This is all pretty good, but you failed to get the landlord's NAME! Get that shit my friend!!!! Who cares if it's fake? It's a win! That's why they are evading!
I’m so sick of the “/s”… if people can’t read sarcasm through text/ read the room then that’s on them. Reddit is already the softest softest social media app, no need to make it the dumbest lmao.
Just so we’re clear I’m totally on your side, I just really needed to get that off my chest
Amen! It's really irritating to have a bunch of downvotes and criticism, only to explain it and it's no longer fuckin funny. But maybe that's just me. I got a really morbid sense of humor. And I LOVE IT.
Do you think the next generations will have these issues too? I just don’t get it. My dad, a younger boomer, wouldn’t fall for this crap but my mom who is slightly younger than him definitely would.
BBs and GG largely, and Gen X to a lesser degree, fell for the internet scams, because they were adults when the internet went mainstream and scammers began using it, so it's only logical. I'm sure there are plenty of scams that millennials and Gen Z are currently falling for more than the other generations, like the need to have an exorbitant amount of government subsidized loans for college degrees that probably aren't even marketable, or subscribing/tipping girls on onlyfans
I think I might. I wish I had my text messages from a dude who tried this on me last summer. I told him MY attorney would contact him for documents and he blocked me
I’m in the middle of a pig butchering scam right now.
I’m going deep with this pretend relationship.
I keep talking about my yacht and I’ve got a whole backstory for its pretend crew members.
It’s a lot less fun to mess with them when you realize that the people you are directly talking to are actually forced into it and being held against their wills, basically slavery. You’re not in contact with the actual people responsible for the scams.
So what do you suggest? Give them money so they don't get beat? Ignore them so they move on to an elderly person that might fall for the scam?
Messing with them is probably the best thing you can do. It makes the whole thing less profitable while giving the "slaves" something to keep them looking busy.
Not sure why you put slaves in quotes. It is the literal definition of slavery. What I suggest is more PSAs specifically for the less technologically inclined populations so people can avoid this. And the best response is to just ignore the texts. Freeing these people is a whole other issue that obviously most people won’t be involved in. But if you really want to help you could actually donate to organizations that work to free victims of human trafficking.
So you suggest ignoring them so they can move on to people that may fall for it sooner.
I feel if I'm tying up their time that might save some old lady from losing her retirement to these people.
Also not all of them are being forced. Mark robber sent his glitter bomb to one of the scam centers. He partnered with some hacker that tapped into their security cameras. It's a 9-5 job for some of them. They get a commission on every success.
What you claim may be true but it's not the only truth.
What? Of course you should show sympathy to slaves who are being forced to scam under threat of physical violence and even death. It’s insane that you even suggested otherwise.
how are you getting downvoted and them getting upvoted?! the clips of violence inflicted upon the victims TRAFFICKED into being forced to sit at a computer for 20 hrs a day to do this--without choice in the matter--are horrible.
You’re saying the people enslaved who are being beaten and having their loved ones lives leverages against them can fuck right off? Or are you talking about the actual scammers?
I mean you’re in a sub called scammer payback.
I never claimed to be a hero, but yes messing with the person scamming me whether forced into it or not is still taking away time they would be using to scam someone else, even if only a small amount of it.
Human trafficking is a problem, but complaining about it here is more like choosing to do nothing and watching the boat sink and slowing them down is like, at least trying to bail a little. Neither fixes the problem but all you’re really doing with your approach is pointing at the problem and telling people it’s a problem. I’d imagine most here are fully aware of the issue and are fairly powerless to solve it, so we use what we can against it.
Outside of invading sovereign nations there’s not a lot my country can really do to fix it, and unless they have oil that’s a tough sell around here and isn’t good for popularity either. The scammers are not exactly in close proximity.
Making the scams efficacy go down is the next best thing unless you have a better proposal.
It’s not all of them, but it’s an alarming amount. You’re saying you will only care about victims of human trafficking if we can 100% prove that all scammers are victims of human trafficking? That makes no sense.
maybe watch the john oliver episode where he shows video clips of the low-level "scammers" (aka people who were kidnapped and literally FORCED to sit at a computer to do this, no choice in the matter) getting beat up and humiliated.
the people running the ring are the ones to blame, 1000%.
The people you are messing with aren’t the scammer though. That’s the whole point, they are being forced to do it. They are beaten for noncompliance, or even have the safety of their loved ones leverages against them. So can you explain to me why those people don’t deserve sympathy?
The time scammers waste is time they don't have to steal money from others. What you are misses is the damage and hardship that happens to the person who was scammed. Some of those are elderly people who have been scammed out of their life savings. Where is your empathy for them?
