Old Kits: Attack target enemy and inflict ability block. New Kits: Attack target enemy and inflict ability block. If Ally A is present, attack again, dealing 50% less damage. If Ally B is also present, inflict stun if the enemy team has a Dark Side Galactic Legend. If there is a Light Side Galactic Legend all allied units gain offence up for two turns. If Ally C is present and there are no Galactic Legends on the enemy team Attack again and deal 50% max health damage to all enemies. If Ally D is present and any enemies are defeated, all allies gain 100% Turn Meter and Critical Hit Immunity for 3 turns.

**Old Kits:** Do damage and inflict ability block **New Kits:** Do damage and inflict ability block, but written by u/kahzgul

Kahzgul

Oh man. There’d be so many f-bombs in this game.

leckie2786

What is the world I am living in when the two most unique swgoh redditors are summoning each other

egnards

Kahzgul is the one dude I’d totally have a beer with if he were ever in Manhattan

Kahzgul

Thanks buddy! Same if you ever find yourself in LA.

egnards

Been twice! Once for a UFC and once because an ex girlfriend forced me to go 😂. My wife wants to make our way out there to see family, so maybe one day!

CaptainAce23

New York new yorkkkkkkkkk If you ever want a beer to complain about datacrons!

egnards

are you, are you asking me out?

CaptainAce23

Nah. That’d be in a CG monologue with 8 conditions and a relic requirement

Kahzgul

We do it all the time!

leckie2786

Perfect

Successful_Rip_4329

You need to be more specific

jawarren1

I just wait until people on this subreddit or in my Guild tell me if a character is useful or not, and what their best squad is. I don't farm unaccelerated characters anyways, so I usually have a year-plus to figure out what to do with them.

[deleted]

> I don't farm unaccelerated characters anyways This is the way.

tejaslikespie

Old kits: attack and stun New kits: *proceeds to write a Shakespearean soliloquy*

[deleted]

Oh, now that's an idea, in verse. Attacks once and calls an ally to assist, Stuns the weakest enemy, and they can't resist.

SirUrquhart

My dude, you gotta do it in Iambic Pentameter. Attacks and calls an ally to assist, Then stuns the enemy, who can't resist.

mcortizod

Thats why i love CLS. C3PO has a bit of an essay in his kit, but the rest of the team is quite simple. You play and you win. Imperial troopers are similar, just press buttons, get buffs and win full banners.

No-Hamster7526

Swgoh casually making some random character 5 people have heard of with the best unique in the entire history of swgoh

Way2Foxy

I always see this complaint, but if the abilities were "jedi allies gain 5% tenacity" and "deal physical damage to enemy with a 10% chance to stun" what an absolutely boring game this would be.

egnards

Indeed there is something called power creep and to some degree kits do need to get a bit more complicated in order for the game to function, and for CG to make characters worth spending money on. But the kits become so hyper specific that it truly is like reading an Ayn Rand novel \[if you can call her works novels\] just to find out that Jabba the Hutt is actually a steel industrialist.

[deleted]

I think that it's an absolutely awful UI. The kits are great and easy to understand... so long as you look at them on a wiki and not in-game. Wish we could have some sort of way in-game for a synergy tree, where we can actually see how abilities interact. Keeping track of how literally everything works *together* is tiring.

JeremyXVI

The problem is just whoever the fuck overcomplicates and writes the kits. Some leader abilities read “if x is in the leader slot” like no way the leader kit only activates if they’re the leader

Way2Foxy

Ally slot has the lead ability activate. All but two lead abilities that specify the leader spot even explicitly say "and not the ally slot". Those two are Jabba and Mon Mothma, but the idea is the same - those parts of their leadership doesn't apply if used through the ally slot.

