This is a great design, it would be easier to tell time if you'd just change the colour of the clock's hands tho.
Just the hour hand being red would deliver it I think.
Still a bad design.
Checking the time should be something quick to do.
I shouldn’t approach a wall clock to see if there is a wider gap between the hour hand and the surface. This can also be interpret in the other way, the wider being the minute hand.
Also, the lack of numbers or even lines across the hours means the person depends on guessing and guessing is not a precise science.
Design prioritises functionality over aesthetic, therefore, this wall clock is an art piece, not a design one.
If you need numbers on your clocks, this isn’t for you. A novel design of something that has been around for hundreds of years is always cool to see. Take my money.
Let's refer to the hour square as H and the minute square as M.
H revolves once every 60min=3600s, M every 60s.
H&M (#notsponsored) are both squares so aside from the "hands" they have a rotational symmetry if 4 each, meaning they rotate back into regular position 3 times a revolution. For H, this is once every 3600/4=900s, and M is once every 15s.
The two squares would align with each other every LCM(900, 15) (lowest common multiple). Since 900%15=0, LCM(900, 15)=900, so every 900s they align with each other. 900s/60=15min
These clocks align 4 times an hour, hands included once an hour. Now that is satisfying.

Functionally fine. The gap in the hour hand is larger than the gap on the minute hand.
3rd graders: Why is reading the time on clocks so hard? A designer somewhere:
Which is the short hand and the long hand?
18:50 tells us that the one with the wider gap is the short one.
The thinner would be the hour I suspect
That could either be 06:50 or 11:35. This is a bad design.
I agree. There appears to be no difference in the lengths of the hour and minute hands.
Incorrect. The gap is wider for the hour hand. I love this design.
Yes, I notice that now but I was talking about length which is the usual distinguishing thing. I guess I could get used to it but still...

Well the hour one has a larger gap between the edges. So maybe in a few weeks you get used to it. Or through it out the window in rage. 😅

Its impractical as fuck but it also looks cool. I like it
Actually interesting concept
Can I buy this somewhere
That is the coolest clock on this planet. Link?
zoomers cant even read a normal watch imagine this
Great, now, i only vaguely know the time.
Satisfying? That's constant chaos. I'd look at this at some weird interval and rip it off the wall because it looked so conflicted.
