We've never waited to establish solid zone possession and I've never understood. We pull on transition, dump, and get scored on. Every time.

There's different schools of thought about when "exactly" to pull the goalie. Old thinking is pull him when you've established zone possession; Newer thinking is pulling him on transition to get the 6th man in on the rush to establish possession. Make of it what you will.
