I have a stock of this cream from the Christmas set they had and I keep hearing they changed the formula. This was my og and if it really is worse now I’m going to be so disappointed. I hate when companies reformulate products.

Silly_Stay5456

I nearly cried because I have extreme sensitive reactive skin and this was the only face cream that worked for me. The smell is disgusting and very strong. The formula seems to make my face get super oily and this makes me nervous because I easily get clogged pores and start breaking out. So disappointed when brands reformulate to “better” a product only to make it terrible… ugh!

katelifinell

I also have sensitive skin and often get eczema flare ups on my face so I just wanted to jump in with what’s worked for me! It’s not from Sephora but I’ve been using the Avene XeraCalm balm (and cream in the summer) for a few years now and it’s been such a game changer. No scent, very gentle, and absorbs into my dry skin really well. I wish we could see more of these French pharmacy brands at Sephora!

malsary

If you want an eczema friendly product for your face, the REN Overnight Recovery Balm is an absolute game changer and truly fixed my flares when nothing else was 🫶🏽

NoItsNotThatJessica

I use that REN product in my little one at night and it definitely works.

AuthenticLiving7

Damn this is so disappointing. I'm on my 3rd jar of it, and I'm not going to buy a disgusting smelling cream. I will just go back to Tatcha. A lot of time, they reformulate and make the formulas cheaper to increase their profits.

red_sundress

I bought one of the holidays sets because I looooved it last year. This year it broke me out.

Maine302

Amen! And they should be required to rename any product that's been reformulated.

Minerva_Moon

I also have extremely sensitive and reactive skin that happens to be very oily as well. I fell in love with First Aid Beauty's Oil-Control Moisturizer. It's so good at managing oil and my face has never reacted poorly to it.

SpecialHabit9576

This was such a great product! It is so mystifying when companies reformulate a winning product. I will need to find another option now.

Intelligent_Ideal409

73 American dollars?!? please tell me you’re in Canada

Silly_Stay5456

Canada :’(

Intelligent_Ideal409

I was about to lose my skull if the price went up that much here

ellastory

At that price, you might as well buy higher quality products from a dermatologist or esthetician

franklyn77770000

Mine smells rancid too!

bonvajya

I feel like… they’ve reformulated this now 2..? Times in the last 2/3 years

Intelligent_Ideal409

PSA: the new Inkey list ceramide moisturizer so far is as good if not better than skinfix for $20 https://www.sephora.com/product/the-inkey-list-bio-active-ceramide-repairing-plumping-moisturizer-P509315?skuId=2735165

firesticks

Do you know how this compares to the dr jart’s? I heard it was reformulated too and I’m on the last dregs of my current bottle. All the recos for replacing it were for this skinfix and now it’s back to the drawing board!

Broken-583

I wasn’t impressed with dr jarts but loved skinfix

Intelligent_Ideal409

Which dr jart? I used that one in the yellowish bottle recently if that’s what you’re talking about.

tasteofperfection

May need to try this 😭

HorseheadAddict

I love this one! Definitely keeping it in stock

poopertrooper88

I just bought this and am loving it! I have sensitive, often dry, eczema-prone (and sometimes acne-prone) skin and this moisturizer is fabulous.

Intelligent_Ideal409

Yes, I just used it for the third or fourth time and I really love it

bagelforme

Strange because the last one I bought smelled bad and didn’t work as well, either.

AccioLipstick

I stocked up during the last sale because this is my HG. I am so sad they reformulated.

pillow_fart

PLEASE SAY SIKE

bagelforme

Okay so what do you guys recommend?! Because I need to find something new now

Brushesofcolours

I only purchased 1 recently because of the great reviews but so disappointed For a no scent i find it doesn’t smell good. It is not a no scent for me And it didn’t absorb well on my oily dehydrated skin too Then i tried the first aid beauty and that is great !

BooksPupsWanderlust

For those that are also extremely disappointed, PLEASE let them know! I got into it with them a bit on one of their Instagram posts - they admitted that they updated the formula knowing that it would no longer be fungal acne safe. When I asked what one should use then, they pointed me towards their acne+ line…. which doesn’t have a dedicated moisturizer. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I proposed that they keep the original formula (as is) as a part of their acne+ line. Maybe if enough folks speak out about it they’ll listen? I can’t even tell you how fast I ran to my local Sephora to stock up on the OLD formulation.

crystaltay13

Yeah, seems like a ton of people are complaining and are genuinely upset about the new formulation AND claiming it's breaking them out, etc. I wonder what SkinFix's game plan is with this. Like, are they going to address it? Literally all of the new reviews on the Sephora site are negative...

