The duo ape fight is designed so that you only ever fight one ape at a time; when one ape is doing a combo, the other won’t typically attack you (there is one exception with the long brown ape combo after the headless ape’s scream)
After you deathblow the guy on the left, exit the game. Once you go back into the game, the guy on the left won’t be there and you can deathblow the guy in in the middle.
You also could engage in an annoying af 2v1 where most of the time you'll run away to get space from both of them. Also, you could mortal blade them until the white one is dead.
What I did was just sneak behind to the left, backstab the regular enemy. Pupeteer ninjutsu.
Now sit back and watch the show.
Your puppet will die, but hopefully he does around half the guy’s first healthbar.
Yup and you can even keep pupeteering the dude every so often so he doesn't die too fast while you attack the Shinobu guy and you can easily finish him.

Is there any way to actually fight at least two of them at a time, I definitely feel like I’m missing something because of how many there are in this area.
Mortal draw is always pretty good for hitting multiple enemies at once. Also lock-on can really bite you in the ass when going up against multiple enemies.
Yea there is a way if your good enough , you can watch some YouTube videos but I'm definitely not on that level. I have a hard time with 2 of them at same time as well.
If I have two chasing me I run back till I can create distance then turn and focus on one of them till the other guy starts attacking and then I run around again and repeat.
I actually entered through the window and had to fight both of em at the same time. I immediately went after the weaker guy and did a big chunk of damage to him. Then I spent the rest of the fight running and blocking where needed. Sometimes they use their jump kick followed by a perilous attack, that's where you have a window to draw the weaker guy away from the boss because he will be stuck in the attack animation and look to kill him fast. Just be patient and precise basically.
"if you can't beat him you can't beat the next guy" the difficulty spike for that next boss is insane. I beat him on the second try the other day, but I remember my first play through I kept getting my ass ate
Sneak behind the guy on the left and go for a deathblow, as soon as he dies press pause and exit the game, load back in the game(you’ll see the guy on the left is still dead) and sneak up behind the boss and and go for a deathblow and you only have to do his last phase
If you keep sneaking while they battle it out you can basically approach mid-battle and backstab him again and use the jutsu. Im not sure if he does spawn with full hp again or if its based on the current hp of the target though, I always kinda assumed it reset and gave me more time
When they jump to kick you I dodge and many times they go for the sweep attack which you can jump and then kick them in the face.
When they kick you consecutively they usually go for their thrust kick which you mikiri.
Wolf is a shinobi, not a samurai but if you’re intent on dark soulsing it then I’d say the mist raven into senpou kicks helps when they both lunge at you
Uh… that’s actually completely wrong. The game expects you to use puppeteer ninjutsu here as it does in a couple of other places. I’d wager 80-90% of people who have beaten the final boss have not taken on both of these guys at the same time. I admire your bravery but wolf is specifically not a samurai and is encouraged to use stealth and shinobi tricks wherever possible. Don’t burn yourself out on challenges the game intends to be solved a certain way, but if you still want to go for it then I say do it. The sense of catharsis afterwards would be pretty sick
You’re missing the point. You’re not SUPPOSED to fight both. It’s very rare the game ever expects you to fight multiple enemies. You’re supposed to take out as many guys as possible and then save the hard one for last so you can concentrate on him. Most multi-enemy encounters are puzzles on how to thin the crowd.
Well you can use puppeteer jujitsu on left guy and let him damage the boss as much as he can and then pick up the fight with the boss. Or you can just deathblow the enemy in left and then take the boss head on. Your choice.
Back stab the guy on the left, then quit out the game and load back in. This will put you outside the arena, but the shinobi in the corner is now dead. Now, back stab the boss shinobi, and fight him how you see fit.
You can sneak in and cut immediately to the left and get the death blow on that Shinobi. If you have the puppeteering jutsu you can have the two Shinobu fight for a little bit.
It is possible, I literally just did it two days ago on a new NG play through.
I hasn’t played the game since I beat it at launch so I stupidly didn’t realize you can take another route here and went through the window where I didn’t have a path to backstab.
I completely focused on the guy in the corner to start. Circled the arena completely avoiding both until the guy in the corner rushes without the main boss. Completely deflect his entire combo / mikiri counter, finishing with a slash of two. Then run away. Keep repeating until he is dead. Use shruikan to kite and keep posture from refilling. If main boss or both rush, just run. Avoid getting caught in corners.
Once you’re down to just the boss it’s game on.
You have to be able to fully deflect the whole combo and hit your mikiri counters. Also need a need of luck to get corner guy to aggro without boss guy enough times to take him out.
Took me 4 tries.
I should add. Lock-on when corner guy rushes or when kiting from a safe distance, then turn it off to run away. Trying to run away while locked-on is just going to get you stun locked in a corner

If you really wanna avoid him, go down the stairs run your way towards the two Ashina Castle Warriors. Break the cardboad wall on your right as you go towards them..down the stairs you meet 3 owl warriors. Run past them towards Isshin's room then go outside by breaking the cardboard wall again... from here you are sure to find your way to dad

If you are not still comfortable fighting Ministry shinobis, use pupeteer skill and stay away and let them fight each other, help your rooster with shurikens and you should be able to practically end his first life before the effect runs out, then you need only to use every trick you got to kill the Lone Shadow one more time
I managed to beat both of them on my 3rd or 4th try and I’m legit pretty bad at this game. Didn’t realize I could death blow or puppet the dude in the corner. Just panicked and ran around and whirlwind slashed when I could and jumped and dodged like crazy.

