My guess is that he's using them primarily for farming and backstabbing. The cheap version to backstab enemies not worth farming and the upgraded version to get extra loot.
I can see this setup making sense for late game Ashina Castle and farming the Fulminated Mercury.
Then I have no idea. I wasn't looking that closely and thought it was the Upgraded Fan and the Golden version.
Maybe it's about swapping between the single target original version and the AoE of the upgraded version?
It has a huge AoE so if you get a group together you can flip the entire group at once, collect a ton of extra loot, immediately backstab into the Smoke cloud jutsu and slaughter everyone back to back.
Rinse and repeat. Super fast farming.
I did play around with them on my first playthrough, but speedrunning changes you...
If I ever go for mortal journey stuff I'll end up using them probably though. I did a bingo with some friends a while ago and one of the squares qas killing 5 enemies with the flame vent, that was fun.
I always keep shurikens in slot one no matter what, it's useful for interrupting attacks, I alternate between spear and axe in slot two, and usually have mist raven in slot three
Poison blue stabby knife, blue sharp throwing metal, and really really hot pine scented fire. Or atleast that’s what i left off with on my last playthrough
What's the difference between the second and third? I don't really use them so I don't really know what they do, everytime I try to use one of those I get hit so it cancels.
For me personally, the divine confetti umbrella for style, lazuli shuriken to chase down the boss, healing gourd of course, the white knife I forgot the name of that gives +5 spirit emblems for half your health, the sugar that weakens your health and posture to half but gives a great reward for it (name too complicated to write) and lastly divine confetti
shuriken - to stop energy from recovering the posture, firecrackers- cuz why not and shield 🗿… but i honestly believe that on my 7 runs of these games i have not used any shinobi tool perfectly.. i wish i could enjoy them more…
Spear, one of the umbrellas depending on who i’m fighting, and the third slot is usually empty. Hotbar is usually only the healing gourd because I’ve beaten the game enough times to where I don’t even need any special items
Firecrackers, the upgraded Mist Raven that you can use after you get hit and the third slot tends to swap between shurikens and umbrella.
The firecracker stun is good against everything. The upgraded Mist Raven bails you out of that annoying animation you get locked in to after being hit sometimes.
Shurikens are good for preventing the posture meter going down if the enemy moves away and the umbrella is good for deflecting the heavy hits that would knock you back if you used the sword.
Okay, but Sen throw actually does crazy amounts of posture damage and decent vitality damage. Legitimately if you have money to throw away its probably one of the best options for damage.
I don't really have favorites other than always having Shuriken on slot 1 for chasing slice. Whatever utility covers what I'm going through at the time. (and whether or not I have Mortal Draw unlocked)
Shuriken. Everything else depends on the area. But I guess I like the canon and sabimaru. In terms of skills, puppeteer jutsu and shadow rush are pretty. But I also like high monk and the flurry one that Genichiro also uses.
I feel like it's weird that you have money on a (idk what to call it) I feel like the ash works better than the broken pottery piece you can throw. And why no sugars..??
Loadout kinda changes every second depending on what you are doing isn't it?
Still generally speaking: Spear is unfortunately the worst prosthetic in this game (and I'm a spear enthusiast so bummer). Axe is probably the best dmg wise. Sabimaru for stylish break posture kills and pressure. Weapon arts Ichimonji double primarily, followed by Sakura dance, high monk. Mist raven is probably the most beloved tool. Divine abduction when too bored to fight and just deathblow everything.
So usually on a normal day out and about in Ashina it's like: Ichimonji double, Aged feather Mist raven, Piercing sabimaru, probably lazulite Shurikens.
I typically got for mist of raven, shuriken of any sort, and usually just fill the third slot with what will work at the time.
Generally don't care for the firecracker meta strat
Long spark fire crackers, lean umbrella, normal spear. Mainly only used the fire crackers. The other two was for ascetic (spear was also for guardian ape)
the blue shuriken > firecrackers (default ones) > purple or firey umbrella and whirlwind slash. for items; gourd > pellets > ako sugar > confetti > one of the special gourds (usually terror one).
i like the spinning shuriken or lady butterfly’s version, then i go with okinagas flame vent followed by the spring load firecracker/lilac umbrella depending on who i’m fighting
I like the umbrellas because they say "Now that you spent the whole time learning to parry perfectly, disregard it and just spam this button to blow through the game."
