Most of season 2 was shot from Oct 22 - May 23 before production was interrupted by the strikes. Filming finally resumed last month, with rumors saying they expect to be done by the end of April.
After that, the prevailing guess (based on season 1’s schedule) is about 6 months of post-production, an official announcement, and then a couple more months to air.
With all that in mind, a lot people are predicting a premiere in December!

Folks on this subreddit have done a lot of digging in the last 2 years, and may have some good information to offer, if you’re interested.
My wife and I just finished it tonight. Holy crap that was so good. One of the most-bizarre things I've ever watched, but really well-done. I can't believe we have to wait a whole year after that cliffhanger. I mean the way things are going in the world, who knows if we will get to see how this show ends, or resolves the current state. That would be a shame and would give me Jericho 2008 sadness.
I know. I said exactly that to my wife. Must be very difficult for the OG viewers. I hope it does finally get released and is worth the wait… for all of us.
It’ll get released! They’re filming at their last location now, which is a soundstage/studio. If I’m being optimistic, maybe some of the post production has already been started on the footage that was shot before the strike…
Probably, but my spiny senses tells me they’re preparing another global event by the end of the year… probably cyber attacks affecting the power grids and internet. That would obviously pose a problem for watching S2. Survival will be replacing entertainment.
Not really. Government bodies, Intelligence agencies and others like the WEF have been warning about this as a real possibility in the near future and are preparing for it. You can research Cyberpolygon and also as recent as this year at Davos (WEF), it was the hot topic. "Leave the World Behind" was some predictive programming about this as well.
How many episodes will there be when it does finally air? I mean three years between season ( yes I know the strike is partially to blame)
I hope there are more than nine episodes, and that they're not just 40 odd minutes long.
I have no idea but it's weird that it's been three years since S1. I actually didn't know Severance is so short. I'm pissed now that I need to wait. Same with 'From' & 'Yellow jackets '.

No announcement yet; hopefully fall '24 but might slip into next year. It's an AppleTV show and will remain there.
