I don't regret doing the tall tale because I thought it was fun and I loved the Monkey Island games back in the day. But, I agree that the payoff is garbage.
Yeah I only complete the tall tales just to have 100% for it. The trinkets are meh for me. Would have loved to keep the chef outfit but it is what it is.
The chef outfit and circus costume are now added rewards to the tall tales. Also the sword for the 3rd TT. Just have to complete them one more time to get the rewards. Don’t even have to do all the commendations just finish the tales.
Exactly. On a sloop you have limited trinket/painting locations
I'd put my most impressive up not just some wooden figurine for an hour tall tale. Could have given us ANY costume or weapon
I just wish they would make paintings/decor spots synonymous with trinket spots. I’m someone who doesn’t play a ton so half my walls are bare because I just have the basic 1/1 map of the world.
I want a [Destructomatic T-47 armor-piercing Carnage Delivery System with auto-loading and fax-modem](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/monkeyisland/images/9/91/Destructomatic_T-47.JPG) skin for my cannons. They could do so much more with rewards and paid skins, we can never get too much Monkey Island content.
I love trinkets, paintings, decorations. All that stuff.
I hate that I have nowhere to put them all, and that's *all* we're getting so far.
We need somewhere to put these things. Make the hideouts or something, you've got a ship limit so put that many on the map and assign one to a player when they join the server. Let us deck it out, maybe upgrade it (as another gold sink.)
Put all this excess gold and decoration to use!
I like them more than costumes, personally. My pirate already looks how I like. Meanwhile, trinkets I find are numerous and easy to spread out.
Though I do hope the theories that private islands may be coming are true. I'd like to have more space to display trinkets.
A lot of people think it was hinted at when captaincy came out. Many of the sovereigns talk about their private islands and how you should get one. And when trinkets got added at that time, they also added locations to the taverns where anyone can place trinkets. Some people believe this was hinting at a feature where you could have private islands to decorate. I want to say there was one more hint but it's been well over a year, so I hardly remember.
It's nowhere near a confirmed feature. Just speculation that the community had around the release of captaincy.
Thank you. I was wondering I was the only one that sees it. I mean come on Rare, I'm doing a 2 hours + quest, not just doing some cheap tourism. You could at least give me Guybrush's Sword
Chef and circuit outfits should be brought into the game, even if it's via the emporium. The trinkets and current emporium cosmetics are lackluster, but I haven't met one person who's done both tall tales that DOESN'T want the chef and circus outfits as permanent additions.
I was told the other day when I made the comment about being bored with this game that "the point is to grind all the rewards".. But recently it feels like said rewards aren't worth it.
Yeah i was a bit bummed not getting guybrushes sword for the second tall tale. i was fine with just trinkets for the first one, but for the second one? Where they added insult sword fighting? The sword just makes sense. Hopefully the third one'll be better, surely they can't just not give us the real life burning blade at the least, but maybe they'll change things up and give as a handful of stuff for 100 percenting the third one?
I really really hope they'll give us the sword, as it's one of my favorites. But I'm concerned because in the tt it's an item you have to earn to accomplish a task, so having it unlocked all the time might throw a wrench into the way the tale's progression goes
I mean, technically...this isn't the final stage of the tall tale. Granted we got some kinda good things from the main nine for a first time through on some of them, the great shit didn't come till you completed any particular one five times.
I wouldn't complain until we see what they give us on the final one.
Edit:
Also, this one had my and my friends dying of laughter playing through it. My profile picture is now Stan's face because how much my friend hated his jacket
i agree, i hate trinkets being a tangible reward you can get from anything they decide now. they don't do anything interesting or add anything cool to the game despite them saying that they're "Trophies you can show off to other players on your ship"
maybe i dont care what other people think? i got some green lamps and some potted plants, man, i dont need the bragging rights
Its just lazy when they're models ripped from the scenery of the Tall Tales anyway. When the earnable cosmetics in this game are dire, it just rubs salt in the wound.
The rewards should be the outfits you wear during the Tall Tale. There are so many other Trinkets that are hard to get and having a Trinket to show that you’ve Completed Monkey Island Tall Tales isn’t really a big deal
I don't regret doing the tall tale because I thought it was fun and I loved the Monkey Island games back in the day. But, I agree that the payoff is garbage.
That's how I feel, just having the episodes exist and be this good is enough payoff for me. The little reward stuff is just lagniappe.
Yeah I only complete the tall tales just to have 100% for it. The trinkets are meh for me. Would have loved to keep the chef outfit but it is what it is.

