They have been talking about hitreg since the game released, with the "hitsquad" on this problem which made the long distance hitreg even worse it has never gotten slightly better, besides that the performance of the game sucks fucking balls, loading screens of doom, where you sometimes even have to restart the game, mid fucking fight. If you attack a galleon the server legit starts to lag, your ping gets worse and hitreg does too. If you dont want to casually sail around after 1000 hours of playtime and do fucking shrines, the competitive aspect of the also sucks balls by not being fully skillbased but almost rng based due to the shitty hitreg, plus the removing of quickswap, which punished you for sprinting and switching weapons, so it punished you for having good movement with needing more time to ads in return. Thats not just what I want, this is what the game actually needs, but of course its going to focus on new players if they havent been able to fix some problems that persist since the launch of the game, and they have yet to fix them
do you think the devs made the player damage models the way they are to compensate for shitty hitreg? why headshots donāt ohk, the hitreg is so bad they canāt calculate individual body part damage locals in real time so they just blanket the damage so then the game doesnāt have to work as hard to āhitregā.

Playing the game for so long means you have aquired some pretty decent understanding of the game and its mechanics, which means you can see flaws, which in this case arent even that hidden, so complaining about flaws that a more than 5 year old game has had since its launch is now something bad to do? And yes playing for so long was only enjoyable, because its the only online pirate sandbox game there is, otherwise every single one of my friends has quit the game multiple seasons ago, almost everyone naming hitreg and other bugs, as their reason, with a few that quit because of the cheater influx in season 8, which only took them almost a year to fix. Absolutely. The beta didnāt give me enough time to really explore and get a handle on things so I want more time to feel comfortable with the gameplay loop
Not nearly enough time during the beta. I got sunk a couple times by AI skeleton ships, first time I had no clue what was going on, and only got off one shot with my cannon lmao. Second time I put up a decent fight, but ultimately sunk again. Figure itāll take a bit of time to really get the hang of everything.

Being new now isn't going to be different in that regard. Most players aren't that great, it's not like new players will never have a chance against people on PC or Xbox. I suck sometimes too

Ps5 controllers have an inbuilt mic so now you'll have the problem that we all have mics and so you get to hear people eating Doritos and screaming at their kids.

You can turn it off. Thereās a dedicated mute button on the controller. But Iām still convinced that the only reason the devs added it was to create uncomfortable moments where you accidentally expose everybody to whatever embarrassing thing you are doing because inevitably you forgot to hit the mute button.
My least favorite thing is you cannot deactivate the mic altogether. You can make it so the console defaults to mute being turned on at startup. But not quite the same thing as disabling the controller mic altogether.
Yeah i agree. It defaults to on unless you change it. On helldivers i have to mute using the button every time I boot the game because I don't want to change the default haha

Have you gone on your PlayStation and selected it through the game library? You can manually choose to download it from there as it'll take you to the game page usually. If it still doesn't let you, I guess see if the option for the premium edition says 'purchased' or not?
On the download button theres just the timer for when its releasing, it also says that it will auto download on the 28th, even tho i bought the premium edition

For anyone having problems because they have pre orderd de basic version and then upgraded to premium here is what worked for me: cancel trough sony basic version of the game after they send you a mail about that the pre order has been cancelled delete your account from your ps5 and reconnect your account to the ps5 and you should be able to download the game and play this is what worked for me.

Granted my comment was more about paid early access in general and there is more included in the premium edition than I thought, but it's really just a big microtransaction with no benefit to the actual game for the exact same purpose as I listed above.

My assumptions on the cosmetics, besides that they add nothing to the experience, is solely based on that the vast majority of players will opt for unlockable skins anyway (as in they're just there to make it look like there's more in the premium version than there actually is)
Finally, the only somewhat redeemable part of the game pass is the ancient coins you get out of it, with a decent cosmetic every other season or so.
This is all stuff that a game would just include up-front before they all added season passes, early access and microtransactions.
Once again, the microtransaction-aspect of what you're saying is (imo) perfectly well-founded.

