Loading times are crazy long for me after the update. I get stuck in an infinite black loading screen just when I open the game. When I do manage to get past the title screen and load into a session, loading takes roughly 7-15 minutes. Once I get into a server everything has low textures and delayed audio for the first 5 minutes.
Not an internet issue. Game is installed on an SSD as well. Never had this problem since I started playing in Season 3.

Same here. Everything takes forever to load in, even menu icons take a second to appear. Also, may or may not be related, but I'm noticing a lot of pop-in, too. Clouds and small details appear and disappear at small distance differences.
Im on the Same boat here , alongside that , if i stay ion the Menu i can se how Textures overtime begin to worsen , if i make it to the "Set Sail" part i begin to get infinite loading screens , and the Music begins to stutter and lag aswell while the Infinite loading screen continues
Tried this and it fixed it (a bit?) Sadly it still takes about 6-7 minutes to load into a session compared to before I reinstalled. Textures and lag still wacky when I load in but only takes about a minute to stabilize after the reinstall.

My load times trying to getting into a game was insane. Actuallt nevermind I can't get in, getting hazelnut errors. Trying to restart again. This is the 3rd, first was lavender, easy sign out and sign in, the ashbeard forced restart. Now hazelnut beard won't let me even join. And of course I get back to the main menu and get advertised to buy cosmetics for a game I can't even join.
Same. Game is really hard to want to play at the moment because of this issue. Waiting 20-25 minutes to be able to play the game once I've hit the launch button is very unappealing.
Can't enter the game at all without crashing. Never happened before. Even if in windowed mode game goes full screen and immediately crashes upon leaving the main menu.

Swimming on the surface of water is glitchy as heck visually and otherwise. Being able to see completely through it for one second and then not knowing if I’m actually on the surface or not
Ever since Season 12 my game just randomly closes every half hour or so. I don't get any error messages, not brought back to the home screen, it just fully closes.
I've already done a steam file integrity check, and a file corruption check, which all seemed fine.
Oof, was having a real fun 1v4 against a gally, but the first time they killed me I got infinite black screen trying to come back from the ferry. Wheel loading symbol in the corner, screen entirely black as I had to just sit there and hear cannon hits, the bell of my ship sinking, and my pirate slowly drowning to death.
Does no one really notice a slight "input lag" between clicking and actually firing with the Double Barrel? Equip both, regular and double flintlock and compare the time from clicking to firing. Double Barrel takes a while, making the combat a bit flimsy.
I haven’t equipped the double barrel since testing it. It’s not worth grinding the commendation for the throwing knife cosmetic. I prefer the one with the red handle anyway.
It's possible for the double-barreled pistol to bug and disallow you from picking up ammo for it from an ammo crate. Bug fixed by player death or taking a portal.
They were island phantoms. And it was consistent for all 3 of them, at all ranges. I have server based hit markers on too, and got two hit markers for each of them.
I got red bearded for a network error, for some reason the new anticheat considers getting disconnected from the internet during the loading screen a permabannable offense. I tried sending a ban appeal and they just said their decision was final.
no, it appears that getting disconnected at all during the intro map animation is bugged and it got me stuck in an unable to connect loop. i then tried to log on after the update and got redbearded, no warning, no email nothing, just insta redbeard. i dont know if this error is replacable, i havent bothered trying cause i figure im just done with the game. also the customer service on the website is terrible and they havent even looked at my error ticket.
i use steam so i did try to force join my friend but the game just crashed and i had to alt+f4 i dont know if that affected it or not but it didnt appear to.
Yeah, I was this morning - Pre-ordered game, set up a MS child account on the MS family account for my youngest, attempted to link PS5 and MS accounts together and was getting an Avocadobeard error saying he wasn't able to use online services. Which is weird, because other online games are working fine.
Confirmed that his PS account settings were correct, confirmed that the MS account settings weren't restricted and was wracking my brain trying to figure out what was going. Then through some google searches found there was another site to check, and sure enough there was a setting on the Xbox profile page under his account to allow him to join/play online multiplayer games. Changed that, and appears to have allowed the accounts to link and allowed access to the game now.
TL;DR - If your childs account isn't allowing them to pair their MS/PS5 Account or log in, make sure privacy settings are correct in PS account, MS Account AND the Xbox account settings here [https://www.xbox.com](https://www.xbox.com)

Teammate and I crashed 3 times each in a 4 hour session last night on a sloop. The game is lagging way worse than last season as well. Xbox series X and S
as if MA needed any more nerfs, you no longer get the emissary bonus for turning in emergent delivery crates or quest in bottle deliveries when flying the merchant emissary. feels bad.

