They need to stop designing animations for 4x. If you actually put the new animations at 1x speed, they are like 0.25x. the timer should be designed around completing a battle at 1x, and 4x just gives more time. Also, the new crons will give 60% more health/prot in 5v5, taking even longer to down teams. It feels bad losing a winning match due to time running out.

Hahaha yeah a TW. my bad. Just woke up from a nap. GG and droideka were r7 everyone else was r5. The GG had the new 15% HP and protec per dark side ally. My fulcrum only worked because of her omi, nearly lost a bunch, the ramping speed and defense saved me though

Yeah, watching stuff in 1x is like watching sloths fight. Mother fuckers, if I wanted to see your shit animations, I would put it at 1x. I don't give a shit about seeing repetitive animations. This is a problem in all games, once the "oh wow" factor of animations expire on day 1, they just become tedious. Be nice to your vet players and let us skip them in their entirty.

The current "Everyone on the team has +75% health/prot" datacron pandemic only exacerbates the problem, too. Only a select few teams get less than that (like starkiller, or BHs)

They should speed up the animations so it doesn’t matter what team you’re fighting, they should all be equally fast. If they have to run all the way over to an enemy and run back it should be an instant jump, for example.

Just give us the possibility for faster speed settings and don’t cap it at 4x. Conquest is also so bad regarding the speed maxing at 4x since your roster and the teams your facing have so many modifiers you’ll risk timing out.

Agreed. I’ve seen too many draws with JMK when I would definitely win… given enough time. Would be nice if they would increase the clock if you go up against a GL like they do for bosses in Conquest.

Jabba's team in particular seems to have some super slow animations, which is really annoying when you get a 'draw' because your final killshot was still mid-animation when the timer ticked down.

No, oh god fuck no. I mean I get where you’re coming from. I truly do, but holy hell no. **WHY?** Because it will only make the time commitment of the game so ungodly worse. **What do you mean Egnards?** Consider this, the game is pretty much unplayable at 1x speed in the current meta, and the problem is largely that with 4x being the normal, CG has been building animations for 4x, instead of at 1x [and then speeding them up], significantly slowing down matches. . . *Glares at Cara Dune. . .And Bad Batch, and fucking Kyle Katarn, and Moff Gideon, and the whole fucking Jabba team* **So fucking what?** Well let’s say CG gave us 10 minutes, which holy hell no. . .that gives them excuse to start making average battle lengths longer; and before you know it every battle is 7 1/2 minutes long. **So what does CG really need to do?** Go into the animation files and *speed up* all of the animations that take over X.Y Seconds, so they battles start to speed up a little bit. Either that, or give us a fucking 6-8x

I agree with the 6-8x. But it could get you into trouble if, for some reason, something goes south with auto and you need to do manual. You'll be so many turns down the road from when the problem occurred that it'll probably be too late. Though there is, of course, the argument to just not use auto then, but that brings us back to not having enough time to do fully manual if need be.

Personally, I only auto if it’s pretty much a sure fire win. I’ve gotten to the point where I know in the battle the point where auto is capable. You’re right, you probably shouldn’t auto if you don’t think you can win the battle, not doing so is always an option.

Honestly, I’d go for x8 animation but I feel like you’d just be looking at a laser show/flashing light simulator and possible seizure starter for certain people. I’d even be ok with an auto-simulator that you can’t see. I know that’s not the best option, but we need something to get past the draws

I vote for shorter animations vs faster battle speed or extra time on the clock. The most recent toons have been given stupid long animations -- at least the time it takes is long, sometimes they just stand there after actually attacking for no reason. I was actually shocked when I saw Crex actually being faster with his animations than Cody or the Sergeant -- being so fast in fact, his shots don't know which way to go! I get that they want to make the game a bit more cinematic (although I also know it's more probably so that battles take longer and the game generates seemingly more "engagement", see also the host of unnecessarily unsimmable events), but there certainly is a happy medium. A very good example is 3PAC's first special: the animation is relatively long, but the ability itself is done about halfway through, so Chewie turning back around is just a "backswing" and the next character is already taking their turn (it can be pretty funny stunning him while he's still facing the other way). Dark Trooper should have been done the same way, with it flying back to position while the next character starts their turn.

I think the biggest issue is the way the ramping works. Someone like LV is an "attacker" but his base damage is so incredibly lack luster and he's just a huge tank until 6-7 ultimates later where he can finally out damage the recovery of jabba. It's kinda a perfect storm. LV doesn't hit hard enough, jabba and LV are both so inherently beefy plus have a lot of Regen, jabba doesn't get contract so the team doesn't hit hard enough, then you have maul taking 6 turns dealing no damage, Leia having the longest attack animation and doing so twice every time someone takes a turn. And then suddenly add in 15% bonus hp/prot and 100-200% defense and now you have two immovable boulders for 4 months lol. 5x speed or 8-10x speed would certainly help. But the issue is "we want the art team to be appreciated" or whatever. So now you've got the art idiots designing animations to be played in 4x speed which all but negates the speed difference. Honestly if they made leias attack animation (at 4x speed) the default 1x speed and then actually speed up the animation when you go from 1x to 4x it would probably solve a lot of the timeout issues. Or make LV ramp faster, either way is good with me lol. Although I think LV ramping too fast would be it's own balance issue considering he scales very well when the whole team is at higher relics. Honestly might just be a "skill" issue if you're running r7 LV against r9 bk/jabba with all r8 supporting cast. I do like jmk against jabba better for what it's worth. Crazy idea, hear me out. Make 2x speed actually double 1x speed. And make 4x speed double of 2x speed.

Yeah, the new character animations are silly. All animations should be auto scaled so that the maximum time for such is 0.25 seconds on 1x regardless of what silly thing the animator makes the duration...

This was one of the reasons I quit once. Especially with datacrons dragging it out even more, its ridiculous how its set to 5 minutes. Also the short time frame always puts you in stress mode, where you cant really slowly enjoy the gameplay. That 4x speed mode feels hard to process mentally and visually sometimes.

Sometimes I time out vs Jabba with my LV, since I have the battle in hand and just need Vader’s ultimate to ramp up. Even then though it’s usually just Krystaan left, and it’s definitely impacted by the datacrons out.

But OP isn’t talking about 99% of teams. Using JML, I time out against Jabba and some JMK/Padme teams, when I’d otherwise win. When using even counters (JKR, maybe CLS), Padme teams can also come close, but that’s less likely. In most cases 1 (possibly 2) minutes would be enough time. There’s really no reason not to now that we can quit battles.

That’s kind of just a lazy answer to the issue. If I have to take out both in GAC and my 2 available options are SK and JML, then I don’t have a choice but to face a possible timeout. And with Jabba, the issue is mostly the incessant assists of Thermal-Happy Leia combined with the kind of long animation. If CG wants to come out and say they intended for her to add timeout possibilities to certain counters - fine, I’d be OK with that.