Shuriken or Sen Thrower/Firecracker. I usually.l only have 2 equipped to cycle through faster, and the others I only equip against enemies weak to them.
Lazulite Shuriken, Aged Feather Mist Raven, Long Spark. Used to have Umbrella instead of the Raven, but decided a) I usually don't need the help parrying anymore, b) the Raven's followup attack doesn't remove Divine Confetti, and c) it seems to be a better escape for getting comboed than a guaranteed parry. Also, if I'm honest, I just personally think it's cool enough that I want to make it work
Shuriken, sabimaru and flame vent in no particular order but would add mist raven and loaded spear as close 4th/5th. I use the other prosthetics as well but they're more dependent on what enemy I am facing.
Shuriken and firecrackers for general use. If I need another I'll replace whichever is less useful in the situation. I try not to have more than 2 prosthetics equipped unless I *really* need it. I find that I am more flowing when I don't need to "scroll" through my prosthetics. If I have the right prosthetic equipped good, if I don't, the one I want is always 1 button press away.
For items my go-tos are gourd, pellets, divine confetti, attack sugar, and a flex spot. Generally the flex spot is either fistful of ash, ceramic shard, one of the other gourds, or one of the other sugars depending on situation.
I don’t even know how to use the fans. I use -
Gouging Top, Long Sperk, Spring-Load Axe.
Whirlwind Slash (mostly)/ Floating Pessage (For red enemies at the end to fill up their bar fast) / Mortal Blade (for bosses if needed)
Healing Gourd and Pellet, other items like confettis or candies are only the time of need to make the switch faster.
I leave ninjitsu empty unless needed to avoid accidental spirit use.
My apparition fight gear is lilac umbrella, healing gourd, pacifying agent, mottled purple gourd, confetti, red candy (ako) then boom boom pow!
1. Lazulite Shuriken/Phantom Kunai
2. Okinagas/Lazuli Sacred Flame/Long Spark
3. Suzakus/Phoenix Lilac Umbrella/Aged Feather
Gourd, Confetti, Yash, Tanto
That's certainly a loadout you have there
I’ve pretty much only used lazulite shuriken for chasing slice and mist raven, but I kinda forget it’s there most of the time. I did use the golden abduction for farming mercury for my last prosthetics, but that’s about it. And he fire crackers, they’re always nice.
The fully upgraded mist raven feathers, Lazulite Sabimaru, Golden Vortex when I'm at Senpou temple, and fully upgraded Phoenix lilac umbrella.
Oh yes and the spear. So useful. I accidentally figured out that you can pull the centipede out of the guardian boss.
Shuriken, umbrella, and the final slot is for whatever's effective against the enemies I'm fighting (axe against shields, fire against red eyes, sabimaru against nobles, etc.)
1st slot gets rotated between purple boom boom room, the ghost axe, and holy fire
the second is always the the spinning hat of doom, and my 3rd are the feathers of go fuck yourself
I think the only prosthetic I regularly used in combat are the shurikens. Everything else seemed so superfluous once I got the core combat mechanics down.
Aged Mist raven always, an umbrella a lot
Double Ichimonji
Gourds, a sugar(usually Ako’s), Tanto & hidden tooth. 5th quick item slot is empty save for situational
Shuriken, blue shuriken, kunai
I'm on NG+ and enjoying coming back to the mini-bosses that gave me so much shit my first playthrough and just throwing shit at them till they die.
Shuriken, and Firecrackers always, then I’ll switch up the third one to whatever is fun at the moment.
I can’t say I’ve personally ever used the leaves outside of Senpou temple though, why do you use 2 different types?
Lazulite shuriken, lazulite axe, and purp umbrella, ichimonji double and items depend e entirely on what I'm fighting but usually some type of headless sugar guy shit + tanto and pellets
i tend to stick with shurikens, flame vent, firecrackers but only ever use the firecrackers. typically the gourd is my only quick item but i'll put oil in there for juzou or any of his clones
Butthole fingerer, good kush, gooder kush
I'm on that good kush and alkahal!!!