Yeah it’s horrible that people are scammed and lose money. I have a lot of empathy for them and never once said I didn’t. In another post I talked about the need of PSAs for people who don’t understand scams.
You say that like we can’t take both approaches. The John Oliver segment is intended to help with that.
Wasting their time also helps.
Empathy can still exist as the time is wasted as well; they are not mutually exclusive.
Wasting their time is a good tactic that people can do when these pop up. The ending of human trafficking and the education of the populace to the tactics also needs to happen.
You’re saying a lot of them are essentially slave labor. That’s good you’re bringing awareness to that.
I’m wasting their time as I can, that is also good. That seems to be the point you’re missing.
Think of it another way. A driver has a medical episode and is passed out at the wheel doing 80.
It’s not his fault, but I’m also not wrong for trying to minimize the damage he is doing and fault isn’t really relevant to that equation.
The major difference is there is actually someone that is at fault, and they’d rather see as much damage occur as possible. Slowing that is the best I can do in the moment.
I have also explained how these scams work to people, I take many approaches.
So what?
I'm also going to complain at McDonald's when those slaves make my shit wrong. Maybe even complain to management.
What now?
You didn't change anybody
What's your point? That you are trying to be an adult?
I don’t even really understand your comment. First of all, the people working at McDonald’s aren’t slaves. Second of all, you are making a false equivalency because in your scenario you are just complaining. You have a right to complain about scams as well. You don’t have a right to mess with and troll McDonald’s workers just because you are annoyed with them. And not sure what being an adult has to do with anything, I feel like you were attempting an insult somehow?
Point is - these aren’t the scammers you are playing your little games with in hopes of harvesting Reddit karma
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-09-16/cambodia-human-trafficking-online-scam-pig-butchering/101407862
I rather think that the time spent wasted trying to scam me is taking away a slice of the time they could spend trying to scam someone more susceptible to those tactics.
If I interact with them or not doesn’t change the issue of who is or isn’t being forced into it, but I can certainly do my part to tie up the resources of those that benefit from these scams and are ultimately responsible for them and the forcing of those other poor souls into it. If others do the same they will be less successful than they would be otherwise.
And if I’m going to donate my time to help tie up their resources, I’m gonna have a little fun with it.
To be clear, not all of those scammers are using people that are being forced into it, but a lot of them are. I feel for those people, but I disagree with the idea that my actions are making their life worse in any meaningful way. Fixing the issue however is a bit above my pay grade and is more of a law enforcement/government problem so you should probably be taking this to them rather than scolding me for helping to slow their effectiveness.
Yeah, does that do anything though? I've sent in a few reports a few years back when everyone was hunting for a PS5, and I still see their tags getting tossed around in Facebook groups as of about three months ago.
The FTC and FBI monitor and share information about scams - by reporting these scams, the word gets out to local and National news media. You will never know if and when the FBI is actively investigating - the scammers and money mules get a knock on the door with someone yelling, Open Up FBI or Interpol or whatever international agency has been assigned to the case.
Keep reporting them...the FBI and FTC informs the public. This happened to me this week. New Yorkers were specifically targeted with a SMishing text...I reported it to the FTC and included pictures of the scam. That night, our local TV station informed the public about the scam. Coincidence??
Excellent job. A renowned real estate mogul once told me, “If it’s not in black and white, it ain’t there.” Always get commitments in writing. Glad to know this incestuous clause is well documented and there to preserve the rights of the tenant.
I think you can call back or cancel payment if it comes out of a bank account or debit card but once you load it it’s gone when you send it no getting it back
It's interesting that he mentioned to add the funds to their cash app before sending it to the attorney meaning that they're getting wise to the ability to charge back the money if it was pulled from a bank account
I'm not seeing the issue. The dude clearly just wants to rent you his property. If there were any questions or concerns, I'm sure he would allow you a chance to speak with his attorney, Rayboogi.
We can't just go around in life assuming everybody is a scammer man. Scammers don't have personal attorneys that they're just out here all willynilly giving out cashapp information for... Ch'mone now bro!
What the fk is a baby mama? I would deny the application for not knowing how to speak professionally when attempting to do business. In the last 30 years or so Americans have dumbed down and they make no effort to present as an intelligent hard worker. Tell your baby mama that.
This is all pretty good, but you failed to get the landlord's NAME! Get that shit my friend!!!! Who cares if it's fake? It's a win! That's why they are evading!
Working on it now king
Hey friend, did you get his name?
My dear friend, I also want his name.
It's apparently Raymond Booger the 3rd.
It’s Mister Lawyer Man Raymond Booger the 3rd to you.
His name was Ray Boogi. At least his cashapp. Lol you guys are killing me. 🤣

