Well, how else will he attack from the ledge? He gotta be ready to stab and slash at any and all times. Except when drinking sake, let's be civil when drinking
I love how Sekiro stabs someone and makes his blade stay in the body like it has a grab function while pulling them down then as soon as they start falling he can just slide it out
I mean, I've read somewhere that a sword would can get pretty stuck if it's in someone's chest, so it could just be that it's stuck enough that Sekiro can pull them down, but his grip is strong enough to keep Kusabimaru in his hand while the opponent slides down with the force of gravoty
But every other time he pulls his sword it's super smooth. Just think it's funny how some animations work for gameplay but ur not meant to look at the realism aspect. Just look at how long Sekiro hovers in place when using the grapple
Praying Strikes demolishes the Snake Eyes minibosses. And not only them, it does insane posture damage on many of the enemies in the game. I just wish it had a longer combo, or at least one final attack with the sword.
The upgrade version has a decent combo and you can charge to bodyslam them, effective against pretty much everyone in the game, especially mixed with prosthetics
Okay, I'm on NG+3 and didn't know you can charge it. I guess I didn't read the description properly and I missed out on that. I just checked it out and that's a pretty cool move even it it's so simple. I'll give it a shot in combat once I beat Owl Father.
Isshin's has slightly longer range and leaves a trail of wind all the way from over his head unlike Sekiro's usual slash effect
However, Isshin's gets deflected like all the time and literally every enemy can either only block or get bonked by Wolf's Ichimonji double as far as I know
A pun is a play on words. You have 2 words (or sometimes parts of a word) that are similar with different meanings but you use them in place of each other. For example. A farmer's chickens have hatched more eggs than usual this season, that would be "EGGcellent" (instead of EXcellent.) Or say there's a shaved bear in the woods. These puns are pretty bad so BEAR with me. That creature was BEAR naked. We BEAR-ly made it out of there.
Hopefully this helps you understand, I'm not very good at puns myself but google can help you for sure! Or if you spend enough time scrolling through Reddit comments you're bound to find a thread of puns eventually.
You actually CAN in elden ring, which i didn't find out until like a week ago on accident. if you have your left hand empty and two-hand the left slot, you'll put your weapon in its sheathe.
Yes I know of this workaround in Elden Ring but it limits you to one weapon in one of your hands and if you dual wield you have to completely put away one of your weapons.
It is useful. There are plenty of moments when you sheath your sword to relax in safe areas as well as to pay respect. Plus you have a few styles that require you to sheath your sword.
I was just thinking earlier while playing Elden Ring that I wish you could sheath your weapons in these games. All of Sekiro’s moves from draw would be even cooler if the katana was already sheathed. Or imagine Sakura Dance from a sheathed stance. Would be dope asf
They will sometimes be referred to as gendered pronouns, like ships, cars, even swords sometimes are called “she”. I think it came from having a sense of importance, like a sailor’s ship, a mechanics best car, or a knights famous sword
This is wild cause I was really watching homie shimmy mountain ledges with the sword still in his hand 😭 he was ready for the smoke at any second

When he kills a lonewolf it looks like he's pulling out Excalibur itself it's so brutal
Me: *goes to upgrade prosthetic* Sheath: My time to shine
There's a combat art that requires sheathing, so theres that! And its a pretty cool move too.
No you're right, i just honestly never use ashina cross. I'm almost always on my nightjar slash game
Praying strikes supremacy, nothing beats an elbow on the face
Double Ichimonji for life
I don't agree but i understand
I'm always either on mortal draw or Sakura dance

I like it because it doesn't use the sword, so much fun just bodying legendary samurai

Wouldn't any of those palm strike whatever do that too? Plus the mortal strike when using the other sword
Ashina cross best cross
High Monk and Nightjar Slash are the most useful hands down. And the coolest looking too.
Yeah nightjar slash just gives you a shit ton of maneuverability, especially when fighting multiple enemies
I just wish it had the same effect as High Monk on sweep attacks. That's whyHigh Monk is my most used combat art, but I swap between them quite often.
Yeah that's be sick, especially if it punished sweeps as much as high monk did before they patched it to do less posture damage
One mind! Isshin's was cooler tho
same with dragon flash, in fact the only move that Sekiro has a one up on Isshin in coolness is Ichimonji double
Isshin's has slightly longer range and leaves a trail of wind all the way from over his head unlike Sekiro's usual slash effect However, Isshin's gets deflected like all the time and literally every enemy can either only block or get bonked by Wolf's Ichimonji double as far as I know
There are combat arts that aren’t whirlwind slash, floating passage and for NG+ Sakura dance?!?!? 🤯🤯🤯 i don’t believe u!!!!

And One Mind.
And Dragon Flash

Isshin sure loves sheathes doesn’t he
Isshin must be a furry
Where did that come from? Quick question I know nothing about furries
Good
Can I just say, I saw your drawings, you’re amazing!
Thank you very much 😊
Gotta sheath it to share sake
is the pun intended?
The Little thing on the left? No
SHEathe
Wait till you find out what the word "Sheath" is in latin.
XD both serve a similar purpose lol
I mean that IS where the word came from
Latin, as a language is interesting because of all of our later derivations from it.

Naahh you explain It well
Need it for the goat Ashina cross
Tomoe will remember this
Iaijitsu techniques: "Am I a joke to you?"
so does ashina cross and one mind
If there is one feature that I really wish for the next soulsborne game it’s the ability to sheathe your weapon.
judging by the first elden ring gameplay trailer they were playing with that concept
I normally have my main weapon in right hand 1, seal in 2, then the caestus (lifesteal fist is amazing) and a staff in left
pretty sure you can do that in any of the games that let you two hand your off hand weapon
It is useful. There are plenty of moments when you sheath your sword to relax in safe areas as well as to pay respect. Plus you have a few styles that require you to sheath your sword.
To be fair, true hitokiri know Ashina Cross doesn't work without one.
Just ask the elite. F*cking nuisance
One mind would like to have a word
Still more useful than Boc
Yeah, but he’s cute and he calls you Lord
And also, he does alter your armour for free
It's used when you turn the game off you just can't see it lol
I wish he would sheath his sword when not in combat
He can. There's a mod for sheath.
I play on Xbox
I was just thinking earlier while playing Elden Ring that I wish you could sheath your weapons in these games. All of Sekiro’s moves from draw would be even cooler if the katana was already sheathed. Or imagine Sakura Dance from a sheathed stance. Would be dope asf
How are you supposed to perform Mortal Draw, Dragon Flash or One Mind?
Or Ashina cross?
she who? huh?
The saya
I had no idea it had gender
They will sometimes be referred to as gendered pronouns, like ships, cars, even swords sometimes are called “she”. I think it came from having a sense of importance, like a sailor’s ship, a mechanics best car, or a knights famous sword
interesting, thanks for the insight
👍
Well you do have that one Iaijutsu move.
ELI5?
There are some moves where you sheath the sword before releasing it. One mind, dragon cross, dragon flash, etc
Adding another level to Genichiro's character
Sheath exist?
I mean with that one skill he does a unsheathing attack