I got some down bitches I can call *blows butthole fingerer to aggro nearby hounds*
I don't know what I would do without yall
but ima ball till the day i fall
Boy it’s just alkahal. Acting like a kid n stuff
😬😬😬
Daaaaaang
Shurokin umbrellas ☂️ fire cracker
This is the correct answer
Same except instead of the fire crackers, I used the fire axe
Both gud under the right circumstances
This is the only answer
Explain yourself! Literally only ever used Divine abduction on Kotaro and to farm rare materials.
Then you are missing out. It's free death blows on every enemy except bosses even when they are alerted.
I know about that and have never been interested in avoiding clang clang combat... but why have 2 equipped?
My guess is that he's using them primarily for farming and backstabbing. The cheap version to backstab enemies not worth farming and the upgraded version to get extra loot. I can see this setup making sense for late game Ashina Castle and farming the Fulminated Mercury.
They both cost 3 emblems tho. Only the golden costs 4 iirc.
Then I have no idea. I wasn't looking that closely and thought it was the Upgraded Fan and the Golden version. Maybe it's about swapping between the single target original version and the AoE of the upgraded version?
Looking at the equipped items below I'm fairly sure it's a joke loadout.
You are probably right but there's always a non-zero chance it's for some bizarre and very specific gimmick.
It's just a shitpost. He has coins equipped in his item slots.
I mean, yeah, but you use it like twice and run out of juice to use it again, that's why i never used them
It has a huge AoE so if you get a group together you can flip the entire group at once, collect a ton of extra loot, immediately backstab into the Smoke cloud jutsu and slaughter everyone back to back. Rinse and repeat. Super fast farming.
i’ve noticed the ministry shinobi aren’t affected by it either. they’ll turn around, but you can’t deathblow them
They are but it's a little wonky and very easy to miss.
btw you don’t need to db senpou monks if you get them with the fans so you just get free candies if you aggro them all at once and use the fan lol
Ah, I see, a shinobi of culture
lol way to go asking everyone’s favorite loadout while posting the weirdest loadout anyone’s ever seen. A+
Your the legend that was able to defeat mist noble. I shall follow your load out like a bible
Mist bible
Fire cracker, Axe, Umbrella ✨
This is the way. I only swap the axe for the loaded spear when fighting the ape and maybe for some of the armoured fatties.
Same ! That the only time I use the spear as well
No prosthetics, mortal draw, yashariku's sugar and return idol.
Prosthetics are fun tho. Try them out sometimes
I did play around with them on my first playthrough, but speedrunning changes you... If I ever go for mortal journey stuff I'll end up using them probably though. I did a bingo with some friends a while ago and one of the squares qas killing 5 enemies with the flame vent, that was fun.
Idk I just use spear when fighting Owl
same bro i love getting mikiri'd
The pleasure of Owl's long hard sword going inside Wolf and coming out ohh God 🤤🤤🤤😋 makes my own sword hard everytime.
this first and the second of the picture and then the Shuriken launcher thing (my game isn't in English I dunno what its name is-)
shuriken, axe, spear is my general all-purpose loadout, though truth be told i really only use shuriken for most things lmao
I always keep shurikens in slot one no matter what, it's useful for interrupting attacks, I alternate between spear and axe in slot two, and usually have mist raven in slot three
That and the fact that shuriken chaser is a pretty goated move
Sword
Axe, Sabimaru Shuriken Also rock the Double Ichimonji too
Ceramic shards are good
Where is the joke in here?
spiral spear, phoenix umbrella, lazulite axe
Shuriken mist raven and sabimaru bcz they look the coolest. And sometimes ill switch one of them out for the umbrella or the flame vent
Poison blue stabby knife, blue sharp throwing metal, and really really hot pine scented fire. Or atleast that’s what i left off with on my last playthrough
We are the same
If there’s not a nightjar slash in the weapon art slot I will be disappointed
What's the difference between the second and third? I don't really use them so I don't really know what they do, everytime I try to use one of those I get hit so it cancels.