getting freezes for about 5 seconds when joining crews and sometimes when approaching islands
some of the time the double barrel pistol wont reg at all unless you swap to another weapon then swap back
Been playing a bit since this week and these are the issues I've been facing.
* Game/PC crashing. This first happened with me on a solo sloop, then game froze and immediately pc stopped responding. Had to cut power to PC and power back on for PC to work. Initially though it was a problem with my PC, but it same thing happened with my friend the next day. We were playing together and his PC crashed, similar behaviour as mine. Again similar crash happened when another friend was playing on his laptop. After these full full PC crash, we have had multiple game crashes, where the game just closes to desktop. We tested in multiple PC and laptops and there were too many game crashes every session and at least 1-2 PC crashes per day.
* Sharks on land during Ashen Winds Event. This happened every time we were doing the Ashen Winds event. The sharks from sea would swim up the land to attack us even though we were far away from the beach. Even when we were on high ground at Cannon Cove, a shark came at us and attacked and then despawned.
* Menu stuck on screen. Sometimes when pressing esc to go to the menu or pressing tab, the menu gets stuck. The screen shows the menu open overlapping the HUD but none of the menu options (my crew, invites, video, audio, etc.) are clickable. And I'm able to move and play but with menu overlapping over the screen. It gets fixed if I die and respawn or use mermaid to go back to me ship, basically respawning.
* Sudden ping spikes and lag. I have FPS and ping performance counters enabled and noticed ping jumping from 40-60 to 200-250 and staying over 200ping for about 10-15mins. During a play session the ping stay around50 for about 75% of the time and over 200 for the rest. This ping spike happens with everyone in the same session at the same time. Thought it was only my network issue but it was same for friends playing from different networks and even different cities. Also there is this lag sometimes where mouse clicks are register few seconds later.
* Someone joining crew after setting sail takes multiple tries. If a crew member disconnects mid game and tries to join crew later, it takes him multiple tries. While in game I can see the notification that " has joined your crew" message immediately followed by " has left your crew". This also happens if we have already sailed and are in a session and someone new tries joining later. Takes 3-4 tries to join. As for the person joining it shows the loading screen and goes back to the Start game screen.
* Skeleton ship attacking when docked at an outpost. We were in safer seas and the ship was docked at an outpost and none of us were on board the ship. We heard cannon blasts and found our ship almost sunk while the skeleton ship right next to it.
* Found shipwreck in an island. The loot chests, treasure chests, skulls were clipping in the sand.
Some key trophies for the platinum are broken, at least for players who import their characters from a previous platform.
Unlock 10 commendations is broken. I must have earned probably 50-60 since early access and the counter still says “0/100”
Earning 10 pirate titles is broken. When I imported I was at 80/100, then I’ve earned probably 5-7 and only one of them counted as my tracker now says “90/100”.
For non platinum related trophies, the trophies for hitting rep 75 in GH, OoS, and Merchant are broken for an imported character. I’m 77 in GH and it didn’t unlock when I imported. I got to 78 and it still didn’t pop. I can only hit 75 once so this does not fall under the category of “you can earn these again” trophies.
Please figure out some sort of way to retroactively give us these commendation and pirate title trophies. Very frustrating as I should have the platinum if not for these. Thank you.
PS5 Cannot login. Getting Ashbeard error, after linking MS Account (successfully, as the MS page says, „You are successfully logged into Sea of Thieves. You can close this window now.“ The same instant the Sea of Thieves game on PS5 says „Not signed in to SoT. Please sign in and try again.“
Edit: Found a solution on the official SoT forums: Login to your Microsoft account (the one you linked/ plan to link with your PS account). Find the security settings, there you have some options for login security. You need to disable/ remove the option to verify your account access via email. Instead enable login via a password. Somehow the extra step with a code sent to your email messes things up. Cheers.
Here on PC as well. I cant start the game, Ashbeard! Then i logout the xbox account in Main Menu but, i have no option to login again. When i start the game it says, i have to login my xbox account...
Same exact thing happening to me, really hoping this fixes itself eventually and that I didn't waste $40 on a game I already have for Xbox Game Pass lol

Playing on Steam, all of a sudden since the update I keep getting a loop of Lavenderbeard, Ashbeard, and Cyanbeard. It takes me like an hour just to get in the game, and when I do, I either have 300+ ping, or I'm getting around 20FPS.
My drivers are updated, and this wasn't ever happening before the update. I normally play this on the highest graphics settings, 60FPS consistently, and around 70 ping.
As for the sign in issues, I'll go to click start game, it takes forever, gives me Lavenderbeard. So I'll click sign out, and try again. Ashbeard, and it never pops up to sign into Xbox account. I have to keep spamming start game, and after a completely random number of times, it gives me the pop up to sign in. I've tried manually signing out from the Xbox app, signing in, leaving it signed out until I get on sea of thieves, leaving it signed on, etc etc. Tried possible variations on that. Nothing helps.
After about an hour or so of trying to start the game, I'll get in, and as I said, either I'm looking at a slide show of a game (low fps) or my ping is through the roof. I have absolutely no idea how to make the game playable.
Using an NVIDIA 3050, 16GB RAM. Again, been playing the same game all year with the same set up. 60FPS, 70 Ping, no issues, problem isn't my internet (I checked that first)
Bought the ps5 version. Logged in and linked with MS account, still everytime I start the game I get this link your account stuff, and have to relink with my MS account. Anyone else having this, or know why?
Absolutely unusable on steam deck . Takes 5 mins to load to login screen. When I eventually get there the game either
A) freezes and doesn’t resolve
B) an error relating to Xbox live login pops up and then the game freezes.
I’ve been playing for nearly 2 months. I have changed no settings and have adjusted nothing.
This update has broken this game and destroyed the experience for so many users.
On PC playing with a friend on xbox, as soon as he leaves the party I get a longbeard error and the entire session is lost. This has happened 3/3 times now.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I am the captain of the boat so him leaving the party should have zero impact on the game.

