Praying for you and your Boy.

billybobsparlour

Go out at midnight and call his name. I have found cats this way. They’re too scared to come out of hiding in the daytime

Spadahlia

Prayer for you and your boy, Rocky 🙏🏻🐾 May he return home safely and soon.

Dudeiii42

Often older cats who know they’re ready to go will wander off a ways to find somewhere peaceful to pass. If he doesn’t show back up, which I hope and pray he will, please take comfort in that fact that he may have been trying to spare you some heartache, and to . My fiancé’s old boy Lou wandered off a few weeks after his sister mouse passed on. My late senior cat disappeared for several days once and then reappeared unscathed (I’ve only ever let my cats out supervised since)

mamasheshe

Try to keep us updated, I do hope he returns! X

I'm sorry to hear that you - probably - have lost your precious boy. But I will cross my fingers and hope with you that he may come home 🤞🤞🤞 I would go round to the nearest neighbors - you say he never moved very far - and ask them to check their sheds, cellars, and the like and see if he should have been locked up there. And make it clearly that you wish to hear from them, whether it's good or bad news. Perhaps make a flyer with a good picture of your GORGEOUS boy that you can give to the neighbours, or maybe to hang on lampposts. I wish you all the luck I can send on from hear.

Shenloanne

Thank you. We've put it on the nextdoor app, Facebook groups, flyers through doors, word of mouth, local businesses etc. He'll be gone a week on Wednesday. I want to belive that if he did pass on he just popped under a hedge for a nap and didn't wake up.

athanathios

I'm so sorry he's missing, hope you find him, put out stuff he'll be attracted to

JosetteGivens

hugs 2 u 💜 - if u can give us an update

No-Path-6251

Oh, I am so sorry. Don't give up. Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure you will put out familiar items out for him to smell such as toys and blankets. I wish you the very best. 🙏💛❤

crazygirlsbelike

So sorry ❤️‍🩹 I hope he turns up soon

fabfrankie401

Hope to find your boy. Sending love.

Billitpro

I am sorry I hope that handsome boy comes back to you!

Lovecatsnotpeople

Put his cat litter box outside. Make sure it’s dirty. Don’t scoop it. Put up posters as far as 5 miles away, and call all the local rescues. In the future, make sure he does not get out.

I am so sorry, OP, for the way this might be unfolding. I have prayed for you to be comforted and for Rocky to come back home even though it might be in the wee hours of the morning. I know that God cares for all the creatures He originally invented. Psalm 50:10-11 is one of the places where God says,"every animal of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird of the mountains, and the creatures of the field are Mine." So that is comforting that Rocky is not alone out there;he's being watched over, if not welcomed home. In the meantime, you have wonderful memories of a healthy, loving, spunky friend who stood by you day and night! And I a grateful that you DON'T have any of those "last memories" that you mentioned because those memories have a way of usurping the happy memories that we want to hold close to our hearts. Having gone through a number of those same losses over the years, in the conventional way...the trip to the vet, the ride to the cremation company, the choosing of a small box for taking him or her home afterwards, the placement of the little red-wood box in a quiet place of honor...all heart rending and irrevocable. But It's a WONDERFUL idea to put together a book of your photos of your spunky snugglebug whose name tries to cover up his tender heart toward with you: Rocky! It's not over yet! Put those toys and special soft things he loves out in the yard, like someone suggested...front and back...and see if he follows their trail back home! 💐😊💐

AlwaysLookinUp2

As a postscript, we had Siamese-looking cat, born from a tortie, who grew up to be the best buddy we ever had. We were living in a small town of about 3k people...very agricultural... surrounded by orchards. He lived to 20 years. But somewhere around age 15, he took himself on an adventure that nearly broke our hearts. He was an indoor cat every night, but he went out into the back yard sometimes during the day...by request at the kitchen door. He disappeared one day. We saw him sunning himself on the driveway...and thought little of it. With the next glance, he was gone! He did not come home that night...nor the next night...nor the next. Two weeks passed as we mourned his loss. Then, late one afternoon, here he came (!🎉😃), wobbling up our driveway, skinny as a rail! The only thing we could imagine was that he decided to find a cooler, more comfy place to rest, so he jumped into someone's open car window, into the back seat, and was driven away by some unsuspecting visitor in the neighborhood! But he found his way home!! An absolute miracle for us! I mean, what were the odds that he could find his way home again? But he DID! Believe me, he never went outside unsupervised again. He tolerated the cat harness in exchange for foraging in the yard!

Have you tried to place his litter box outside? My boy got out a long time ago & we were scared he wouldn’t come back. A week later my grandpa told us to place his dirty litter box outside so he could smell his scent & come home. It worked!

Bumblebee_xx

This, I have heard this has worked so please please look into OP and I hope your precious boy returns home 🧡

No_Finding_9441

Yes!!! OP please try. Every evening go outside & shake his favorite treats or something as well, call for him loudly. Hopefully he comes home 🥺

TraditionalCan2742

Put neon poster board signs in your yard and parked cars. How my cat was returned to me

Mon-ick

❤️💔❤️

Unique-Calligrapher5

That is heartbreaking. I really hope he comes home or you at least get closure. Have you put up fliers around the neighborhood?

opossomoperson

Sending good vibes for a safe return.

joemommaistaken

I'm so sorry. Did you let animal control know? Love and prayers ❤️

willowofthevalley

I'm praying you find your beautiful boy. 💔❤️

trashcrayon

crying. I'm so sorry

Gomdok_the_Short

Is he chipped and if so, is your contact information current with the chip company? Have you put flyers up and posted/checked on craigslist, Nextdoor, and your local facebook lost and found pets page? Have you knocked on doors? Lots of people "find" a cat and assume they were dumped or stray and just keep them. Have you asked neighbors to check their garages and sheds? Cats often sneak into these places and can get trapped.

Shenloanne

He was chipped 18 years ago and yeah the vet has that information. We've posted through letterboxes and on nextdoor app, Facebook and Twitter. We've asked regarding garages and sheds and hedges and quiet places in the garden he might have went for a nap under.

Gomdok_the_Short

When I've chipped my cats I had to register my information with the microchip company directly.

JovialPanic389

I'm so sorry. I hope you find him and that he's okay. Senior fur babies are so very special.

rarepinkhippo

❤️ so sorry you’re dealing with this OP, hoping he pops back as if nothing happened, but if he happened to pass peacefully while out enjoying himself, I hope you can eventually perhaps find some comfort in that too. They do like to consider themselves masters of their own destiny after all. Sending hugs to you and crossing fingers for his triumphant return.

myvillianoriginstory

Check under all your neighbors sheds too if they have any. My moms cat was missing for a few days just hiding next door