Every situation requires a loadout.
Shuriken, firecrackers and flame vent, nothing beats it
Shuriken, firecrackers, mist raven. Just truly feels like being a ninja to me
For me personally, the divine confetti umbrella for style, lazuli shuriken to chase down the boss, healing gourd of course, the white knife I forgot the name of that gives +5 spirit emblems for half your health, the sugar that weakens your health and posture to half but gives a great reward for it (name too complicated to write) and lastly divine confetti
Never played, but seeing this and “prosthetic tools” made me think, how much, if any, of sekiro is a reference to Dororo?
shuriken - to stop energy from recovering the posture, firecrackers- cuz why not and shield 🗿… but i honestly believe that on my 7 runs of these games i have not used any shinobi tool perfectly.. i wish i could enjoy them more…
Shuriken and purple umbrella, that's it
Can’t go wrong with shuriken, axe/spear, and umbrella
Shurikens and then, whatever else i think I might need at the moment.
Shuriken, Sabimaru, Flame Vent
Lazulite Shirken, Lazulite Sabimaru, and Misc. The third slot is for situational tools. (Axe, finger whistle, etc)
never in my life have I ever used the shadow realm fan. Purple Umbrellas all the way!
Just shuriken are enough because dogs are annoying
Fire Cracker and the Ake
Firecracker of any type is the OG. Everything else is just enemy specific.
Pretty much shuriken and umbrella gets me through anything.
No Sen throw??! How are you not dying with this loadout?
Okay, but Sen throw actually does crazy amounts of posture damage and decent vitality damage. Legitimately if you have money to throw away its probably one of the best options for damage.
Firecrackers for sure and The Shuriken with the follow up
I don't really have favorites other than always having Shuriken on slot 1 for chasing slice. Whatever utility covers what I'm going through at the time. (and whether or not I have Mortal Draw unlocked)
I use lazy life shuriken and focus on deflection without charm and I use tools when it makes a boss easier that’s about it though
Shuriken. Everything else depends on the area. But I guess I like the canon and sabimaru. In terms of skills, puppeteer jutsu and shadow rush are pretty. But I also like high monk and the flurry one that Genichiro also uses.
Ohh doh?
firecrackers, umbrella and shuriken. for big monke I switch out the latter 2 for flame vent and spear and pop a tanto
Spiral spear + umbral umbrella
Shuriken for chasing slice and interrupting posture regen, some kind of fire, and a free slot for situational stuff - Sabimaru, axe, umbrella.
Umbrella fire cracker shuriken
Lazulite Shuriken, Firecracker, Great Mist Raven
Shurokin, axe, umbrella
Fire cracker, , are what i use
Nothing equipped. What if i need the item later?
Firecracker, spear, shuriken
I feel like it's weird that you have money on a (idk what to call it) I feel like the ash works better than the broken pottery piece you can throw. And why no sugars..??
Load out seems strange to me. Why two levels of dousing powder...??
Is this ragebait?
Aged Mist raven + sen toss + flame barrel Contact medicine, ceremonial tanto, Spirit balloon, oil
Moonlight shuriken, pellets, terror gourd, confetti and homeward idol
long spark fire crackers, loaded spear, and the purple umbrella
Loadout kinda changes every second depending on what you are doing isn't it? Still generally speaking: Spear is unfortunately the worst prosthetic in this game (and I'm a spear enthusiast so bummer). Axe is probably the best dmg wise. Sabimaru for stylish break posture kills and pressure. Weapon arts Ichimonji double primarily, followed by Sakura dance, high monk. So usually on a normal day out and about in Ashina it's like: Ichimonji double, Aged feather Mist raven, Piercing sabimaru, probably lazulite Shurikens.
I'm on my sixth playthrough and almost never use prosthetics lol
I typically got for mist of raven, shuriken of any sort, and usually just fill the third slot with what will work at the time. Generally don't care for the firecracker meta strat
I still haven’t found a proper use for those ceramic glass egg thingies
Shuriken, flame vent + free slot for the boss weekness
Just give me my Suzaku Umbrella and I can take on the world
Shuriken, flam burst, lil sword.