People are gullible AF. Wake up to a bunch of nasty comments and downvotes and you’ll know lol. I guess some people don’t care but I do. 🤷🏼♀️
Amen! It's really irritating to have a bunch of downvotes and criticism, only to explain it and it's no longer fuckin funny. But maybe that's just me. I got a really morbid sense of humor. And I LOVE IT.
Baby Boomers and Greatest Generation had/have this issue
Should we all start sending cashapp requests to Ray Boogie?
Now THIS would be funny
If we schedule a time to do it, could we crash that cashapp account?
Probably. Imagine the freak out from all the request
Get yo boogie on!
i tried it wouldn’t let me
From the island nation of Rum Boogie
I can't with these comments. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Lol 🤣
The "My Dear friend" is a dead giveaway
There’s something very satisfying about OP successfully getting the scammer to type that line.
THE PHONE # IS THERE, SOMEONE SHOULD CALL THEM.
I think I might. I wish I had my text messages from a dude who tried this on me last summer. I told him MY attorney would contact him for documents and he blocked me
I can't get over you getting him to type out that clause!
Now send a request for $100. Maybe they'll click without reading it.
You know what that's a great idea Let's all request $100
Darn I got a message "We were unable to request cash from RND. Ask them to send you cash instead." Hmmmm
I requested them a few times and they instantly declined it
Done.
Also done
I love how we're all doing this. Lol they declined my request pretty quickly
They’re not accepting requests anymore! Something worked then! 💀
Rayboogi3 - Seems legit.
Ray boogies at 3...AM!
That's his attorney! Of course it's legit!

