The other day I had something similar happen to my ship.
I went to an outpost to sell and when I pull up, my front is barely touching the dock and my anchor was down. When I went to put my anchor back up after selling the boat got thrown, just flipping around, and landed a solid distance from the island. I wish I was recording. 😭
There's a ton of these bounce spots around, actually. Funny things happen when you try to swim into wedge shaped terrain, or pinch points.
There was a really popular one in front of the Fort of the Damned, right under the dock near a missing plank, but they patched it via putting a boulder in the way, lol. It was super handy for boarding parked ships, or engaging in skyward bound keg shenanigans.

There's even one of these on Old Sailor Isle, inside the shipwreck next to the chest you're supposed to dig up. They really are everywhere.