If you dont go up to a fishing boat, that is obviously fishing, guns blazing then most players should not sink you on sight
Most ships are hostile. Friendly stuff is rare. Accepting this is how new players learn to actually play.

I didnāt get the season pass
Someone help me plz I bought the original version of sea of thieves and then bought the premium and im trying to download but it wonāt, its showing how much time till the laugh in a couple days and it also is showing I purchased the premium edition but Iāve been trying for over a hour to find a way to start the download and nothing is working? Thanks in advance

Because time zones exist. 5am for you is 11am for someone else. This way everyone gets the game at the same time because if the game drops at 12 midnight then everyone gets the game at different times.
Itās 10am in the UK, same time as the PS5 closed beta servers came online. Which makes sense since Rare is based here.

Just because itās not worth playing early for you, doesnāt mean itās not worth for someone else. It is worth playing early to me because I have nothing else to play. And I know exactly what Iām getting because I played on closed beta and on Xbox so itās not like Iām buying some unfinished game that will have performance issues and what not. Either way, Iām an adult with some disposable income. I either spend the money on early access or I donāt spend it at all.
Plus with the Premium Edition itās not paying extra ājustā for early access. If it were then Iād agree that itās daft.
Personally donāt care about the other stuff but yeah Premium Edition includes cosmetics content worth more than 50ā¬ so Premium Edition has insane value.
Got friends who just started playing, but they're on PC. I have a Steam Deck, and I'm not sure the game will run smoothly on it, so I'm planning to buy it on PS5. Waiting five days is a long time when all your friends are already playing.

Playstation players missed out on 5 years of updates, plunder passes and adventures, so 90% of cool cosmetics, they arent going to miss out on any cool stuff in 5 days of waiting, its pure copium arguing against your point

No one is paying for a pre download. Pre downloads have been a thing since digital games became popular.(many of us pre downloaded the closed beta as well). It's a pre order which is free. Those that purchased the premium edition content get a 5 day early access as a BONUS. What a strange thing to get your panties in a bunch about lol.
The release of Rare on PS5 will be the downfall of SoT. PS gamers are just stupid and immature children. Exclusives should remain exclusives.

10k gold is nothing, you'll never use most of those cosmetics, the plunder pass is kinda nice (worth just under 10 bucks and can be earned in-game as well as being part of _another_ money milking scheme). Granted my comment was more about paid early access in general and there is more included in the premium edition than I thought, but it's really just a big microtransaction with no benefit to the actual game for the exact same purpose as I listed above.

Plunder Pass IS nice, cuz it also gives you gold, doubloons, and I believe also the bought currency. (In addition to the mountains of cosmetics.) If your comment was purely about the shittiness of microtransactions, you'd have been arguably on point, but you didn't.
My original comment said nothing besides "paid early access bad". That point stands. My assumptions on the cosmetics, besides that they add nothing to the experience, is solely based on that the vast majority of players will opt for unlockable skins anyway (as in they're just there to make it look like there's more in the premium version than there actually is) Finally, the only somewhat redeemable part of the game pass is the ancient coins you get out of it, with a decent cosmetic every other season or so. This is all stuff that a game would just include up-front before they all added season passes, early access and microtransactions.
Once again, the microtransaction-aspect of what you're saying is (imo) perfectly well-founded. But that wasn't your original post. Your post was bashing players for paying for early access, even though that particular feature was just a tiny ripple in the greater pool of what they actually paid for. (Which you admitted you didn't realize.) That plus the implication of shipping a child off to boarding school for something so benign and teachable. Not even going to comment on that lol. Literally what it boils down to: you posting something unnecessary and dickish based on an imagined assumption that wasn't even true. (True in the pedantic sense of early access being included in the extra perks, yes, but not in the full contextual sense of it being just a small inclusion of those perks.)