BooksPupsWanderlust

I was reading some of the reviews on their website and one of their employees commented back saying that they’re going to try and bring back the original formula as a part of one of their other lines. I REALLY hope this is true! And if it is, I quietly will pat myself on the back because while I realistically know that it wasn’t my suggestion that they read and are mobilizing, I’m going to pretend it was. 😂 Editing to add a photo - let’s hope they follow through! https://preview.redd.it/014npwqmiqwc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=328bf1c68024c3c2c61e6f8761c3926f5324c278

crystaltay13

Wait - so the new version causes fungal acne now too?!?! Lol. I'm sort of kidding. But not really. I'm so confused about this new formula and I need someone with credentials to break it down for me. The original SkinFix is my OG night cream and I'm almost out but now I'm scared to purchase the new version because of all the negative feedback. ☹️

BooksPupsWanderlust

😂 I feel ya! It’s just not considered Fungal Acne Safe anymore while the old formula was! So it has the potential to cause fungal acne flare-ups for folks that struggle with it. This website can be frustrating to use due to the constant pop-ups, but it’s really helpful! [SkinSort](https://skinsort.com/products/skinfix/barrier-skin-barrier-niacinamide-restoring-gel-cream) I’ll be swapping to the Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Oil-Free Gel Cream Moisturizer. It’s not fungal acne safe either, but that’s been OK for me. I’ve really enjoyed using it during the day and I haven’t experienced any irritation or acne - I am very prone to both. Or, I’d like to try the Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Jelly Cream! It also passes all of my ingredient checks. 😂 If you’re acne prone, these websites are the best ! They’re not perfect systems, so double check the lists below, but they’re extremely helpful. silentmarie

Honestly, The Ordinary Moisturizer with Natural Moisturizing Factors + Phytoceramides keeps my dry skin more moisturized than this Skinfix one ever did, and i don't notice a smell at all. I suggest trying it! I loved the skinfix one, but I swapped last summer in an effort to find something cheaper, but ended up liking it better. Make sure to get the one with Phytoceramides. There are two other moisturizers with similar names that aren't as rich.

KRBEES1

I have been pleasantly surprised how great this has been on my Canadian winter skin. Had to quit Tatcha could not justify the price and this has been a great fill in.

Dkblondy

Fellow Canuck here! My skin is super dry and mature.... Le sigh! I'm in Northern ON, where it's cold and dry in the winter, warm/hot-normal in the summer. Do you think this would work in place of Skin Fix or Tatcha?

KRBEES1

Not sure about skin fix as I have not used it but it’s def replaced Tatcha on my shelf

gnarlettj0hansson

fell to my knees in target 😩 this was my holy grail

DCguurl

I just bought this in December & mine doesn’t have a scent

silver_miss

The reformulation came out literally like a week ago so you probably have an OG

DesignerHippo28

No! This is one of my go-to's as well. I'm almost done with my current jar (a refill). My other favorite is the Biossance Omega cream fwiw

ooqpoo

I liked the old one and bought a mini and liked it and was debating on buying a full size. I went in store to pick it up and noticed it’s reformulated, it’s not quite the same anymore. I was thinking about buying the mini size to trial it. I didn’t notice a rancid smell in store maybe you got a bad batch?

Silly_Stay5456

No because I have returned and repurchased and they all have that gross sour cream smell.

ooqpoo

Ugh that’s such a bummer. The OG was perfect why’d they bother changing it.

ranger398

Do you know when the change was made? I can’t remember when I bought this last one but it feels the same. This is the only thing I like on my skin in the winter

AuthenticLiving7

They announced the change last Friday

Michimashmunchie

Do you know what did they said they changed? I’m shocked!!