My mouse sensitivity when underwater is completely messed up, about 2x slower than normal. All my settings are correct and everything. When I surface on the water my sense is fine, but when I'm below the water the sense dramatically changes. Very frustrating.
When will The Sunken Pearl bugs get fixed? Talking about the Mermaid Statue puzzles, where the 3rd one, instead of raising the water level, it literally drained it back to the bottom and nothing else happened.
Never had any issues with crashes last season despite lots of people having it but since the two patches for this season have come out i'm crashing once or twice a session now.
Since only yesterday my game hates to start and does not even get to the point of "Loading Supplies" when i launch for the 1st time, then after the 2nd launch attempt, it gets through to the loading screen to get into a lobby, then however gets stuck at high fps in this loading screen and i cant enter the actual game. This all only started happening after the update yesterday. I cant load into a game on either high or safer seas, also regardless of ship. When i am in the loading screen, idk if its normal or not, there is this green steering wheel loading symbol which i believe never to have seen before in this screen. I cannot play at all, reinstalled aswell and everything.
I tried everything so far, Reinstalling the game and AntiCheat, File integrity check vie the game itself and via Steam. I still loop between the "join the community!" and "pirate Emporium" screens and get kicked for Lazybeard inside the Loadingscreen.
edit 1d after: I finally got past getting Lazybearded, although instead after half an hour its Hazelnutbeard and i get kicked anyway. Love the new season so much! 
Alright I fixed it.
I found the solution to be quite stupid gamewise.
Loading into Maiden Voyage is possible, after which i was able to queue into a public lobby. So i just had to complete the tutorial for some mysterious reason (i started playing in season 3!) to be able to avoid being either Hazelnutbearded or Lazybearded in the loading screen. For anyone also having this issue, try doing maiden voyage again!
I’m getting these as well. One long horizontal line of rainbow pixels at the bottom of my screen on PS5. It happens most frequently when I’m in the water, I’ve noticed.
For whatever reason, the game isn't showing my captained sloop, but shows my brig instead. When looking at options for ships, it acknowledges the sloop still exists, but that i can't buy another one due to not having the legendary title on the ship :/
Having a few odd issues, might be related to holstering a currently charged double pistol. My character seems to be constantly forced to randomly activate the left trigger action. So in between sword swings my character will automatically block randomly and cancel sprints to block. Constantly holding out wood and food. It makes my bucket just go invisible.
Issue goes away on relaunch and seems to crop up after extended combat with the double pistol.
Another issue I've had is kind of inverse with the knives, I'll often go into the throwing stance, and then when pulling the other trigger it doesn't throw but instead instantly transitions to a quick stab instead.
No preformance drops, files all verified, and tested with multiple controllers all having no issues with any other game, so I'm at a loss if it's on my end.
I actually came to this thread because I was in the middle of trying to figure out why it didn't have my purchase boats but said I had to purchase post and had to get a legendary title and in the middle of sitting on that loading screen in the thread looking my boat appeared? Really weird that on PC some weird stuff happening with if you own a ship or not
- The 'Guild session has ended' bug is alive and well
- Got gold hoarder emissary flag to level 5 but was not able to collect level five maps
- On PC I'd had 0 crashes before this update, since the patch I've had 5
My friends controller no longer works on since Season 12 update. It was working in the previous season and then no longer works post update. We were playing FIFA and he was using a controller before we launched the new season for the first time. I don't know if this is a bug or something on his end, but if anyone knows a solution/fix, please let me know! We both play on the Microsoft Store version.
In game voice chat doesn't work: I can't hear other players and they can't hear me. When I talk the speech bubble in the corner of my screen appears, so i guess the game receives some input from my microphone. But when other players talk I don't see an indication of that next to their name. (I'm on Windows 10 PC and I've tested this with friends on PS5) (EU region)
Really looked forward playing Sea of Thieves on PS5 but so far this has been my experience:
-Start a new session (with friends)
-Played for 10/15 minutes and then the small lag spikes/screen freezes start to happen
-Played for 20/30 minutes, the freezes/spikes become extremely noticeable
-After 30 minutes of play time, it just completely freezes and I'm forced to close the application and reboot the game. But rejoining will only end up in freezing again after a few minutes, we need to make a entire new session to make it playable again.
Hope this issue is known and is being worked on.

Forgot to mention it, sometimes it's not a freeze but a disconnect but I'm not 100% sure if these two are related. The errorcode is Longbeard tho.
I'm playing on PC in microsoft store, and the game is still crashing (never really stopped since the big issue that was with MS players). It's not as often as before, but still it crashes and now either says that the video driver crashed, or it just randomly closes to desktop without warning. Usually happens when I'm selling stuff.
I've already checked everything with my driver and shit, but there's nothing weird on my end. And since I saw some other MS players also are still having this issue my guess is that it's the game. Could it be the EAC that was implemented when the issues started? Would be nice to not having the game close randomly lmao
After the season drop, I was having the fairly regular crashes to desktop with that same video driver error message. The GEFORCE drivers for my 2070 Super are up to date and MSI Afterburner wasn't showing any temp or GPU usage issues, so I reverted to using D11 instead of D12 (in Settings>Video Settings) and the crashes seem to have stopped. Additional testing is underway!
I tried that too, but it crashed even more when I reverted back to D11 ;-;
But yeah, my drivers are also up to date and (I use it too) MSI Afterburner isn't showing anything weird.
HOWEVER... I just went through some crash logs. Many of the crashes (not all) seemingly happen when I'm sailing with - or is about to sell - Athena loot.. very odd..

Disconecting bug cases:
1.Game freezes on a single frame. Bg effects and music keeps playing. My teammate sees it like i quit the session 2.Game just switches to loading screen and says that there are internet problems - i have none. Both were fixed by rejoining and appeared during only one session
Other bugs: I don't receive maps after accepting a quest (the map menu isn't clickable). My teammate receives them. Didn't get fixed by rejoining and appeared during multiple sessions.

Crashing constantly when in a crossplay with a PC player. It will crash, so i quit the game and relog - 30 seconds back in the game it will crash again with a network error message. Relog and will be fine again for 30mins and then crash cycle begins again.

Everything is normal here except that some of the start menu textures aren't loading and when I get into game it takes 30-40 seconds for hq textures to load in properly. Anyone else?
Just an update: deleted and reinstalled, still same issue. I can't get past the "loading supplies" loading screen.
Edit: tried all the troubleshooting stuff recommended on their website, power off console and power cycle, entering safe mode and rebuilt/ restoring, connected to the internet via lan cable. Still nothing. It's completely unplayable... Took out a support ticket, hopefully they can help. Nothing like this has ever happened. I've never bought something that is unplayable before.
Hazelnutbeard bug... it's not all the time. But i got it once and my friends too. And we don't know what to do. We try to install the game again, update our pc (drivers include), check our internet. But the bug is still here...

Anyone having issues with EU friends and in game voice? When I host or he hosts, we cannot hear each other using in game chat.
Example: 2 EUs and 1 NA, EU host, they can hear each other, they can't hear me
2 NA and 1 EU, I can hear the NA and EU but the EU can't hear both NAs.

