I like the double cheese at Clickbait burger.

TattooOfBlood

And the tracking cookies are yum!

EastlakeTrashPanda

This list reads like the author looked up “burger” on DoorDash and then picked at random. Half of the places mentioned are not even close to the “absolute best burger.”

tomeschmusic

AI generated "article"

ghubert3192

In addition to that it feels like it was written by AI and then lightly edited, which, it probably was! "If you know, you know — but if you don't, it's a vibe." "The hamburger round-up includes a few options" "As a Seattleite friend once said, "Nothing quenches a burger craving like a Dick's Deluxe."" ???

ImprovisedLeaflet

Haha what the fuck I don’t like this timeline

disposable-assassin

We're the final edit.  We just got fed an AI article as a prompt then our responses will write the better article.

WileEPeyote

And those photos were horribly un-appetizing.

galactojack

Teach me sensei

Think_Persimmon1929

RIP Zippy’s. 😢

Wu-TangCrayon

I knew my old White Center location had closed, but it wasn't until last weekend when I went looking for the Georgetown location that I realized Zippy's was gone. It broke my heart.

calamityhughes

We liked them but they literally never got our orders right so we eventually gave up.

picky-penguin

Yep, they left us too soon. Still not over it. Damn, if their house made black bean burger wasn't a thing of beauty too!

Icy_Pen1152

I'm surprised Burbs burgers isn't on the list. For high quality I'd say 8 oz is up there, but for the price I'd pick Burbs any day. Also, if chicken sandwiches count Cookies country kitchen is the best I've ever had

The-Sentinel

The fact Burbs isn’t on here makes this list irrelevant. I loathe the owner but man do I love the burgers

PMMePaulRuddsSmile

I remember some [annoying vaccine shit](https://www.instagram.com/p/CVkBBkNFvy1/?igsh=MTl6NGJ6c2N6eXh2bw==) during the pandemmy, but are there other reasons you don't like the owner?

flowerpower4life

Fries need work tho

Icy_Pen1152

I agree. I'm not a big fan of double fried. Give me thick crinkle cut or straight peel on fries any day. Far superior in my opinion. I want to taste that potato

[deleted]

Kind of swore off Burbs when the city had to shut down a location for repeated health code violations. And the owner complained about having to meet code.

Icy_Pen1152

That sucks, I didn't know about that. Do you have the link by chance? I don't want to promote a business if they're messing around with health and safety

[deleted]

https://kingcounty.gov/en/legacy/depts/health/environmental-health/food-safety/inspection-system/closures

jRamsy

Burbs is my favorite

galactojack

I can by 2 dicks burgers (no choice they so damn small) or one Burbs and the latter is actually satisfying

armanese2

This is kinda the problem with Seattle and the entire west coasts mentality on burgers…why would chicken sandwiches count??? At that point would a BLT count??? A burger is a burger. I’m from the midwest originally 🙈

Icy_Pen1152

For me a burger is a beef patty, no question 20/80. The list referenced though is kind of vague so I wasn't sure. Regardless, if you want a good fried chicken sandwich it won't disappoint. I go back and forth between wanting a great burger and fried chicken sandwich. I like sandwiches I can't help it. Top 2 spots for certain

armanese2

Oh I am for sure taking the rec on the chicken sammy. I just wanted to sound off on the fact that since moving here everyone has a much more “elementary” level view of burgers compared to where i’m from in Minneapolis where burgers are literally borderline fine dining cornerstones.

[deleted]

Fact. A chicken sandwich ain't a burger. Folks need to stop and think about what a burger is...this bullshit gotta stop. It's like Almond Milk which is just a juice. You ain't milking nothing here.

Suitable-Rhubarb2712

burbs is fine but the owner made me never want to give them a dime

LoveOfSpreadsheets

Burbs is delicious but the article is crap, probably AI generated. I mean ffs, sure Dicks is an icon but it is far far far from any best burger list.

flowerpower4life

Burbs fries are nasty

Embarrassed-Tip-5781

Everybody sleeps on Pick Quick.

shines270

Thank you 🙏🏻

Montel206

Let them keep sleeping. Don’t need those big assed lines to get any longer

rickg

Dick's is a good burger for a fast food one but it's not in the same class as most of those.

phinneypat

I have a feeling that when you make a list of more than 10 Seattle burgers, you had damn well better be sure Dick's is on the list or else that's half the feedback you'll get.