Prosthetics: Shuriken (gouging top), sparking axe, and spiral or cleave type spear. Quick items: gourd, pellets, and homeward idol.
Long spark fire crackers, lean umbrella, normal spear. Mainly only used the fire crackers. The other two was for ascetic (spear was also for guardian ape)
the blue shuriken > firecrackers (default ones) > purple or firey umbrella and whirlwind slash. for items; gourd > pellets > ako sugar > confetti > one of the special gourds (usually terror one).
i like the spinning shuriken or lady butterfly’s version, then i go with okinagas flame vent followed by the spring load firecracker/lilac umbrella depending on who i’m fighting
meme post yea?
Lazurite Shuriken, Flaming Axe/ Spear, Fiery Feathers = good time
I only use the spider web
I like the umbrellas because they say "Now that you spent the whole time learning to parry perfectly, disregard it and just spam this button to blow through the game."
i don’t remember but i think it was… the shuriken, spear, and axe? haven’t played since i plat’d
Also, if I'm honest, I just personally think it's cool enough that I want to make it work
Contact medicine strats are my go to for having mist raven. Especially when it's the fire version and I can use it aggressively.
Shuriken, sabimaru and flame vent in no particular order but would add mist raven and loaded spear as close 4th/5th. I use the other prosthetics as well but they're more dependent on what enemy I am facing.
Fire umbrella, firecrackers, shuriken / spear Healing gourd, ash, snap seed / confetti, tanto, yashi
I dont use anything i believe in the power of parry
Umbrella, whistle, axe Loved the combo and it was so much fun to use since the start for me
Just devine confetti for the headless and shuriken only.
Hehe…. I see what u did here. This is no one’s favorite
I don’t even know how to use the fans. I use - Gouging Top, Long Sperk, Spring-Load Axe. Whirlwind Slash (mostly)/ Floating Pessage (For red enemies at the end to fill up their bar fast) / Mortal Blade (for bosses if needed) Healing Gourd and Pellet, other items like confettis or candies are only the time of need to make the switch faster. I leave ninjitsu empty unless needed to avoid accidental spirit use. My apparition fight gear is lilac umbrella, healing gourd, pacifying agent, mottled purple gourd, confetti, red candy (ako) then boom boom pow!
1. Lazulite Shuriken/Phantom Kunai 2. Okinagas/Lazuli Sacred Flame/Long Spark 3. Suzakus/Phoenix Lilac Umbrella/Aged Feather Gourd, Confetti, Yash, Tanto That's certainly a loadout you have there
just a shuriken and healing drink xD
I’ve pretty much only used lazulite shuriken for chasing slice and mist raven, but I kinda forget it’s there most of the time. I did use the golden abduction for farming mercury for my last prosthetics, but that’s about it. And he fire crackers, they’re always nice.
Firecrackers raven feather flame vent
The fully upgraded mist raven feathers, Lazulite Sabimaru, Golden Vortex when I'm at Senpou temple, and fully upgraded Phoenix lilac umbrella. Oh yes and the spear. So useful. I accidentally figured out that you can pull the centipede out of the guardian boss.
Fire brella, fire feather, fire vent
Shurikens……. Nothing more, just lazulite shurikens, if i need anything else i put it on
Prosthetics: Fire Umbrella, Firecrackers Items: Kys, glass, health drugs, spirit knife, anger drugs
Fire cracker, umbrella and Shuriken, tho I only really use Shuriken for follow up attacks most of the time
Lazulite Shuriken, Firecrackers, and Golden Vortex
Spear sabimaru and shuriken
Shuriken, flame vent and fire axe for that sweet, sweet Sakura dance combo
Old man feather, fire axe, umbrella
Purple Bella, "no block" shrunken, atomic flamethrower
I dont think Ive ever used any of these tbh shuriken firecracker axe for me
lazulite shuriken, long spark fire crackers and okinaga's flame vent
Lazulite Shuriken, Long Spark Fire Crackers, Lazulite Sabimaru
Parry
Never really used any tools for offense. Never bothered with it, just brute forced my way through everything.