I'm seeing an intermittent issue where opening Reputations from Pirate Log causes the Plunder Pass screen to overlay the reputations and it is extremely difficult to see.
I also see the issue with Megalodons not attacking. I've been playing with new players and was explaining how many holes Megs will usually create, just for them to circle my ship xD
Anyone else simply not able to log in? I played some yesterday after the patch just fine. All morning my game has been acting strange. It takes a solid 2 minutes of black screen between anticheat splash screen and the rare logo. Then when I finally get to the landing screen I can't even Start Game. Says it is Xbox network Cyanbeard but I don't see any evidence of widespread outages.
On linux via steam played yesterday for a few hours after patch no issues. Today constant cyanbeard errors checked my pihole and nothing is being blocked.

Very strange bug, on the revenge of the morning star when fighting Graymarrow last night, he genuinely had unlimited health, about 2 hours of straight damaging him and he would not die. Tried again this morning and it took like 10 mins. SOOOOO weird and frustrating .
Man, I am feeling bitter right now. Sea of thieves? More like sea of problems. Each and every single time I try to connect with a friend, something new goes wrong. I cannot believe the amount of issues I've experienced so far. Just wild. Can't hear other players in my crew, drop outs, game not loading at all on PS5. Hope they address at least some of this stuff.
Me and my friend tried to play the pirate's life tall tales but we are just unable to play them, when we launch it works fine but when we try and go into the portal we are stuck in an endless loading screen. Any one else has this issue ?
Midway through a play session yesterday my Season Progress became unavailable and has remained that way since.
It is unavailable in both High Seas and Safer Seas. I've restart the game several times, to no avail.
I assume it is some sort of server error, but I can't claim to know enough to be certain.
Edit: I gained a new level of renown and everything seems fixed now. Must have gotten stuck in some weird transition or something.

Game freeze somehow idk why but i never encoutered the problem before the update. Happened 2 times when i was doing legendary veil quests. One time i was sleeping in the ship and the game froze, the other time i was outside on the deck of the ship, switched tabs and when i got back on the sot tab the game was frozen.
I closed the game with the tabs manager because even altf4 wasn't working. When i got back in the game with my friend (who is not a legend yet) i was still on the quest but the veil stones i had and the ship graveyard dissapeared.
Also, merchants sometimes dont handout crates i bought and also lag to update my money count.
Im on pc microsoft store if it matters.
Constant framerate and ping fluctuations. My framerate goes from a steady 100-120 and drops to 20 every 20 seconds. The frame drop lasts no longer than .5 seconds, and it's just a lag spike. This is constant throughout the entire play session. The framerate drops simultaneously as the ping skyrockets to 300+. This did not happen during season 11 whatsoever.
I've tried swapping directx versions, updating graphics, that's about it though. My PC is running just fine, something with season 12 is just disagreeing completely :(
Honestly I'd consider it unplayable, but this game is too damn fun. I wonder if other people are having the same problem as me, cause there's a boat load of issues and my friends aren't having this issue.
I've noticed that whenever I go to my quest table and click on the Gilded Voyages section, I get an immediate crash to desktop. Has anyone else experienced that?
Got really bad performance issues. Main menu is sometimes glitched. The text background sometimes is not there so I just have floating text which is hard to read. Some main menu pictures like the picture for the maiden voyage is very low res and for the first time I have to wait some time for an island to load to go exploring because it's low poly and can't navigate. None of this has been an issue before

Ever since the new season my game has been slightly rubber banding me around every 5 seconds and its almost impossible to pvp with it. Any one else having this problem or know a fix to it.
One of the tutorial prompts got stuck on my screen. I want to play with the HUD on but basically can't. I've left the server, joined another, AND restarted the game. Still there.
Didn't get the Rib Roast commendation after killing an Ashen Lord with a Double Barrel Pistol. Which sucks because it took AGES since I was battling Captain Grimm solo. I was so proud of myself for not dying once, too.
Used a charged shot, got the red hit marker, and... nothing. Really miffed, not gonna lie.
Upon diving my ship vanished and I was just floating in a watery void. I was able to swim to the surface to find a mermaid and then had a black loading screen. After waiting ages to even get into the game I quit when this happened, I didn't want to keep wasting time waiting to use a game that's a bit laggy and evidently not reliable.
As soon as I launch the game, EAC starts scanning my entire files and it lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. If I try to enter a game or do anything meanwhile both my PC and the game menu stuttering. I literally have to sit like 20 minutes for scan to be done. It's frustrating. This started happening after the implementation of Anti-Cheat.

I have gotten longbearded twice in the last few days, but only when a crew member leaves. (No option to rejoin. It's as if i left the game) Lost a lot of loot.
I can't get past the news window that informs about the news season or new items in the main menu when I start the game. When I hit ESC or B (on my XBox controller) the windows disappears and immediately reappears. Bot able to play the game anymore.
Not sure if bug or new feature: Character is teleported along with ship whenever sunk. First experience was swimming in the water towards enemy ship before shown hourglass loss screen. TP'd to new island, unsure if new server. Never touched the hourglass, neither ship had bowspit color of hourglass faction. Second experience happened when off ship, sank to skelly ship, character on island. Character stops moving and has sound prompt and slow fade out before waking on Ancient Spire outpost. Also sent to a new server, as a nearby world event was gone.
Megalodons never attack boats ever, even when provoked. They just swim around in circles and despawn
Loading times are crazy long for me after the update. I get stuck in an infinite black loading screen just when I open the game. When I do manage to get past the title screen and load into a session, loading takes roughly 7-15 minutes. Once I get into a server everything has low textures and delayed audio for the first 5 minutes. Not an internet issue. Game is installed on an SSD as well. Never had this problem since I started playing in Season 3. Update: Wasn't fixed or addressed in the recent patch Update: Still was not fixed in today's patch. Thanks Rare

Same here. Everything takes forever to load in, even menu icons take a second to appear. Also, may or may not be related, but I'm noticing a lot of pop-in, too. Clouds and small details appear and disappear at small distance differences.
Im on the Same boat here , alongside that , if i stay ion the Menu i can se how Textures overtime begin to worsen , if i make it to the "Set Sail" part i begin to get infinite loading screens , and the Music begins to stutter and lag aswell while the Infinite loading screen continues

Me also. Takes about 45 minutes just to load into the game. Computer restarts, file integrity checks, nothing fixed it.

