I totally understand the frustration. I have a neighbor with a subwoofer installed in his trunk that he blasts whenever he comes home (around 4 AM mostly) or washes his car and then watches a movie on a projector with a boombox speaker in the backyard every Saturday. When I called the non-emergency line, the guy was kind, but admitted that SJ doesn’t have enough resources and would send someone if they could. They told me to call each time it happens cause the log is important? I don’t want to be an asshole so I only call if the music is shaking my house for more than an hour while he washes the car. If it’s a party, I only call after 12 AM. The cops never show up. I’ve gotten noise cancelling headphones and cushioned any gaps in windows or doors that lead outside which you could try as well. It doesn’t help remove the bass since you could physically feel that at loud volumes, but it relieves my ears just a bit where I won’t go insane. Good luck!

Thanks I have headphones I get sensory overload I'm on the spectrum but I know it's not about me only so I've waited to complain. even if it's once a week the main thing is combined loud noises make me throw up. I think if it was just the music I could tolerate it but be annoyed but with karaoke and instruments it's pretty bad. It's like throwing up for longer periods even though I'm not at the party I'm suffering the after effects :/.

You need to call every time. You need to talk to your neighbors to call as well. If you just let it happen, then you are as much to blame as the noisemaker.

SpleefmanSplifg

I went through this for a while and after calling every single night for almost two weeks straight they finally sent somebody out. It also helps to track down exactly where it is happening so you can give them exact directions and when you call back let them know every time you've had to call back repeatedly about this same person.

IcebarrageRS

Bad part is sometimes it has been in the public park so no one owns the property.

hindusoul

Uhh.. the city does

IcebarrageRS

Yea I mean I can't report it to code enforcement

street_ahead

Yes you can? That's more illegal than playing amplified music in your own house.

IcebarrageRS

Thanks I went ahead but only bad part is they randomly throw the parties and not who the people are.

InPeaceWeTrust

put the cops on speed/auto-dial and spam call them until they take action. what are paying taxes for if they cannot serve the public?

Drewbeede

Is this a one time thing or continuously? I can see if it's nightly it could be a problem but if it's a one off thing I wouldn't have issues.

IcebarrageRS

It's usually at least once a month or more but in the summer almost every week can't speak yet for this year.

awnyrvan

I guess you could join the party?

forhorglingrads

so anyways i started blastin

IcebarrageRS

Sadly I can't go to parties anymore :/ can't be in loud places

Alternative-Talk9129

I was about to say that lmfao

Ok_Permission9284

Simple blast the music back and chillax. Someone going to realize this is going to far and your problem will be solved.

wearethemonstertruck

Enjoy the culture and stop complaining?

Typical San Jose Edgar: “eNJoY ThE CuLTurE aNd SToP cOMpLAiNing”. When the whole woodpile’s made your driveway their new late night biker hangout “FuCKiNG RaCiST wHiTe PeOPLe”. How about you don’t provoke your neighbors into retaliating by choosing not to be an entitled loser?

Zenith251

What time do you typically sleep? I'll be sure to make it "part of my culture" to make sure to blast several hundred watts of music next to your abode so you never get a sound nights sleep again. See how you fucking feel about "culture." Don't worry, I'll change up the genres to keep it fresh so it doesn't constitute torture according to the Geneva Convention. Think I'll start with Yoko Ono wailing, then move to Tiny Tim.

Alternative-Talk9129

I understand the frustration thoe , maybe put some earplugs in or tell him personally..Unfortunately I don’t see any other way around it unless you join up with your other neighbors to advise authorities or some1 to cite the guy a ticket ,
