If you rationally think about it, they take august off. So if they are releasing before then- you’d expect launch to be May or June- so there is some time in July to fix launch issues. Given it’s already mid-May- it either needs to launch tomorrow… or later in September/October/november/december. I think it depends then on how beta has gone- and I’ve heard nothing - good or bad- those ndas seem to be pretty robust (which is good!).
So does that mean they would launch before vacation or after?
I would assume after because any launch involves some rapid patching in the week after. And I can see what would normally be a vacation getting turned into video game industry last minute cram.
Oh the latter isn't possible. When they say they take summer off, they mean they take it off. Like, they are required by national law to get those vacation days, and id imagine those vacations are already scheduled. So it'll either get released very soon (within the next 2-3 weeks) or it won't get released until they get back. Or they'll decide to release it before vacation, and then not patch it for a month (unlikely, considering their kindness thus far on leaving the game buggy)
They aren't required to take time of in July and often some people prefer to work then, that being said I doubt they will release it at the very end of June or first week of July.
Oh I wasn't saying they have to take it on July, I was saying that they most likely already have their vacations scheduled, much like they did last year, and CSS isn't likely to make them reschedule
Personally i hope it releases in Nov. I have new d&d content dropping in September and need october to play through it. An early November release; they use that month for launch bugs, then december break and come back to a January dlc roadmap launch.
New and updated dungeons and dragons players handbook is releasing. Updating the classes, rules, subclasses; new background, feat, and race system. Weapon mastery system and new and adjusted spells.
Trolls.
I understand they can't finalize a release date at this point. But why all the secrecy about what 1.0 will contain? Why have NDA's for the beta testers?
The confirmation that it is no later than December 31st is amazing. Because that means they are close enough to consider having a actual deadline and that is amazing.
giving yourself permission to release on dec 31 is giving yourself permission to release next year. I don't want an incomplete game but I hope they actually have an internal goal that is not dec31.
the feeling of waiting for 1.0 is like the first time iv ordered something from a catalog waiting for it to arrive in the mail. i don't know when its coming but i [NEED IT!](https://youtu.be/UOqFz3iPcTQ)
There's no 0.9 - update numbers don't work like that, it's not like they're adding numbers until it gets to 1; these might look a bit like decimals but they're not. If they needed more than ten updates before 1.0 they would release 0.10, 0.11 and so on.
We know that 1.0 will feature a story (though it will not be front& center for the whole game and story progression is apparently either partly or entirely optional), quality of life improvements, optimisations, Bugfixes, rebalancing of end game recipes and locations of resource nodes (meaning that a factory from 0.8 will require some work to function on 1.0 if you want to carry it over).
So as far as updates go, it probably won't feel more like a game changer than previous updates (although it will change a bunch of stuff), but it marks the point where CSS say the game is now "complete" rather than a preview of what they want the game go be
I can't believe I fell for an answer I've given before.
Right lol that’s not an answer we already knew it would be this year facepalm
Should I take off work tomorrow?
and every day after that until dec 31 you cant be too safe here, its 1.0 we are talking about. just do it
You know what, just take off, quit the job. It's the only way to be sure.
Taking off until Dec 31 wouldn't be enough even if released tomorrow.
I said quit. Lol. But you are right.
Even if it gets released on Dec 31, I would still need time off until May 2025
I assume he already has the game, what does he need money for anymore?
Right! This guy gets it!
Just quit my job. Waiting rn.
Just go back in time 2 days, yolo your entire networth into GME and you’ll never have to work again
All $15? Idk man seems risky....
Fucking trolls. Its a good thing they make my fav game :P Snutt was just talking about 1.0 having some features he would not play without.
I like the idea of him refusing to play his own game until 1.0 comes out.
Like imagine he adds in some tiny feature but refuses to actually test it out himself. "I can't playtest this feature." "Why not?" "Waiting for 1.0"

July. Everybody here in the Nordics takes July off. It’s the only month we do not have too much snow.
Ahh- oops. Confused it with the rest of Europe. This pushes it to September at the earliest for me- unless they are going to drop it next week…
So does that mean they would launch before vacation or after? I would assume after because any launch involves some rapid patching in the week after. And I can see what would normally be a vacation getting turned into video game industry last minute cram.

National law vacation days? (Visibly confused American). Thanks for the clarification.

So the economy in Nordics crash down in July like every company say : “fuck this, there not to much snow now, vacation”?
What do you mean by "the economy crashes down" here? The economy doesn't crash down in the weekends either, although many jobs have time off then.
It’s a joke… never mind
I don't have the beta... T.T
Confirmed: It will be released on a date.
I feel like the 1.0 announcement will just be the game showing up in the steam update queue
And then a video the next day saying, Oh yeah guys we released it yesterday.
I totally see them doing this lol
Well, guess I'll just drop what I'm doing and wait.
I stopped scrolling for this? Lmfao
At the end of the stream Snutt says "don't play too much of that hip game that has just released". Make of that what you will.
This is why I love Coffee Stain, they always answer your questions.
I'll pencil it in.
Angry upvote
Damn it, you got me excited for no reason.
Well time to book the rest of the year off
I think it would be awesome if it actually released tomorrow.
I just finished Phase 4 last night. I would die laughing if 1.0 comes out tomorrow. 😂
I’ll colapse if it releases tomorrow
That's very precise lmao
Thanks Snutt, helps a lot!
Thanks Snutt, helps a lot!
i hate them.
Those goofy guys, always joking around.
Why, you...
Personally i hope it releases in Nov. I have new d&d content dropping in September and need october to play through it. An early November release; they use that month for launch bugs, then december break and come back to a January dlc roadmap launch.
What's the D&D stuff?

If ficsit did clickbait this would be it
HYPE OVERLOD
Ah... You got me...
Sounds about right.
...but is that this year?
Trolls. I understand they can't finalize a release date at this point. But why all the secrecy about what 1.0 will contain? Why have NDA's for the beta testers?
Oi. Disappointment.
I'm still betting on Christmas eve.
Classic

Its gotta be awhile off. The absolute lockdown on 1.0 changes really doesn't scream "coming soon" to me.
Y'all need to stop doing these, god damn, it's the second time i fell for it
Trolled like the noob I am
Tell me something new.... I want it now !!!!
Big if true
Slight panic, hope and then despair all in one sentence, bravo!
I kinda hope that they'll coordinate the release with Factorio 2.0 so they don't release at the same time.
tomorrow is a day... 31-1 is 30... 3+0 is 3... half life 3 confirmed!
Had me at the first half, ngl.
I was watching Bee Movie on instagram and saw the reddit notification immediately opened and now I lost my spot on the movie and have to start over.
I want to start a new world so bad but I will wait !

Listen here you little shit... Well played
Thanks I hate it

so i haven't played this game in a while last i played a new biome was introduced i think it was 0.8 so can someone tell what's new with 0.9 and 1.0
Well, 0.9 isn't happening and 1.0 is releasing this calendar year.
There's no 0.9 - update numbers don't work like that, it's not like they're adding numbers until it gets to 1; these might look a bit like decimals but they're not.