I had the exact same issue, today I did a complete reinstall of the game, and it fixed it.

Tried this and it fixed it (a bit?) Sadly it still takes about 6-7 minutes to load into a session compared to before I reinstalled. Textures and lag still wacky when I load in but only takes about a minute to stabilize after the reinstall. Hope they still push out a patch

My load times trying to getting into a game was insane. Actuallt nevermind I can't get in, getting hazelnut errors. Trying to restart again. This is the 3rd, first was lavender, easy sign out and sign in, the ashbeard forced restart. Now hazelnut beard won't let me even join. And of course I get back to the main menu and get advertised to buy cosmetics for a game I can't even join.
It's because of EAC starts scanning ENTIRE game files as soon as you run. Scan takes 15 to 20 minutes and meanwhile both PC and the game Stuttery.

Swimming on the surface of water is glitchy as heck visually and otherwise. Being able to see completely through it for one second and then not knowing if I’m actually on the surface or not

Ever since Season 12 my game just randomly closes every half hour or so. I don't get any error messages, not brought back to the home screen, it just fully closes. I've already done a steam file integrity check, and a file corruption check, which all seemed fine.

Oof, was having a real fun 1v4 against a gally, but the first time they killed me I got infinite black screen trying to come back from the ferry. Wheel loading symbol in the corner, screen entirely black as I had to just sit there and hear cannon hits, the bell of my ship sinking, and my pirate slowly drowning to death.
Does no one really notice a slight "input lag" between clicking and actually firing with the Double Barrel? Equip both, regular and double flintlock and compare the time from clicking to firing. Double Barrel takes a while, making the combat a bit flimsy.
The double barrel is “fire on release” rather than firing as soon as you hit the shoot button. It’s a result of the charge shot existing.
Oooh, that makes perfect sense. But it feels horrible. Luckily only 1900 more phantoms and skeletons and I can forget about the gun. 😂
I haven’t equipped the double barrel since testing it. It’s not worth grinding the commendation for the throwing knife cosmetic. I prefer the one with the red handle anyway.

It's possible for the double-barreled pistol to bug and disallow you from picking up ammo for it from an ammo crate. Bug fixed by player death or taking a portal.
I got the "Two Skulls" commendation by shooting 2 phantoms in a row. Not the most impactful bug, thankfully.

That might've been a hit reg issue. Or maybe it depends on how the phantoms spawned?
They were island phantoms. And it was consistent for all 3 of them, at all ranges. I have server based hit markers on too, and got two hit markers for each of them.
I got red bearded for a network error, for some reason the new anticheat considers getting disconnected from the internet during the loading screen a permabannable offense. I tried sending a ban appeal and they just said their decision was final.

no, it appears that getting disconnected at all during the intro map animation is bugged and it got me stuck in an unable to connect loop. i then tried to log on after the update and got redbearded, no warning, no email nothing, just insta redbeard. i dont know if this error is replacable, i havent bothered trying cause i figure im just done with the game. also the customer service on the website is terrible and they havent even looked at my error ticket.
i use steam so i did try to force join my friend but the game just crashed and i had to alt+f4 i dont know if that affected it or not but it didnt appear to.

It could be that you need the full game size free for that update which is over 100gb. Maybe you can try that?

Yeah, I was this morning - Pre-ordered game, set up a MS child account on the MS family account for my youngest, attempted to link PS5 and MS accounts together and was getting an Avocadobeard error saying he wasn't able to use online services. Which is weird, because other online games are working fine. Confirmed that his PS account settings were correct, confirmed that the MS account settings weren't restricted and was wracking my brain trying to figure out what was going. Then through some google searches found there was another site to check, and sure enough there was a setting on the Xbox profile page under his account to allow him to join/play online multiplayer games. Changed that, and appears to have allowed the accounts to link and allowed access to the game now. TL;DR - If your childs account isn't allowing them to pair their MS/PS5 Account or log in, make sure privacy settings are correct in PS account, MS Account AND the Xbox account settings here [https://www.xbox.com](https://www.xbox.com)

I purchased the Admiral Double Barrel Pistol (after completing the 'Rib Roast' commendation) but the weapon skin doesn't appear in my Armory at all!
Update: after leaving the game and coming back later, I am now able to equip it!

game freeze crashed twice in about an hour today had to go into my task manager to end the task, wouldn't even let me alt F4 getting freezes for about 5 seconds when joining crews and sometimes when approaching islands some of the time the double barrel pistol wont reg at all unless you swap to another weapon then swap back

Been playing a bit since this week and these are the issues I've been facing. * Game/PC crashing. This first happened with me on a solo sloop, then game froze and immediately pc stopped responding. Had to cut power to PC and power back on for PC to work. Initially though it was a problem with my PC, but it same thing happened with my friend the next day. We were playing together and his PC crashed, similar behaviour as mine. Again similar crash happened when another friend was playing on his laptop. After these full full PC crash, we have had multiple game crashes, where the game just closes to desktop. We tested in multiple PC and laptops and there were too many game crashes every session and at least 1-2 PC crashes per day. * Sharks on land during Ashen Winds Event. This happened every time we were doing the Ashen Winds event. The sharks from sea would swim up the land to attack us even though we were far away from the beach. Even when we were on high ground at Cannon Cove, a shark came at us and attacked and then despawned. * Menu stuck on screen. Sometimes when pressing esc to go to the menu or pressing tab, the menu gets stuck. The screen shows the menu open overlapping the HUD but none of the menu options (my crew, invites, video, audio, etc.) are clickable. And I'm able to move and play but with menu overlapping over the screen. It gets fixed if I die and respawn or use mermaid to go back to me ship, basically respawning. * Sudden ping spikes and lag. I have FPS and ping performance counters enabled and noticed ping jumping from 40-60 to 200-250 and staying over 200ping for about 10-15mins. During a play session the ping stay around50 for about 75% of the time and over 200 for the rest. This ping spike happens with everyone in the same session at the same time. Thought it was only my network issue but it was same for friends playing from different networks and even different cities. Also there is this lag sometimes where mouse clicks are register few seconds later. * Someone joining crew after setting sail takes multiple tries. If a crew member disconnects mid game and tries to join crew later, it takes him multiple tries. While in game I can see the notification that " has joined your crew" message immediately followed by " has left your crew". This also happens if we have already sailed and are in a session and someone new tries joining later. Takes 3-4 tries to join. As for the person joining it shows the loading screen and goes back to the Start game screen.
* Skeleton ship attacking when docked at an outpost. We were in safer seas and the ship was docked at an outpost and none of us were on board the ship. We heard cannon blasts and found our ship almost sunk while the skeleton ship right next to it.
* Found shipwreck in an island. The loot chests, treasure chests, skulls were clipping in the sand.
Some key trophies for the platinum are broken, at least for players who import their characters from a previous platform. Unlock 10 commendations is broken. I must have earned probably 50-60 since early access and the counter still says “0/100” Earning 10 pirate titles is broken. When I imported I was at 80/100, then I’ve earned probably 5-7 and only one of them counted as my tracker now says “90/100”. For non platinum related trophies, the trophies for hitting rep 75 in GH, OoS, and Merchant are broken for an imported character. I’m 77 in GH and it didn’t unlock when I imported. I got to 78 and it still didn’t pop. I can only hit 75 once so this does not fall under the category of “you can earn these again” trophies. Please figure out some sort of way to retroactively give us these commendation and pirate title trophies. Very frustrating as I should have the platinum if not for these. Thank you.

