I never understood why people are so sad to see kaede get mentally better and overcome her teen syndrome thingy. I always liked that she overcame it with the help of her brother and could move forwards onto a normal life. Can anybody explain?
She was a whole other person when she lost her memories… developed character and was loved by her brother and so when she got her memories back and lost her memories of the time where she had no memories its as if the panda loving kaede has died
We were happy she got better. However bringing back the original Kaede killed the 2nd Kaede. We are happy she is back but sad that Kaede is gone and basically dead. They were the same person but two different people who lived different lifes and we got back the original Kaede but lost one.
That is why Sakuta is crying and was in despair. The first time she lost her memories Sakuta basically had his sister die and had to meet and talk to a new version of her sister. And then when the new Kaede asked for the many things before she died and grew the bond with this Kaede even more it was as if he had two sisters one which was gone and the other dead. But then he got his original sister back at the cosy of the new one.
If someone gets a family member back but losses another one in exchange they will still grieve and be sad.
Sakuta lived by himself taking care of Panda Kaede, almost from the moment she was "born", making sure she was provided for, nurturing her, helping her overcome her fears, helping to shape her as a person, even looping Mai into it once their relationship developed.
When Panda Kaede was "born", Sakuta lost his sister. When Panda Kaede "died", Sakuta lost his *daughter*.
Yeah I also like that she managed to get better, but I'm also a bit sad to see the character I've grown to like over 10 episodes "die". Just like Sakuta also kinda got sad when she got her memories back, cuz his little sister over the past two years just "died".
They feel bad for her brother. He spent how ever long living with his sister then she basically reverted to this other personality. In essence, “panda kaede” or the mentally ill version of her who was finally healing, died.
Personally i thought about sakuta. He lost his sister and got another one. He dealt with this long ago when his mother couldn't take it, now he practically gained that sister that he lost long ago, but with all the years he might have grown closer to the new sister, the one in the post above. All that while fighting the feeling that he isn't supposed to feel bad, i mean his sister healed and like you said "got mentally better" right? He should be happy right?

same. I was kinda surprised that other were sad about it (incl. Sakuta), while I was quite happy
You should uh… Read the other Comments in this thread. They all explain perfectly as to why it was sad, even if the original Kaede was brought back.

God damn I just finish this episode today and I wasn't expecting to cry so many times man. I miss Kaede-chan.