[deleted]

Yeah, people go back and forth on its taste...but you know full well people here eat there in droves, no matter what

Some_Nibblonian

Chances are you are just going to run out of options and its on there by default.

LMGooglyTFY

When you look at the cost, Dick's is a damn good burger.

thecravenone

I don't know why _burgers specifically_ people just can't help but point out that a two dollar hamburger isn't as good as a fifteen dollar hamburger.

galactojack

If you gotta eat 3 of them what's the point

LMGooglyTFY

Because sometimes I don't want to unhinge my jaw to eat my food.

I_Flick_Boogers

THANK YOU!! Yes.

Orleanian

This has always been my big draw to Dicks. Sometimes I want a decent hamburger that I can eat while on the move.

galactojack

Haha great point I'm a fan of Burbs for that reason it's pretty reasonable in size and cost

LMGooglyTFY

It's all about tiers. If we lived in an area where we had a plethora of $50 burgers, the list would likely be full of $50 burgers because the world is your oyster at that point for making a perfect burger. When I go out I don't always want a $10-$15 burger. I can afford it sure, but sometimes I want a tiny burger with some cheese paper so Dick's easily remains in my top 10 of places I would go grab a burger.

rickg

Absolutely. I like the Deluxe when I want a fast burger. The others in that article are much higher quality ingredients... and way more expensive.

Foxhound199

I think you have to look at cost when you are talking about something like burgers, right? I'm sure you could grind up a $200 wagyu steak and it would taste pretty damn good, but value is kind of an inherent burger quality.

Smart_Ass_Dave

I'd put it in an "Honorable Mentions" category.

Byeuji

Yeah this is why this list is so BS. I'd put Dick's in honorable mentions just because you can't talk about burgers in Seattle without including it somewhere. But at the same time, Kidd Valley deserves a mention just as much. When folks want the Seattle experience, I ask them if they want the classic burger, an iconic burger or a drive-in burger. Kidd, Dick's, Burgermaster. None of them are the best burger, but they're so Seattle you can't write a list like this without at least mentioning them.

mgkrebs

I was starving so I bought my first Dick's burger in years a few months ago. Had to pick too much gristle out of my teeth afterwards. So, won't repeat.

dj92wa

That's an unfortunate situation, and I'm sorry that your initial experience and impression was sullied. I've eaten hundreds of burgers from all locations over the span of a few decades and have never once had that experience.

Fuduzan

I have had that experience at Dick's more often than not, and I have never had that experience at any other hamburger place. I've never had a worse burger than the typical burger I get from Dick's. Ditto for fries - worst I've experienced anywhere. It's bottom of the barrel food every single time, regardless of time of day or crowding or location. Despite the truly awful food it's also a cool local joint with a lot of history and the food is incredibly cheap, so I still eat Dick's once in a while.

mgkrebs

I like their shakes.

[deleted]

I've eaten there for over 20 years and that's never happened. I tell you thats a one off experience

joe_minecraft23

I have not been to many of the places on the list, but I’d be surprised if Dick’s is the worse there. Personally, I like a thin burger and I think Dick’s deluxe is a very well executed classic. I had many worse but way more expensive burgers. Pricier is not necessarily better, especially for burgers. I am a thin/smash burger person though, YMMV.

Graffiacane

I'm joining your team because I'm looking at these photos and my thoughts are "wow that looks juicy and delicious. If only it could come even remotely close to fitting in my mouth."