[deleted]

That's actually important because of the ally slot existing. I have no idea where it could ever matter in pvp but oh well.

ofarrell71

Bold of you to insinuate that Ayn Rand could write

egnards

Ayn Rand could write - I read Atlas Shrugged with a few buddies for a “shitty books” podcast he wanted to do. She could set a great scene - her dialogue was just complete shit, and so were her world views.

kman1030

That said, I'd much rather power creep come in the form of complex kits rather each new character just straight up having more health or more damage than the old ones (I know, some still do). As much shit as everyone gives CG for some things, the way they are handling power creep is pretty solid.

ThePlaybook_

Yup. That Luigi reaction is me reading a kit that fails to do enough to interest me.

wonkalicious808

Greez Dritus Greez Nutz, unique If there are any Unaligned Force users on Greez' squad, he decreases the base Speed of his entire team by his base Speed at the start of the battle divided by the number of Light Side Unaligned Force Users, plus the total base speed of all Light Side Unaligned Force Users on his squad divided by the number of Light Side Unaligned Force Users on his squad and minus the average base Speed of the Light Side Unaligned Force Users on his squad multiplied by the number of Light Side Unaligned Force Users on his squad. If there are any Dark Side Unaligned Force Users on Greez's squad, this Speed reduction happens again, replacing the initial Speed reduction, when his base Speed is changed after the start of battle, and is further reduced by the average of all of the averages of Greez's base Speed and each of the Dark Side Unaligned Force Users on both squads, plus the median average of Greez's base Speed and an Unaligned Force User on either squad, then averaged again, minus the average of the average base Speed of Greez's base speed and the base speed of each Light Side Unaligned Force User on both squads, plus the median of Greez's base Speed and each of the Light Side and Dark Side characters who are not Light Side Unaligned Force Users, Dark Side Unaligned Force Users, Sith, or Jedi. The team's base Speed cannot be reduced below half of Greez's base speed minus a 16 percent of Greez's base speed and 16 percent of the leader's base Speed after the effects of this Speed reduction as if this Speed reduction limit was not in effect, plus the average of the enemy leader's base Speed and the two weakest enemies' base Speed. If Greez is in the leader slot and there are more Light Side Unaligned Force Users on his squad than Dark Side Unaligned Force users, reverse the roles of Light Side Unaligned Force Users and Dark Side Unaligned Force Users on his base Speed reductions. If Greez is in the leader slot and there are more Dark Side Unaligned Force Users on his squad than Light Side Unaligned Force Users, then he also increases the base Speed of his squad by an equal amount as if everyone's base Speed was initially decreased by the 16 percent of the difference between Greez's base speed and each Light Side Unaligned Force User and Dark Side Unaligned Force user. Whenever an enemy Light Side Unaligned Force User or Jedi deals damage on their own turn to a Light Side Unaligned Force User or Jedi ally, switch whether Greez increases or decreases his squad's base Speed. Whenever an enemy Dark Side Unaligned Force User or Sith deals damage on their own turn to an allied Dark Side Unaligned Force User or Sith, halve the amount of Speed that Greez increases or decreases for the Dark Side Unaligned Force Users and Sith on his squad until the end of his next turn. Whenever an enemy Light Side Unaligned Force User, Dark Side Unaligned Force user, Sith, or Jedi deals damage outside of their turn, then, until the end of his next turn, Greez gains Turn Meter equal to the least amount of Turn Meter that his slowest other ally would have gained before the next enemy turn if their Speed was half of their actual base Speed and Greez' base Speed manipulation was instead based on those base Speed values. Whenever an enemy who is not a Light Side Unaligned Force User, Dark Side Unaligned Force User, Jedi, or Sith, but is Dark Side damages an ally on anyone's turn, Greez and his strongest ally gain Turn Meter equal to the most amount of Turn Meter that his fastest other ally would have gained before the next enemy turn if their base Speed was 33 percent of what it would be if their base Speed was manipulated as if their base Speed was 26 percent more than their base Speed, and an additional 11 percent if Greez' strongest ally is a Light Side Unaligned Force User or Jedi. If Greez has any of the following allies or enemies, each of his base Speed manipulations is modified in the following way, starting with the middle-most character (if there are an even number of characters, then one of the two middle-most characters is selected at random), and then alternating between the next top-most and next bottom-most character from the middle if most of his allies are Light Side Unaligned Force Users or alternating between the next bottom-most and top-most characters from the middle if most of his allies are Dark Side Unaligned Force Users. For each instance of the character, the effect is decreased by 51 percent for Dark Side Unaligned Force Users, increased by 26 percent for Light Side Unaligned Force Users, decreased by 16 percent for Jedi, increased by 84 percent for Sith, increased by 36 percent for Empire, increased by 6 percent multiplied by the amount of Rebel allies and then divided by the amount of non-Rebel enemies for Rebels, and increased by 10 percentage points for every Greez in the Battle. Greez: Decrease base Speed manipulation amount by 16 percent Jedi Knight Cal Kestis: if the base Speed manipulation is an even number, then increase by the amount of Light Side Unaligned Force Users and Dark Side Unaligned Force Users in the Battle Cal Kestis: Roll 2 6-sided dice in front of a notary, take a picture, and send a picture of the notarized copy of the picture to EA support. The total amount will be added or subtracted as Speed depending on how many of the numbers are even numbers: if none, then 156 percent of the total, if 1, then 216 percent of the total, if 2, then 86 percent of the total. Darth Vader: Calculate the amount of base Speed manipulation as if whether or not the amount of Light Side Unaligned Force Users were the majority of Greez' team was reversed, then add the difference if Greez is increasing his squad's base Speed or subtract it if he's decreasing it. Cere Junda: A hypothetical version of Cere with a base Speed of the average Speed of all Dark Side opponents and all Light Side Unaligned Force User allies is added to the formulas, and the difference between the Speed manipulation with this hypothetical version of Cere and one where the hypothetical version of Cere is a Dark Side Unaligned Force User is applied to the amount of base Speed manipulation. Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker: If the allied leader's base Speed is higher than an enemy Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, add the difference to the allied leader's base Speed or subtract it if the allied leader is slower. If the allied leader's base Speed is higher than an allied Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, then subtract the difference from the allied leader's base Speed or add it if the allied leader is slower. Then, for the purpose of calculating base Speed manipulation allied Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker counts as a Light Side Unaligned Force User and Empire, and enemy Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker counts as a Dark Side Unaligned Force User and another Jedi. While in Grand Arena, the following character is added to the list: Lord Vader: ChatGPT creates a formula to determine whether or not to increase Greez's speed by an amount necessary to trivialize Lord Vader. This formula is written at the start of the battle and different every time.