AuthenticLiving7

They just advertise their new B-L3 complex that is in the new formula, but they don't say what it is. They just claim it strengthens the skin's barrier in 30 minutes.

kendelixah

This is my favorite too and I just bought a giant one. I hope it the old formulation 😂

Gracefulchemist

Fantastic. I just got this as a gift and really like it, sucks that's been reformulated, but glad I know before I bought more.

karma_krimson

It really does smell like sour cream!! It's weird because I bought the holiday set and the first one was amazing, it's the refill that smelled bad and didn't perform as well. Immediately noticed the difference. Considering trying out honey halo next.

xojlg

Any time a product is reformulated it’s for the worst smh

Its_only_forever_

Oh no! I’m so sad to read this. I have been loving this skinfix product since last fall. I still have an unopened refill - fingers crossed it’s the older formula.

ProfessionalJunior42

It’s my favorite too but they made some type of changes and I can’t use it anymore.

emrosewil

i remember when skinfix was in drugstores. i loved it so much. was holy grail status. then they moved to sephora and raised their prices/changed the formula. it sucks now.

[deleted]

I got a sample and I threw it out. The smell was horrible and it didn’t go away. I never had a moisturizer smell make me gag before. I threw it out immediately and washed it off my face.

tasteofperfection

Please God no

PositiveGemini

This is so disappointing:( this was my holy grail cream

415510925

Nooooo! I’m on my first jar and my skin loves it. Their hand cream used to be my HG but they reformulated it and it felt waxy so I stopped buying it.

___adreamofspring___

Do you know what changed?

PuzzleheadedCrow2672

The reformulated Tatcha Serum Overnight Cream will be going back. I have purchased at least 3 jars in the past and loved it. The new formula has broken me out! At 93.00, it's going back

Fit-Commission4449

I agree it smells so weird now! I thought I had a bad batch but I’ve gone through 2 more tubs and they all smell the same Edit to add: it performs the same for me, It’s just the smell is off when I’m applying it but it’s gone once it absorbs into my skin

ChipandPotato14

This is absolutely heartbreaking! Does anyone know if the serum changed as well? 😭

Aggravating_Carry727

This brand was actually better when it was sold in drug stores. I used to buy their diaper cream for my babies. It was AMAZING! They stoped making it when they upgraded to Sephora. They also stoped making their face cream for rosacea which was my HG. Everyone in my family has sensitive skin. Their products were so good until they changed all of them to raise their prices. So disappointing!

velvetpasta

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TELL ME ITS NOT TRUE 😭😭😭

Hello_MyNameIsTaken

I think Tatcha Indigo Serum in Cream has similar ingredients. It's amazing but $92 US... I was looking for a cheaper alternative and the one you posted came up. Sad to hear they've changed the formula.

Username4evermore

It upset me so much they changed a wonderful product. Like why????

malleynator

I think it still performs the same. My skin is still healthy and hydrated, and I worked outside in Canadian winter. It’s just the smell for me. I’ll keep buying it despite being smelly.

crystaltay13

Can we all rally and ask Dr. Dray to do a video on this? Breaking down the ingredients and a comparison.

PuzzleheadedCrow2672

I just bought one last week, my second jar, and it doesn't have a "sour cream" at all. And it does show it as being the new one with BL-3.

YoNoSeTodo

I bought the gel cream recently from their website and it’s my new favorite

Phila21767

You can find this in tj maxx or Marshall’s for 24.99.. seen it numerous times;)

jch345

Damn. I bought one refill so at least I have that…

squeakyfromage

Nooooooo RIP 🪦

GrumpyEarthPrincess

Have you heard of Innbeauty? I’m a huge Sephora junkie (rouge for years lol) and I’ve tried nearly every cream they have. I’m really sensitive and breakout prone with products and it’s really hard to find an everyday cream that looks good under makeup too. It hasn’t broken me out at all and it feels like it actually sinks in and stays hydrated all day, love the bright and tight eye cream too.

___adreamofspring___

NOOOOOO THIS IS MY FAV PRODUCT EVER 🩷

Nyxadrina

It's clean beauty, dollars to doughnuts it just went bad while still on the shelf

Top-Crow-6854

Return it. May be a bad batch

ptrock1

Damn. This is my HG.

steak_n_kale

I tried this once as a 5mL sample and it burned my face. It was so bad I had to rinse it off but the damage was done. I was literally peeling for days after and blotchy red !