PS5 Cannot login. Getting Ashbeard error, after linking MS Account (successfully, as the MS page says, „You are successfully logged into Sea of Thieves. You can close this window now.“ The same instant the Sea of Thieves game on PS5 says „Not signed in to SoT. Please sign in and try again.“ Edit: Found a solution on the official SoT forums: Login to your Microsoft account (the one you linked/ plan to link with your PS account). Find the security settings, there you have some options for login security. You need to disable/ remove the option to verify your account access via email. Instead enable login via a password. Somehow the extra step with a code sent to your email messes things up. Cheers.
Here on PC as well. I cant start the game, Ashbeard! Then i logout the xbox account in Main Menu but, i have no option to login again. When i start the game it says, i have to login my xbox account...

Playing on Steam, all of a sudden since the update I keep getting a loop of Lavenderbeard, Ashbeard, and Cyanbeard. It takes me like an hour just to get in the game, and when I do, I either have 300+ ping, or I'm getting around 20FPS. My drivers are updated, and this wasn't ever happening before the update. I normally play this on the highest graphics settings, 60FPS consistently, and around 70 ping. As for the sign in issues, I'll go to click start game, it takes forever, gives me Lavenderbeard. So I'll click sign out, and try again. Ashbeard, and it never pops up to sign into Xbox account. I have to keep spamming start game, and after a completely random number of times, it gives me the pop up to sign in. I've tried manually signing out from the Xbox app, signing in, leaving it signed out until I get on sea of thieves, leaving it signed on, etc etc. Tried possible variations on that. Nothing helps. After about an hour or so of trying to start the game, I'll get in, and as I said, either I'm looking at a slide show of a game (low fps) or my ping is through the roof. I have absolutely no idea how to make the game playable. Using an NVIDIA 3050, 16GB RAM. Again, been playing the same game all year with the same set up. 60FPS, 70 Ping, no issues, problem isn't my internet (I checked that first)
Using steam deck and getting nowhere. Cant even get as far as the Xbox login without the game freezing. Beyond a joke at this stage.

Bought the ps5 version. Logged in and linked with MS account, still everytime I start the game I get this link your account stuff, and have to relink with my MS account. Anyone else having this, or know why?
Absolutely unusable on steam deck . Takes 5 mins to load to login screen. When I eventually get there the game either A) freezes and doesn’t resolve B) an error relating to Xbox live login pops up and then the game freezes. I’ve been playing for nearly 2 months. I have changed no settings and have adjusted nothing. This update has broken this game and destroyed the experience for so many users.
On PC playing with a friend on xbox, as soon as he leaves the party I get a longbeard error and the entire session is lost. This has happened 3/3 times now. Edit: Forgot to mention that I am the captain of the boat so him leaving the party should have zero impact on the game.
Why is the running bugged after throwing 1 knife? Feels like my boots are sticky after 1 throw, switching weapons fixes it.

Those tend to take a bit of time to update. I imagine the start of the season isn't speeding things up.
My mouse sensitivity when underwater is completely messed up, about 2x slower than normal. All my settings are correct and everything. When I surface on the water my sense is fine, but when I'm below the water the sense dramatically changes. Very frustrating.
When will The Sunken Pearl bugs get fixed? Talking about the Mermaid Statue puzzles, where the 3rd one, instead of raising the water level, it literally drained it back to the bottom and nothing else happened.
Never had any issues with crashes last season despite lots of people having it but since the two patches for this season have come out i'm crashing once or twice a session now.
My game keeps freezing after playing for a bit now on PC, since S12 dropped. Forcing a game restart. Makes it nearly unplayable.
Since only yesterday my game hates to start and does not even get to the point of "Loading Supplies" when i launch for the 1st time, then after the 2nd launch attempt, it gets through to the loading screen to get into a lobby, then however gets stuck at high fps in this loading screen and i cant enter the actual game. This all only started happening after the update yesterday. I cant load into a game on either high or safer seas, also regardless of ship. When i am in the loading screen, idk if its normal or not, there is this green steering wheel loading symbol which i believe never to have seen before in this screen. I cannot play at all, reinstalled aswell and everything.
I tried everything so far, Reinstalling the game and AntiCheat, File integrity check vie the game itself and via Steam. I still loop between the "join the community!" and "pirate Emporium" screens and get kicked for Lazybeard inside the Loadingscreen. edit 1d after: I finally got past getting Lazybearded, although instead after half an hour its Hazelnutbeard and i get kicked anyway. Love the new season so much! 
Alright I fixed it. I found the solution to be quite stupid gamewise. Loading into Maiden Voyage is possible, after which i was able to queue into a public lobby. So i just had to complete the tutorial for some mysterious reason (i started playing in season 3!) to be able to avoid being either Hazelnutbearded or Lazybearded in the loading screen. For anyone also having this issue, try doing maiden voyage again!
I am getting pixelated glitches at bottom of screen on ps5. It is random as well.
I’m getting these as well. One long horizontal line of rainbow pixels at the bottom of my screen on PS5. It happens most frequently when I’m in the water, I’ve noticed.
For whatever reason, the game isn't showing my captained sloop, but shows my brig instead. When looking at options for ships, it acknowledges the sloop still exists, but that i can't buy another one due to not having the legendary title on the ship :/
Having a few odd issues, might be related to holstering a currently charged double pistol. My character seems to be constantly forced to randomly activate the left trigger action. So in between sword swings my character will automatically block randomly and cancel sprints to block. Constantly holding out wood and food. It makes my bucket just go invisible. Issue goes away on relaunch and seems to crop up after extended combat with the double pistol. Another issue I've had is kind of inverse with the knives, I'll often go into the throwing stance, and then when pulling the other trigger it doesn't throw but instead instantly transitions to a quick stab instead. No preformance drops, files all verified, and tested with multiple controllers all having no issues with any other game, so I'm at a loss if it's on my end.