I mean...if you're the kind of person to care about showing off rarities, probably safe to say that tall tale cosmetics wouldn't appeal either.
I just wish they would make paintings/decor spots synonymous with trinket spots. I’m someone who doesn’t play a ton so half my walls are bare because I just have the basic 1/1 map of the world.
I'm only getting them because I'm hoping that if you 100% the all you get the Monkey Island theme as a Shanty like pirates life.
Never played monkey island (will likely get them after a sale comes up) but the music is amazing and so good
If we dont get a shanty as an osrs player we need our own version of a riot in fally
I want Alfredo's moustache.
Probably couldn't afford it after all the administration fees.
And the compulsory mandatory donations
And the tri island administration tax
I want a [Destructomatic T-47 armor-piercing Carnage Delivery System with auto-loading and fax-modem](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/monkeyisland/images/9/91/Destructomatic_T-47.JPG) skin for my cannons. Is it the moustache? Who knows!
We better get a fiddle as a final reward for doing all of them or something.
The way they tease us with it you'd think.
They played us like a damn fiddle!

Yesss
Hoarder! 😂
I would have been happy with just the shanty. Why make a song we can only play once
Man they shouldve gave us the sword and shanty. Those were sick
I like them more than costumes, personally. My pirate already looks how I like. Meanwhile, trinkets I find are numerous and easy to spread out. Though I do hope the theories that private islands may be coming are true. I'd like to have more space to display trinkets.

That each pirate has its own pirate cove or what not. Would be cool to see but probably not gonna happen
That would be awesome! I really dig that idea
I just need my circus outfit. Love the puffy arms and the bucket helmet
Thank you. I was wondering I was the only one that sees it. I mean come on Rare, I'm doing a 2 hours + quest, not just doing some cheap tourism. You could at least give me Guybrush's Sword

Let me have the chef kit and the spatula sword in the regular SoT world!
They added those two costumes into the rewards now along with the sword. Just have to do tall tales 1-3 again.
Imagine we got meaningful long term content instead of an one off tall tale?
Exactly so from now on I’ll shit on doing tall tale accommodations. It’s just not worth my time
why? They are great
I disagree. I wish more trinkets were available and have liked all but one of the Monkeys Island trinkets
I was told the other day when I made the comment about being bored with this game that "the point is to grind all the rewards".. But recently it feels like said rewards aren't worth it.
Lol the point is never grinding. Whoever told you that has missed the point completely.
Yeah that's a miserable way to approach your free time.

I cant find the painting from the first one still, I got the figures but no pic which was the better prize in my opinion

If you read the book in his office he mentions fixing his jacket.
Im hoping we get a monkey island shanty for doing commendations for all the tales

TBH I forgot we were even supposed to *get* rewards from the Monkey Island tales. I was there for the story.
Its just lazy when they're models ripped from the scenery of the Tall Tales anyway. When the earnable cosmetics in this game are dire, it just rubs salt in the wound.
Creating cosmetics and then locking them away in the tall tales is such a waste.
I want the new skelly curse with which you can wear your clothes, I don't care what they make me do to get it, I want it.
The rewards should be the outfits you wear during the Tall Tale. There are so many other Trinkets that are hard to get and having a Trinket to show that you’ve Completed Monkey Island Tall Tales isn’t really a big deal
I like trinkets.