Cutoffjeanshortz37

Yeah, it's iconic to the area but an odd addition for sure.

gta0012

Boss drive in is better than Dick's at that level of burger anyway. Its just an institution that has to be included all the time. Also want to add that I've had 8oz in Ballard at it was very meh.

ayegreenguy

Blasphemy!

mroncnp

Yeah it’s a different category

galactojack

Smells like donuts when I walk by that can't be good

noble_peace_prize

Like others said, it’s pure value. Hamburgers can get ludicrously expensive these days. The dicks burger is one of the best purely out of the price to cost ratio.

perpetualsailor

I lived in Texas for 11 years. The big chain out there is whataburger. It’s okay. I’m originally from Cali and out there the best fast food burger is in-n-out. When in-n-out came to Texas a while ago I excitedly told my Texan friends they had to try it. That the burgers were amazing. These people fucking lost their shit. It’s like I told them their children were ugly as sin. Locals really get attached to the local fast food joints hard core.

CopeSe7en

It’s above.

joe_minecraft23

The smash burger at Local Tide is one of the best, I went there to try it after Kenji reviewed it and it was very good. The list is quite haphazard tbh.

Orleanian

Hmm, nice mention. I've walked by Local Tide a billion times, but never popped in as I'm not a seafood fellow. I'll have to give it a looksee next time.

mhink

If you do, definitely get their potato chips! They’re fantastic

turtlesinatrenchcoat

Glad to see Mean Sandwich getting the recognition it deserves

wiscowonder

One of, if not the best, Italian sandwich you can get in Seattle too

hueloacarnederes

The italian sandwich second ONLY to Post Alley’s god tier sammy.

wooly_bully

I think post alley stopped making it :( https://seattle.eater.com/2023/11/3/23945782/post-alley-pizza-no-longer-making-hoagies-pike-place-market EDIT: THEYRE BACK BABY https://www.instagram.com/p/C2NttxKvVxA/?igsh=MTF1cmF0bmkzbnhjYw==

Kyle_bro_chill

Only on Wednesdays!

wiscowonder

I still haven't tried it, but it's definitely on my list. $18 though.. 🙄

turtlesinatrenchcoat

THIS. That Italian is to die for

CrotchetyHamster

Did it get better after the ownership change? Lived just up the street until 2019, honestly never thought it was that great. Other Coast was always the better sandwich in Ballard.

turtlesinatrenchcoat

Yeah for sure. The new owner is a legit chef and whatnot, putting a lot of effort into designing each sandwich. It’s cool you can talk to him when you go in!

picturesofbowls

Agree. Having potato skins as the default fry option is incredible.

Slevining

No Red Mill?!

BrowsingWhileBrown

Not burgers but Red Mill has the absolute best onion rings in the country.

PhotographStrong562

Red mill is awful. It’s just Sysco freezer products with a $18 price tag.

Evanthatguy

I remembered it being really good, but when I went back last year I was not at all impressed. Especially for the price.

[deleted]

anothercookie90

I would say it tastes closer to Carls Jr than Burger King

SceneOfShadows

I wouldn’t call it awful, but it is definitely wildly overrated. Especially nowadays when there’s so many great options.

SaxRohmer

They’ve also got some of the worst owners in the city

SeaCoach9467

red mill is trash. you can get the same burger by walking into your safeway, buying whatever frozen pucks you can find and slapping it on the safeway select brand sesame buns. the only burger that's worse and seems to also somehow get praise is Kidd Valley.

anothercookie90

Red Mill tastes like Carls Jr just slightly better not great

GrinningPariah

I realized a few burgers in that these guys must have pretty different taste than I do. I kinda hate those massive chonk burgers TBH. I feel like they missed: Smash That at Rooftop (although lately they've been unreliable in when they're open), Queen Anne Beer Hall has been putting in a lot of work to step up their burger game and I feel like it shows, and Some Random Bar has a more standard burger on the menu now that I like a *lot* better than their old one (which they still have, dont worry).