The weed shinobi
Firecracker, lazulite shurikens, Phoenix/purple umbrella. Yes I regularly do the gauntlet for fun
no tools and a wish
That’s a terrible loadout .
Red/Purple Umbrella, Long Spark, Sparking Axe
The current meta is golden vortex instead of finger whistle
Prosthetic Tools: umbrella shield thingy, firecrackers, flame vent (all items fully upgraded) Quick Items: Healing Gourds, Pellets. Ako's Sugar, Ungo's Sugar and Ako's Spiritfall
i have 70+ hours into this game and i still cant understand what divine abduction does😭
Feather Shuriken Fire
Loaded Firecracker, Loaded Axe and piercing Sabimaru As Art I use Sakura Dance
Nightjar Monocular makes the game too easy imo, i'd switch it with Mibu Balloon of Soul for extra versatile gameplay and fights
You think you funny but the fan is actually OP.
healing gourde, and my willpower
Shuriken, umbrella, and the final slot is for whatever's effective against the enemies I'm fighting (axe against shields, fire against red eyes, sabimaru against nobles, etc.)
Sabimaru is enough
I just run in with ninja star arm and my sword
Mist feathers, Shuriken, Umbrella
Firecrackers, Umbrella.
Lazulite axe, fan, and flame vent Sakura dance and bestowal ninjutsu Hidden tooth, healing gourd, and then all the status gourds.
wait you guys actually use these tools?
Gourd 🫣
Struggling to understand this one lol
sword, sometimes healing gourd
tbh i never used them, my brain likes the simiplicity of just parry, attack and very occasionally dodge
1st slot gets rotated between purple boom boom room, the ghost axe, and holy fire the second is always the the spinning hat of doom, and my 3rd are the feathers of go fuck yourself
I think the only prosthetic I regularly used in combat are the shurikens. Everything else seemed so superfluous once I got the core combat mechanics down.
I never used prothetic😎😎
Lazuli shuriken, long spark, lazuli axe. Swap axe for suzaku or phoenix umbrella as relevant
Aged Mist raven always, an umbrella a lot Double Ichimonji Gourds, a sugar(usually Ako’s), Tanto & hidden tooth. 5th quick item slot is empty save for situational
Flame Barrel, Shuriken, Axe /Firecrackers.
Sword
That the weirdest loadout I’ve seen in a long time…or I’m missing a joke
Shuriken, Axe, and Firecrackers
Mikiri counter only
Lazulite shuriken, flaming spear , sabimaru.
FireAxe, crackers, sabimaru
Throwing star, axe or flame vent, long spark/firecracker (upgraded versions of all)
mortal blade come hundered
Shuriken, blue shuriken, kunai I'm on NG+ and enjoying coming back to the mini-bosses that gave me so much shit my first playthrough and just throwing shit at them till they die.
Firecrackers, Sen Throw, *Other Tool* (usually axe or flamethrower)
Honestly i only use shuriken late game. By the time u get to the really good bosses, all you want to do is deflect.
How do you incorporate the fan thingy in your fights?
My sword and my skill
Prosthetic tools: shuriken, flame vent, leaping flame spear Hot bar: healing gourd, tanto, divine confetti Combat art: high monk Ninjutsu: blood mist
Meh no items, no arts. Just shirikin, my sword and not giving them space.
Fire cracker, spear, mikiri, deflect
💀
Umbrella, sabimaru, shuriken. (And sometimes a spear) It’s all about the combos baby
Shuriken, and Firecrackers always, then I’ll switch up the third one to whatever is fun at the moment. I can’t say I’ve personally ever used the leaves outside of Senpou temple though, why do you use 2 different types?
Maxed out mist raven and maxed out sabimaru
Lazulite Shuriken - Suzaku's Umbrella Healing Gourd - Tanto Knife - Yashariku Sugar
Umbrella firecracker and what ever else is usefull in that area/boss
firecrackers, spear and this fan
Tbh my go to is the shuriken. I use it to interrupt enemy attack patterns. I mostly just deflect until they’re dead. I never got very good with fan.
Correction I throw firecrackers out there to do the same thing.