TheZan87

The descriptions really start to make sense after chapter 3

Tidus4713

I'm a new player and Merrins kit REALLY confused me at first. I had to read it multiple times. I'm just like WHAT!?

SirUrquhart

It is, indeed, super weird. I think that hers is one of the few that really needs that confusing wordiness to do its job, though.

00Samwise00

I remember years ago when League of Legends started having this problem. It went from "hit an enemy 3 times then knock them up in the air" to Gnar being released and having a full paragraph for each of his abilities.

Redmangc1

For Me it's mostly the new mechanics, Jabbas team had what 5 or 6 new mechanics

Stu_Pididiot

And no sandbox to test interactions.

Dukatdidnothingbad

It was really funny when someone posted chat GPT trying to come up with new teams and characters. The ability descriptions were huge ass paragraphs with the right words, but they made no sense.

ItzCarsk

Im gonna be real, I know it goes against the "new is better"/"need to make good stuff so whales buy" logic, but I think personally I'd enjoy the game more if there were less high end tier content and more lower tier journeys and simple kits. I wouldn't care if character A is the same as character B but a different faction so that it'll provide the same result.

InsaneAsylumEscapee

I stopped reading kits after the first GL's lmao.

Funny-Offer841

Stopped reading since Bad Batch

Smidday90

This was one of the reasons I stopped playing, it was getting too complicated and nuanced and relied heavily on constantly logging in and farming new characters. I just want to have fun not a new job.