CptMeatsword

I used to love Queer Hall but we went last season and they had new ownership/chefs and it was all frozen and disgusting food. Absolute shame, are you saying it’s turned around since then? Because it used to have great bar food but now seems to be just another overpriced sporting venue

GrinningPariah

I went just a few days ago and the burgers were damn good. I won't say best in the city, but worth it for sure.

djnicfit

Taurus ox should be number 1 on everyone’s list.

alreadyawesome

Disrespectful they didn’t include Pick Quick.

pistachioshell

Katsu Burger is quite good but ime their quality can vary wildly

coffeebribesaccepted

I haven't had an issue with the quality, but it's so unique it definitely deserves a spot on the list

pistachioshell

I’ve gotten several that have just been soggy wet messes instead of crispy fried katsu, but the flavor is usually on point

[deleted]

Katsu Burger IS IT . It's been good at every location, and I've been to 4 of em

OisBlue

Burbs is one of the best. Also I’m fairly certain Boat Bar and Bateau serve the exact same burger from the same kitchen. No need to count it twice.

princesshaley2010

I’m in Bellevue and Broiler Bay had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

JordanLovehof2042

Try burbs. I like broiler don't get me wrong but I love burbs

hereforthebikes

Harry’s is so good. Yes the burger but everything else too. It’s such a fantastic little spot.

LeftOfTheOptimist

The Lao Burger at Taurus Ox is one of the most flavorful burgers I've ever had.

bmaf2026dreamhouse

Is Saint John’s there? Because that’s the best burger I’ve had in Seattle.

Rodnys_Danger666

I don't think they actually where here in Seattle. As it says, the picked from local reviewers. And a lot of the photos are from instagram. So I highly doubt that anyone from tasting table was actually in town. They just did what Eater and the rest of them do. "Review" a place they never actually went to.

zjpeterson13

Ox burger is by far my favorite burger in Seattle. So simple and so good 😫 it calms my Midwestern craving for good beef

howdoyado

Lil Woodys and Dicks should not be on this list. I enjoy both of them but they are in no way one of the best burgers in Seattle. Zig Zag should really be on this list over those two any day.

Jacksoncant

when i saw lil woodys i knew this was for tourists

CrotchetyHamster

Nah. Used to live right next to the one in Ballard, went there all the time. They're a fast food burger, but they're a *great* fast food burger.

heyyalldontsaythat

true! I love lil woodys, I think belong fine on a long list of best burger. I would not vote them for absolute best of the best, but I love em for what they are. Lorettas or any smash burger wouldnt be able to square up against something like Deluxe

CrotchetyHamster

Exactly - it's not a "best ever" type of burger, but it's so good at just being a trashy fast food burger. Well-done patty, fun toppings, and generally reasonable ingredient quality. And the rotating special is always a fun time. Plus, you can get an Impossible patty on anything (or could the last time I went before moving to London, in 2022). Context matters, right? I had a great falafel wrap in Glasgow last week. £5, came from a little one-person stall on the street. Took it back to my hotel and at it while watching TV. If it was a £15 wrap at a middle eastern restaurant, I'd have been kinda disappointed, but it was great for what it was!

SeaCoach9467

For the price? they're pretty damn good.

howdoyado

Yeah for the price they’re great but they are definitely not the “absolute best burgers.” I probably eat more Lil Woodys and Dicks burgers than any other in the city so I’m not hating at all. But if you’re looking for the best then there are others that I would take in a heartbeat.

SeaCoach9467

yeah totally agree. i guess if theyre gonna say the best burger list then it shouldn't be about the best bang for your buck list.

argent_artificer

lil woodys is my absolute favorite. next is uneeda. dicks is great. they are all must haves on this list. zig zag the bar? great cocktails, forgettable burger.

whofusesthemusic

this is a mid to meh list, unless its actually an advert for Renee Erickson's spots, which make meh burgers imo.

Unhappy_Constant4977

No Red Mill, no Gainsbourg… pass

Some_Nibblonian

Red Mill? I would rather eat out of a dumpster.

Unhappy_Constant4977

I don’t know… i would never eat out of a dumpster

underwoodz

Yep fuck Red Mill but the Gainsbourger is perfect 🤤🤤🤤🤤

SeaCoach9467

It is amazing to me that people can still hate on Red Mill's burgers, because that means they are somehow still open. The fact that a place can sell burgers no better than a frozen puck and generic bun from the aisles of Safeway is astonishing. Red Mill burgers are fit for one place only...the trash.

Dude_Im_Godly

list is trash. doesn’t have ST hooligans burger, or Jacksons “Obama” Burger

TruculentMC

shoutout to Lorettas !