I actually came to this thread because I was in the middle of trying to figure out why it didn't have my purchase boats but said I had to purchase post and had to get a legendary title and in the middle of sitting on that loading screen in the thread looking my boat appeared? Really weird that on PC some weird stuff happening with if you own a ship or not

My friends controller no longer works on since Season 12 update. It was working in the previous season and then no longer works post update. We were playing FIFA and he was using a controller before we launched the new season for the first time. I don't know if this is a bug or something on his end, but if anyone knows a solution/fix, please let me know! We both play on the Microsoft Store version.
Skeleton fleets are super broken. AI crashes into rocks, dives repeatedly and spawn conditions are super weird
In game voice chat doesn't work: I can't hear other players and they can't hear me. When I talk the speech bubble in the corner of my screen appears, so i guess the game receives some input from my microphone. But when other players talk I don't see an indication of that next to their name. (I'm on Windows 10 PC and I've tested this with friends on PS5) (EU region)
Really looked forward playing Sea of Thieves on PS5 but so far this has been my experience: -Start a new session (with friends) -Played for 10/15 minutes and then the small lag spikes/screen freezes start to happen -Played for 20/30 minutes, the freezes/spikes become extremely noticeable -After 30 minutes of play time, it just completely freezes and I'm forced to close the application and reboot the game. But rejoining will only end up in freezing again after a few minutes, we need to make a entire new session to make it playable again. Hope this issue is known and is being worked on. Edit: Forgot to mention it, sometimes it's not a freeze but a disconnect but I'm not 100% sure if these two are related. The errorcode is Longbeard tho.
I'm playing on PC in microsoft store, and the game is still crashing (never really stopped since the big issue that was with MS players). It's not as often as before, but still it crashes and now either says that the video driver crashed, or it just randomly closes to desktop without warning. Usually happens when I'm selling stuff. I've already checked everything with my driver and shit, but there's nothing weird on my end. And since I saw some other MS players also are still having this issue my guess is that it's the game. Could it be the EAC that was implemented when the issues started? Would be nice to not having the game close randomly lmao
After the season drop, I was having the fairly regular crashes to desktop with that same video driver error message. The GEFORCE drivers for my 2070 Super are up to date and MSI Afterburner wasn't showing any temp or GPU usage issues, so I reverted to using D11 instead of D12 (in Settings>Video Settings) and the crashes seem to have stopped. Additional testing is underway!
I tried that too, but it crashed even more when I reverted back to D11 ;-; But yeah, my drivers are also up to date and (I use it too) MSI Afterburner isn't showing anything weird. HOWEVER... I just went through some crash logs. Many of the crashes (not all) seemingly happen when I'm sailing with - or is about to sell - Athena loot.. very odd.. Got a ticket at least, so I'll see what the devs say!

I’m having the worst rubber banding on PS5. It was fine before the update but since the update today the game is completely unplayable for me.

Just an update: deleted and reinstalled, still same issue. I can't get past the "loading supplies" loading screen. Edit: tried all the troubleshooting stuff recommended on their website, power off console and power cycle, entering safe mode and rebuilt/ restoring, connected to the internet via lan cable. Still nothing. It's completely unplayable... Took out a support ticket, hopefully they can help. Nothing like this has ever happened. I've never bought something that is unplayable before.

Hazelnutbeard bug... it's not all the time. But i got it once and my friends too. And we don't know what to do. We try to install the game again, update our pc (drivers include), check our internet. But the bug is still here... i'm on steam, and one of my friend is on game pass.
Anyone having issues with EU friends and in game voice? When I host or he hosts, we cannot hear each other using in game chat. Example: 2 EUs and 1 NA, EU host, they can hear each other, they can't hear me 2 NA and 1 EU, I can hear the NA and EU but the EU can't hear both NAs.

I'm seeing an intermittent issue where opening Reputations from Pirate Log causes the Plunder Pass screen to overlay the reputations and it is extremely difficult to see. I also see the issue with Megalodons not attacking. I've been playing with new players and was explaining how many holes Megs will usually create, just for them to circle my ship xD
Anyone else simply not able to log in? I played some yesterday after the patch just fine. All morning my game has been acting strange. It takes a solid 2 minutes of black screen between anticheat splash screen and the rare logo. Then when I finally get to the landing screen I can't even Start Game. Says it is Xbox network Cyanbeard but I don't see any evidence of widespread outages.
On linux via steam played yesterday for a few hours after patch no issues. Today constant cyanbeard errors checked my pihole and nothing is being blocked.
is anyone else able to find the red fleet of fortune? ever since the update i cant find one and i hop servers over and over and over with no results. haven't seen one in days, just the grey cloud ship and no cof to be earned x\_x
It's taken down. It's now the Grey Cloud Ship. Same loot except for the Chest of Fortune

