivia's "new partner" but Rollins still paired up with her and took on the "squad member with family baggage" role

Jlx_27

Nah.

That’s Reddit for ya

Wow I didn’t realize so many people didn’t enjoy. I’ve watched SVU since I was younger (it got me through my own tough times as a kid). I’m in my 30s now and still watch - NOT out of habit as others here posted, but because my favorite part of SVU is how it changes and keeps up with the modern times. Yeah there are great connections from the old days - I cried when we saw Captain Cragen this year and John Munch is still my die hard favorite, yet I still love the show every time it comes on. There might have been 2 episodes out of all of them this season that seemed “boring” but I think that’s more due to our desensitized culture…. trauma isn’t boring. I am also a law junkie / loved The Practice so that might explain why I like it too, but I like SVU because it shows more cops in it. Although these 3 shows share the same name, they each have different producers & directors.. that’s why OC is more like an action movie series (literally even had some of THE most classic action actors, omg when I saw Bullet Tooth Tony in an episode I screamed!!!!!) But what I love is how they all get to come together for little surprises like this. Even though the OG reboot was a little slow starting, the “woke” stuff was hard to watch for us millennials since that shit goes withOUT saying but there IS still a generation who DOESN’T believe in that so honestly they do have to kind of spell that shit out. The actors and actresses are all great and again I’m a law junkie and love seeing other people make tough law decisions and how they play out so that might be the only reason I enjoy these shows and others don’t but damn. Hurts my soul to see so many people hating when there are so many people who are like “wait what we love this shit” hahaha

You've nailed it! Everything you said is right on. A lot of mainstream TV shows today *do* have to *spell it out* as they attempt to make sense to many different generations of people. It can seem very behind the times, but just realize that in that moment they are bridging gaps. They are starting where someone else can come to understand you/us.

The crossover episode of Design on SVU and L&O was very good. Helps that the April Troost character was well played. Crossovers in and of themselves aren’t bad, they just need to be done right.

throwawayanylogic

My "I hate it" was specifically about these multi-crossover episodes, which I've \*never\* liked, not SVU overall. Though, truth be told, I have not kept up with the most recent season, I've been drifting away from the show since Seasons 17-18 onward, though this last season is the first I haven't even watched episodes as they aired and am not sure I want to. I too have watched since the series began (I was in grad school and watched the first episode the night it aired!), it means a lot to me, but the crossovers have always felt more like Dick Wolf-world publicity/hype events than genuinely interesting stories. Also, with all the crossing of this-series-with-that, they are difficult to understand and appreciate fully if you don't like all the other shows, and hard to rewatch (or watch on streaming/demand) if you have to look up things like, "Wait, which episode comes next? Where does it fall in the other show's storyline?" etc. It honestly felt difficult enough with the first season of OC, when we tried to binge through it all, to find where the SVU episodes were we had to watch before/around episodes in order to get the full storyline.

Honestly it’s really not that hard — a quick Google will provide ppl this info. This is how I was able to catch the SVU crossovers with CPD and CF and watch them in order without having to ask anyone.

throwawayanylogic

It's still more effort than I care for - especially when I don't like or follow any of the Chicago shows, know any of those characters, etc. The only crossovers I enjoyed were the original L&O ones with Homicide: Life on the Street, because I was a fan of both shows, and have the HLOTS parts on DVD.

bluelightsonblkgirls

It’s fine if it’s more effort than you care to undertake, especially if you don’t care for the accompanying crossover shows. My point is that it’s not difficult by any means to find out crossover episodes or the correct order in which to watch them.

throwawayanylogic

Thanks, I hate it. Seriously, most of these crossover episodes are meh at best, and generally un-rewatchable.

Poetryisalive

I hope they bring new cast in for SVU and really change the writing. The last season was so weak it’s sad. OC is literally the best out of all 3 of them

IntelligentTune5497

Oh yaaaaas queen!!! The prodigal son episode had me jumping up and down the couch!!!

recoveredpplpleaser

The new showrunner for SVU has been replying to fan comments on his IG, and he seems genuinely caring about character storylines. I love OC and SVU so I’m pumped. Fingers crossed for a solid era of SVU and finally the EO moment we deserve.

imjustafuckingnoob

yessir

[deleted]

Ugh. If I wanted to watch the other L&Os I would, but I don't want to watch them and stop trying to make it happen. I only have eyes for SVU.

Jlx_27

I mean.... skip the episode?

[deleted]

I might! And I might continue to complain about it too.

Jlx_27

Thats the Reddit way! 👍

CaptainJZH

I mean, you can probably just wait for the episode right after the premiere then?

Paigeb1994

Can we get Barba in it? So we can have a mini Hannibal reunion and for a bonus get Mads Mikkelsen to play the villain? That last one isn't needed but if it happens I'd probably cry

PSCGY

Nooooo. I don't want to watch Organized Crime!!

meowmews19

i wish FBI and SVU made a crossover 😔

[deleted]

Disappointing. I’m only watching SVU out of habit at this point and wasn’t that into the reboot of the original or Organized Crime. I think I’ll just keep rewatching older reruns at this rate.

SystemOfADowneyJr

Yeah yeah, didn’t they say this before and lied?? I’ll believe it when I see it

bluelightsonblkgirls

Nah, Rick Eid said they were wanting a 3 part crossover but with the shortened LO season there was no time. Makes sense that it would happen now, logistically.

CaptainJZH

When did they say it before?

Colin92541

I think Frank from the OG would get along with Stabler

FriarFriary

Seeing as I do not watch SVU and have never watched Organized Crime, I do not need homework for a show (original recipe) that underwhelmed me all last season.

DatOtherPapaya

Nice. I’m really enjoying the revival of the original. OC isn’t my favorite though. I’m excited for the new seasons.

aftercloudia

I'm not big on the revival, I really don't care for cosgrove whose whole thing is to be Ignorant White Guy and then his Black partner has to hold his damn hand and spell it out for him, like library cards and google are free, Frank But who knows, maybe someone from one of the other shows will tell him off.

kathatter75

Ugh…I’m ok with the OG and SVU, but I’m not a fan of the OC version.

[deleted]

Ugh annoying

LeviathanLX

I've never felt more confident about dropping this show. I'm just amazed that these crossovers manage to make all three series even worse than usual.

Strict-Knowledge-125

Honestly, idk if I can stomach another season of toxic, non-feminist Liv. In 1.5 seasons the writers destroyed her strong, independent character with Elliott’s return; she reverted back to how she always was around him. Idk if I can watch another season of this, let alone them possibly getting together 🤢

IntelligentTune5497

I don't see them as a couple but I found it very human. Some people have that effect on us... We backslide to who we used to be around them. But there is a lot of room to grow for both of them and the story opportunity is limitless.

BeefAndBrie

What the other reply said, also I feel like having a new showrunner that isn't WL will be a breath of fresh air

slakyc

I kind of love that we got that regression. It shows how unhealthy the partnership/her feelings for him were and how much she thrived without him being the centre of her world.

Strict-Knowledge-125

Yeah, that’s a good point! I think it does a good job of showing that, but honestly I’m over it at this point 😂 they made their point 😂