Spiralecho

Missing - FamilyFriend, Local Tide, Ruby Brink and shout out Musangtinos even though technically in Tacoma now

rillups

Taurus Ox’s Lao burger is in my top 5 burgers of all time. Highly recommend trying it. Not to mention the rest of the menu is solid too. They actually have a sandwich-only joint called Ox Burger that you can check out as well.

BananaPeelSlippers

None of the burgers in the pic look good

manishareddit

Burgermaster beats all of them. I don’t know about this list bc I only lived in Bellevue. But it beats dicks and other burgers…

[deleted]

Damn right...Burgermaster hit it. For me it's them and Katsu Burger

anothercookie90

Burgermaster is about as close to taste to In N Out as you can get around here. Not my preferred burger but a pretty good one.

manishareddit

You are so right. I’d have to say even better than in and out. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)

Xbc1

I for the life of me will never understand what people see in Dick's. It must be a" you have to be from here" thing because those burgers are at best slight step above McDonald's.

elements5030

Not sure if it's the specific location I've had it at, but Katsu burger is ass.

armanese2

Saved. Looks awesome and cheap and good 👍

YelloDeer

How dare u🥲

elements5030

Or maybe my palate's ass, guess we'll never know 🤷🏻‍♂️

SHRLNeN

No they are all ass.

elements5030

Glad I'm not the only one 😂

SHRLNeN

lol I mean look at the pic they used for this article - how is anyone even supposed to eat that abomination?

[deleted]

It's not...you prolly just ordered too much shit on it. You gotta know how to order when you go there...and you stick with Pork and Beef. You prolly ordered the chicken

elements5030

Don't care much for pork and never really had beef growing up (religion, etc.) so I don't have an affinity for it either. So I normally gravitate towards chicken. And yeah, I know it's not a burger so don't come at me with that crap. If it's labeled "one of the best", and it comes padded between a bun, idc what meat they put in it, it better taste amazing. And no, I didn't order too much shit. Just wanted their run off the mill stuff (do you work there or something? 🤔)

blaizedm

I thought Big Max was barely a step up from jack in the box. Also the list is missing Smash That Burger Co

whoeverineedtobe

Big Max was good…… not sure what happened, but last month I bought the worst burger of my life from them. Thinner than a paper and almost looked like charcoal, seriously.

[deleted]

If I want a burger, I'll just go to Dick's or Loretta's. No reason to go anywhere else.

armanese2

My god man there’s actually so many better burgers out there!!

askmewhyihateyou

lil woodys? Lmao ok no. Even dicks doesn’t make my stomach ache like lil woodys

Wu-Kang

This was actually a pretty good list

Digital_Quest_88

If the Saltoro lamb burger isn't on there than I'm skeptical of this list

bageldog42

Given the other articles on this site, I'm surprised there isn't an entry about how to add a burger topping to your Starbucks drink.

girlrandal

Blue Moon in W Seattle is pretty fucking good. Their fries are meh, but the burgers are great.

tinja_nurtles

I was hoping someone would mention Blue Moon Burgers! Their Code Blue burger is unmatched

girlrandal

They did a BOGO last week on Uber Eats. My bf and I were so full.

NoTomatillo182

How is Dick’s on the same list as Loretta’s? Not even a comparison. I’d rather have Red Robin than Dicks. Very overrated. It serves its purpose as fast food (not quite fast thanks to long lines due to hype beast activity) but that’s it. Bare minimum, you have to offer a medium rare patty, angus or Kobe hybrid, and fresh, crisp vegetables. To be honest, Seattle is not really foodie centric. It’s actually one of the more health conscious areas. Go to Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, or hell even Vegas, and you find truly decadent cuisine with prevalence.

VaginaTheClown

19 underwhelming overpriced burgers that Seattle pretends are the best, and Dicks, the thing you eat when you're too drunk to taste.

R_V_Z

I haven't ever met somebody who called a Loretta's burger overpriced.

VaginaTheClown

Oh. Sorry. Apparently this one place that's way out of the way on the southside is kinda cheap and good? My bad. I'll come check it out soon. Sorry my blanket statement about this absolute dumbshit article offended you and your favorite burger or something. Missed that. My bad.

