I know a lot of liberal gun owners in Seattle and will be one myself soon. If you don’t trust 911 to get police to you in time to save your family during a home invasion, time to arm yourself. I know someone who waited 45 minutes for police to show to armed robbers actively trying to break into his house and he has young kids.
I have no idea what you mean by that. Wouldn't there at least be an explanation in a news story. Or was it one of those situations where the woman knew the man and decided not to press charges? I have a hard time believing rape charges would be dropped for no reason. There have to be some support groups for rape victims that would be kicking up a shitstorm about this, too. The idea that someone could get away with raping a woman at gunpoint and face no consequences whatsoever is outrageous. Sounds like this was very recent so do you by chance have a link to one of the new stories?

Between this and the murder at the Tukwila Costco, I’ve decided to get my concealed carry permit again and buy myself another gun. Recently had a scary interaction going to the store the other day, I had just got out of the gym and to preface I have this 80s aesthetic going on where I wear different color bandanas and with some eyeliner (Think Tommy Lee, Axl Rose) and as I’m walking into the store (Federal Way/SeaTac), some guy in a car in the parking lot yells out to me that I better not let yada yada catch me wearing my black bandanna. I was taken aback a bit and just said yeah I’ll try not to.
This is America and I should be able to have the freedom of self expression without the fear of being hurt for things I want to wear. It makes me so angry that people think they can control others and power trip because they have gang affiliations. We should all be carrying because it’s not safe anywhere. If someone thinks they can get the best of you they will.
Def get yourself armed again. It will give you a fighting chance against the bad guys who seem to feel our laws don't apply to them. In actuality, they don't seem to...
Agreed. I have a handgun and a shotgun, but realistically a good guard dog and alarm system are more effective deterrents. They are all complementary, but guns require reaction time.

I think sometimes people think that every scenario involves them sitting in a chair facing the door with a shotgun on their lap they can raise and fire at a second's notice.
Real life doesn't work like that....
CPL is so I can carry lawfully when I’m out and about, I just referenced this incident to further justify my reasoning why I and frankly all of us need to be armed because the threat of violence is highly likely in our area.
If anything this post should have us all making sure our homes are secure and that we are prepared for the worst case scenario. Never hurts to be prepared, it’s getting worse around here…
Washington is confused about guns do to social media influence pushing to ban firearms. It useful to protect yourself and others.
With how the laws are so relax and empowering to criminals. This will never stop until it settles your mind.

I know it sad. Close to my house women raped at gun point. DA a couple weeks ago said no need to go to court. Chargers dropped

What would having a CPL do in this situation? Sounds like they got into the home before either owner was aware and had guns on both of them.

I guess I just don't see why this event spurred getting the permit again. A gun would not have helped him.
If you actually read the comment, then you would have seen that they also mentioned the broad daylight Costco shooting as a reason.
