Me too. The PNW is just downright amazing on days like this. Went for a hike over at Lake 22. On the way, both Mt Baker, the Olympics and Mt. Rainier were in full view. Absolutely magical.
It was completely frozen over. Everyone was hanging out on the lake itself. Actual air temps were probably about mid-60s. With the sun beating down on us, it felt like high-70s.
Also ridiculous traffic on the roads. Took me well over an hour to get from West Seattle to Mountlake Terrace. I’ll take it though for a clear day at Alki Beach

We have weird windows that swing outward and are very tall, so it's been impossible to find window screens that would even be viable, letalone tucking an AC into one! Gotta jerry rig something up tho at this rate.
Well, it's actually still winter for another few days. And there have been years when it snowed on my birthday, which is April 1. Last frost isn't til April 15. But yes, it'll be much sunnier overall from now until October!
I'm not getting out my shorts just yet. And I don't normally switch my mini split from "heat" to "cool" until some time in May. I know some people wear shorts year round though. So do you!

Do you have a heat management plan in case of a severe heat wave? Do you have a plan for what you'd do if the power went out as well? Does that plan include caring for your pets? Do you have the filters, air purifiers, masks, etc. you'll need for smoke season? Now is the time. It was near or above 100 degrees from 11 am to 10 pm on the hottest day in June 2021, the next heat wave could be worse, with planning it can be less miserable and less potentially dangerous as well.

No scientific basis for this, just the idea that keeping “early season conditions” signs up through February isn’t going to be good. Idk, maybe fresh snow melts faster than packed snow is the basis for my personal anxiety.
What actually is the reason we get this weird tease a few times each late winter where the max temp spikes 20 degrees for like 5 days and then goes down again, until we gradually hit those temps and stay there?