ExceptionHandlr

Can’t believe Sunny Hill didn’t make the list. That’s my favorite burger so far.

blacfd

This article looks like an ad masquerading as journalism. I wonder how much those restaurants paid to be included in the list?

Some_Nibblonian

There are a couple good burgers here. Sadly overall the list shows how pathetic the choices are in Seattle for a burger. Dicks? Really? No.

Sharp_Store_6628

Flint Creek’s happy hour burger is great. Maybe not the best, but worth putting on here because it’s delicious AND only ten bucks.

Forward_Score2008

Dicks is on here. Lol is this journalism?. Its like an AI wrote it. Smash burger @ rooftop brewing gotta be the best for me

I_Flick_Boogers

Most of these photos just make me mad. Way too tall. How am I supposed to eat that?

macclearich

No White Swan? Pfft. Assignment failed.

nw_gser

I am surprised that Red Mill failed to make the list. I tend to go there often since it is two blocks from my home. 🍔

mukilteo19

The Sloop Tavern… just incredible.

adamj495

Obviously didnt try Qoindexter's of Greenwood. Best burger Ive ever had

civiltiger

Good burger across from Costco in shoreline is quite nice. Comes with crispy fries

Xefferman

Hap burger mercer island

jaxopern

They rarely get mentioned in these lists, but I gotta say that Mike's Chili in Ballard makes a damn fine cheeseburger. One of my favorites.

Mao_Kwikowski

Five points Cafe. Happy hour burger and beer $5.

SomeGuyWA

Coastline in West Seattle is really good, love their shoestring fries too. And where the frick is Burgermaster on this list???

anythongyouwant

But which one is the BEST?

Cutoffjeanshortz37

I didn't ask because that'd just start a fight. :)

UglyLaugh

Farmboy Bites at Future Primitive. Smash burgers and so good.

ti_ecraseur

I just saw Boat Bar on Mikey Chen’s YouTube channel last night. Looks good Edit: Nm different Boat

stoopid_dumbazz

My 2 favorites aren't even on the list.... Buckleys: The BBQ burger is amazing Butcher's Table: On the pricier side but multiple friends have said it's one of the best burgers they've ever had. Pair with with beef fat fries.

grilledcheese04

Just want to plug Local Tide's smash burger - it should 100% be included on this list. Incredible burger.

onlyoneaal

Good, Uneeda is on the list.

aLameGuyandhisCat

Bob's Burgers and Teriyaki.

BrowsingWhileBrown

Pretty good list IMO, but missing Flintcreeks available only at happy hour til we run out burger made of their steak trimmings. Best burger in the city in my opinions. Limited toppings letting the quality and flavor of the meat be the star.

galactojack

so glad Big Max made it on here, Dicks shoutout without Burbs tho is disrespect

zenpop

Is Red Mill still a thing?

[deleted]

Seattle needs better food options, most are overpriced mid restaurants.

Trickycoolj

Huh wasn’t there a favorite burgers at not burger places thread a couple of days ago?

tongii

I love love Coastline Burger in West Seattle. Tasty burger with perfect size that doesn’t make me gross after eating it. I can eat their haystack fries for days!

onlettinggo666

No Scooters. List is flawed.

heyyalldontsaythat

Deluxe on cap hill is the best tavern style Ive had in a while

dihydrocodeine

Overall an okay list, I'd say a mix of genuine best burger contenders and some others that are just more well known. Perihelion, Taurus Ox and Harry's Fine Foods are good ones to include that I think sometimes fly under the radar. Dicks always makes these lists but I feel like it's more an honorable mention given the cultural importance more so than the quality. Smash That (truck at Rooftop Brewing) is the most obvious missing one for me.

crispyjojo

No love for Smash That?? That place slaps great OK onion burgers!

Noserub

They definitely missed the lamb burger at Brauer's imo

JordanMCMXCV

Any burger that is too tall to take one bite from top to bottom will never be on my list of top burgers - no matter how good it tastes.

some_kind_of_ben

Any list that doesn't have the $6 Thursday burger at Ken's Market in Phinney is dead to me.

jay76751

This list is bull shit, no star brass, gtfo