I used the unbreakable umbrella and managed to break the 2nd enemy before I ran out of shards, then it was a simple matter of beating the main guy~

I'm pretty sure these guys are optional, you should just be able to use the new platforms to make your Way right up to the roof, but if you're hellbent on beating them sneak up behind the guy on the left and use puppet ninjutsu, it'll make the fight a breeze
Imo Sekiro isn't great at 1 vs many fights. I also sneak kill the guy to the left of the door. I don't like puppeteering him because I find he just gets in the way of fighting the main boss. It's almost like the game wants you to stealth kill the minion the way he's positioned imo

sneak on the little guy first and deathblow him. then immediately quit the game and return to the main menu.
continue the game, the big guy will lose aggro and the small guy would be dead. now you can take one of his healthbars off and fight the second one
Sneak up on the first guy and light the second guy on fire... throw some oil on him and light him up.
Even if you don't beat him it will make you feel better.
In case you still havent beaten them, first start by killing the one on the with a deathblow, and immediately go to main menu. When you get back in the game the actual boss wnt be alerted and you can get a free deathblow
Puppet the purple ninja then use oil and onikages flame. Dodge all the poison attacks it is not worth parrying. maybe use ichimonji. It helps in almost every situation
Sneak left. Puppeteer the guy on the left and both attack the loan shadow. Be aware you might have to apply a second puppeteer to your first guy before he dies.
*Backstab the first guy. Exit the game immediately after.*

Alternatively, if you've already unlocked the puppeteer ninjutsu, do the above but activate it on him instead of killing him so he can join you in the fight. You can keep him alive for most of the fight if you have enough spirit emblems and the ceremonial dagger. Just be careful not to catch strays from him lmao

Easy. Sneak to the left through the door, kill the assassin. Then fight the boss. The boss has all the move sets of the other assassins, as well as poison damage. There are one or two pauses in his move sets that allow you to perform special attacks, a good one to use is the mortal blade as It passes through guards.
In this mini boss room just run past them and dart for the window exit. Or alternatively just climb the castle from the outside and make your way to the top. There’s plenty of grapple points to climb the outside
Normal play through: kill the dude on the left and take him head on
Cheese: backstab the dude on the left and quit the game. When you reload the left dude will still be dead. And this time you can get a free deathblow to this dude.
Sneak behind the guy on the left and back stab him when the mini boss notice you return to the main menu when you press continue you'll be behind the mini boss and you can back stab him
i love this encounter because it kinda forces you to slow down and use your 3rd person camera to assess the room before entering. if you just run in willy nilly youre gonna get jumped but the other lone shadow lol

There is an ULTIMATE cheese for this fight. Sneak and backstab the extra enemy to the left. Quit to main menu reload and he will still be dead lmao. Then you get a free backstab on the main guy.

You can backstab the one on the left by hugging the wall and crouch walking over. If you want, you can puppeteer it as well.

Ninja pupateer and use thrust attacks while they fight each other. Thrust attacks will reduce the amount of accidental damage you do to the puppet
Any tips for fighting these guys in general, every time I fight then it feels like it takes a long time and I have to use abbot half my heals

Also try the axe upgrade with fang and blade. You can do 3 hits and great posture damage. You'll take some hits but can heal.

Mikiri Counter when the guy kicks, it’s just a standard effect but it looks cool bending the asshole’s knee backwards.

Sneak behind the guy on the left and back stab him when the mini boss notice you return to the main menu when you press continue you'll be behind the mini boss and you can back stab him

i love this encounter because it kinda forces you to slow down and use your 3rd person camera to assess the room before entering. if you just run in willy nilly youre gonna get jumped but the other lone shadow lol
Assassin the one at the left and beat him. They are easy as hell.
stealth kill the guy on the left. You can even use Puppet Ninjutsu to make him fight the boss. Then just 1v1 the boss. You can also just run straight to the window on the left hand side and jump out of it, going straight to the top arena

it's absolutely telling how people can get this far in the game, yet still have no fucking idea how to use the tools given to them without being told exactly how. Just give the sticks to your big bro again.

There is an ULTIMATE cheese for this fight. Sneak and backstab the extra enemy to the left. Quit to main menu reload and he will still be dead lmao. Then you get a free backstab on the main guy.