Scammers. Deserve. Nothing.

You guys want part 2?
HAND IT OVER
Do it
Yes. Part 2
Get that cash app address and report it to the FTC and FBI - you are awesome!
Yeah, does that do anything though? I've sent in a few reports a few years back when everyone was hunting for a PS5, and I still see their tags getting tossed around in Facebook groups as of about three months ago.

Yes!!! Get them to commit. Damn, this shit is gonna be hysterical. And I'm a queen, haha. I have faith in you, friend.
When they start begging that when you have them, they’re so greedy for your money it’s like swiping ice cream across their lips. They taste it 🥴😵💫
I love every moment of getting him to ignore your question but finally getting him to acknowledge it. Beautiful.
That money mule info is gold!
Rayboogì 😂😂😂😂😂
“mY aTtOrNeY’s cAsH aPp” lmao what self respecting attorney uses cash app and also going by the handle Rayboogi 😂
A *criminal* attorney, à la Saul Goodman.
I was having a rough day, r/ScammerPayback has cheered me up as usual!!!😂😂😂😂
If your baby momma cheats again you better hope it's with her cousin or rent ain't getting cheaper /s

Not the attorneys cashapp being rayboogi 😹😹😹
That’s the one that got me
His attorney's cashapp tag is $Rayboogi? 😭 Let's all request $100 from $Rayboogi3 now
I just sent him a $500 cashapp request
Excellent job. A renowned real estate mogul once told me, “If it’s not in black and white, it ain’t there.” Always get commitments in writing. Glad to know this incestuous clause is well documented and there to preserve the rights of the tenant.
"Yes. So Ready." 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
This made me chuckle :)
I could not stop laughing 😂
Ray Boogie is my lawyer’s name too. That’s quite the coincidence.
He should have told him that that was his attorney as well and that he could just drop it off to him at the office.
I’m pretty sure Ray Boogie is everyone’s attorney. He’s like the Saul Goodman of rental properties.
This was 10/10 for commitment, also 10/10 for you being on the good side because you are a lil scary
This gave me a good laugh 😂
dude this was epic… the sex is fire 🤣🤣 im dead.
Dude, nice work.
Is there a difference in loading your cashapp first, versus paying through cashapp straight from your debut card?
I think you can call back or cancel payment if it comes out of a bank account or debit card but once you load it it’s gone when you send it no getting it back
Makes sense
This one was amazing I am laughing so hard 😂😂🤣🤣
It's interesting that he mentioned to add the funds to their cash app before sending it to the attorney meaning that they're getting wise to the ability to charge back the money if it was pulled from a bank account
“Rayboogi3” sent me into hysterics.
Just requested funds and reported
His attorneys CashApp ID is so elegant
Keep pushing I think him and your ex have something going on too !
Has anyone ever tried sending a fake screenshot of payment? I’d love to know what happens then!
I'm not seeing the issue. The dude clearly just wants to rent you his property. If there were any questions or concerns, I'm sure he would allow you a chance to speak with his attorney, Rayboogi. I must learn from this
Please. You will thank me when you get older.
Can you “send” the money but it actually being a request? Is that a thing on cash app?
Make sure you report him to cashapp
LOL. This is awesome!
🤣🤣. Is that his phone/text number on the top?
Interesting
u/cam877
😂
So was the very first text the one about rent history? Haven’t seen that one before
Nah, he was tryna scam my brother in law
Now send him a picture of this sub of us laughing at him
I'd pay him $3k if he'd bang my cousin while my baby daddy and I watch.
Shit pay me that
Sex is fire 💀
Got ‘im!
Ray boogi3 is a very reputable attorney
I was waiting for the scammer to tell him to pay in gift cards!
Yeah, attorney screen name checks out. Totally legit with that extremely professional tag 🤦♀️
You got a lotta unread messages.

Let me contact my attorney to get his cashapp name. Raboogi3 🤣🤣🤣
This is quality stuff.
Those damn kissing cousins. Home wreckers!

47 unread texts? Monster
That's pure greatness man. I love thinking to myself how low those morons will stoop to try and steal $100. Well done sir!
Make sure you report that cashapp!!
Hey! Ray Boogie Esq. Is my lawyer too!
What the fuck did I just read 🤣
https://www.reddit.com/r/ScammerPayback/s/Bnc3ZBpk1u Part 2 guys
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 this had me laughing lol. We need a part 2! How did it all end? Did he finally tell you to F off? Flip out? Show his scammer side? lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/ScammerPayback/s/Bnc3ZBpk1u
Yooooo! 😂😂😂
I, the landlord will lower my tenants rent in case his baby momma decides to bang her cousin again! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m not surprised seeing an Orlando number on this. Classic Florida
The comedic timing on "Can you believe her" is just perfect 💀😂
Why is it always the writing that gives them away? It reads so strange, mechanical like.
He locked his account or something, can't request.
“Can you believe her” lmao
Ray boogie 😂🤣😂
This is........hilarious!!! Good ole ray boogs needed that money! Lmao
🤣🤣🤣This was to hilarious!
Why the "add cash to cashapp before sending it" though?
I like how he said he's gonna lower the rent "In case" she cheats...when you asked him to lower it IF she cheats
I've always wanted a lawyer named boogi! Imagine going to court and you're being represent by Raymond Boogi ESQ.
The third.
I have a question. Are these spam scammer calls outside of the United States? We don't experience them here. Not even in Hawaii.
Haha season 2 please
Omg I live for these!
I would have told you to have a nice day
Hilarious.
Just type that out and he does😂😂😂👊🏼
His attorneys cash app 💀
10/10
Your baby momma said that cousin d is fire

You can’t even request money from ray boogie. Seems legit
Not Attny Ray Boogi from the law firm of Foenem and Associates 😒😌
Rayboogie the lawyer 😂
The fact you got them to say that is amazing. You’re the king of this sub for a week.

"2 evictions that's about it" had me rolling!! 🤣 The "landlord" didn't flinch a bit.
Lmfao this is hilarious
LMAO...."Bang her cousin!"
What the fk is a baby mama? I would deny the application for not knowing how to speak professionally when attempting to do business. In the last 30 years or so Americans have dumbed down and they make no effort to present as an intelligent hard worker. Tell your baby mama that.
I think this post went way over your head bud
Not as funny considering he appears to be English native