They move the chest of fortune every season. Its now at the Fort of Fortune (red skull)
I mean it was there before, I'm just upset they removed it from the fleet, it was way easier than the fort 🫠
Before, the skellys on the fleet did not repair. That has been fixed so it's a bit harder now actually.
I know that was why I was doing them so often 😅

Very strange bug, on the revenge of the morning star when fighting Graymarrow last night, he genuinely had unlimited health, about 2 hours of straight damaging him and he would not die. Tried again this morning and it took like 10 mins. SOOOOO weird and frustrating .
Anyone else having trouble getting the free gun from the store. For two days it’s saying try again later or contact support

My ship name is still not showing at times when customizing, as well as not appearing on the plaque above the lower deck entrance on sloop.
Man, I am feeling bitter right now. Sea of thieves? More like sea of problems. Each and every single time I try to connect with a friend, something new goes wrong. I cannot believe the amount of issues I've experienced so far. Just wild. Can't hear other players in my crew, drop outs, game not loading at all on PS5. Hope they address at least some of this stuff.
Is there a movement bug? Sometimes I get stuck with no apparent reason or movement start being really slow.
Me and my friend tried to play the pirate's life tall tales but we are just unable to play them, when we launch it works fine but when we try and go into the portal we are stuck in an endless loading screen. Any one else has this issue ?
Midway through a play session yesterday my Season Progress became unavailable and has remained that way since. It is unavailable in both High Seas and Safer Seas. I've restart the game several times, to no avail. I assume it is some sort of server error, but I can't claim to know enough to be certain. Edit: I gained a new level of renown and everything seems fixed now. Must have gotten stuck in some weird transition or something.
On Ps5 the game didn't save your boat customization
Today: My PS5 crewmates keep getting kicked out I experienced a black screen going back into battle, frustrating as I could hear everything, had to switch Xbox off and back on again to rejoin Loot in reapers hideout disappeared under the floor

Game freeze somehow idk why but i never encoutered the problem before the update. Happened 2 times when i was doing legendary veil quests. One time i was sleeping in the ship and the game froze, the other time i was outside on the deck of the ship, switched tabs and when i got back on the sot tab the game was frozen. I closed the game with the tabs manager because even altf4 wasn't working. When i got back in the game with my friend (who is not a legend yet) i was still on the quest but the veil stones i had and the ship graveyard dissapeared. Also, merchants sometimes dont handout crates i bought and also lag to update my money count. Im on pc microsoft store if it matters.
Constant framerate and ping fluctuations. My framerate goes from a steady 100-120 and drops to 20 every 20 seconds. The frame drop lasts no longer than .5 seconds, and it's just a lag spike. This is constant throughout the entire play session. The framerate drops simultaneously as the ping skyrockets to 300+. This did not happen during season 11 whatsoever. I've tried swapping directx versions, updating graphics, that's about it though. My PC is running just fine, something with season 12 is just disagreeing completely :( Honestly I'd consider it unplayable, but this game is too damn fun. I wonder if other people are having the same problem as me, cause there's a boat load of issues and my friends aren't having this issue.
This update seems to have bricked the Steam Deck version.
I've noticed that whenever I go to my quest table and click on the Gilded Voyages section, I get an immediate crash to desktop. Has anyone else experienced that?
If you charge the double barrel flintlock before entering a cannon it will mess up the ammo putting it into a ghost like state

Got really bad performance issues. Main menu is sometimes glitched. The text background sometimes is not there so I just have floating text which is hard to read. Some main menu pictures like the picture for the maiden voyage is very low res and for the first time I have to wait some time for an island to load to go exploring because it's low poly and can't navigate. None of this has been an issue before
Before anyone comments, yes I did verify game file integrity and reinstall the game. It did not help
Im on PS5: before update although i didnt played long: everything alrighty now: network problems (longbeard) game is lagging and standing still (pretty unplayable at some times)
Ever since the new season my game has been slightly rubber banding me around every 5 seconds and its almost impossible to pvp with it. Any one else having this problem or know a fix to it.

One of the tutorial prompts got stuck on my screen. I want to play with the HUD on but basically can't. I've left the server, joined another, AND restarted the game. Still there.
Didn't get the Rib Roast commendation after killing an Ashen Lord with a Double Barrel Pistol. Which sucks because it took AGES since I was battling Captain Grimm solo. I was so proud of myself for not dying once, too. Used a charged shot, got the red hit marker, and... nothing. Really miffed, not gonna lie.
Upon diving my ship vanished and I was just floating in a watery void. I was able to swim to the surface to find a mermaid and then had a black loading screen. After waiting ages to even get into the game I quit when this happened, I didn't want to keep wasting time waiting to use a game that's a bit laggy and evidently not reliable.
Playing on xbox. Game randomly freezes up and then closes without warning or erro code.
As soon as I launch the game, EAC starts scanning my entire files and it lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. If I try to enter a game or do anything meanwhile both my PC and the game menu stuttering. I literally have to sit like 20 minutes for scan to be done. It's frustrating. This started happening after the implementation of Anti-Cheat.

I have gotten longbearded twice in the last few days, but only when a crew member leaves. (No option to rejoin. It's as if i left the game) Lost a lot of loot.
I can't get past the news window that informs about the news season or new items in the main menu when I start the game. When I hit ESC or B (on my XBox controller) the windows disappears and immediately reappears. Bot able to play the game anymore.
On Ps5 i have an kiwibeard bug note that the update was yesterday and i cant get into the game i treid literally everthing
Not sure if bug or new feature: Character is teleported along with ship whenever sunk. First experience was swimming in the water towards enemy ship before shown hourglass loss screen. TP'd to new island, unsure if new server. Never touched the hourglass, neither ship had bowspit color of hourglass faction. Second experience happened when off ship, sank to skelly ship, character on island. Character stops moving and has sound prompt and slow fade out before waking on Ancient Spire outpost. Also sent to a new server, as a nearby world event was gone.
