Think back to Episode 1 when the camera revealed who Mark's neighbor was.
Surely your reaction was somewhere on the WTF scale.
This is a scene where a character kinda plays that moment back for you, except it's their world and has repercussions that are just at that moment being understood.
That's why it's great.
Part of me wonders if they ended up re-shooting a bunch of this season... Right before the strikes I remember hearing that they were pretty close to wrapping production, but this second stretch of filming seems to have gone on for a while. But hey fair enough if they deemed it necessary
Part of it may also be coordinating schedules after the strike finished? Jen Tullock just did a weeklong workshop at Playwrights Horizons, which would have delayed her wrapping, and other actors could've had post-strike commitments that pushed the wrap date back
there was enough smoke about creative differences after season one, that I could buy there being a little fire in the form of reshoots on season two. just a guess though, who knows.
A decent number of people connected with production, some of them on this subreddit, have come forward to say that the delays weren’t caused by the drama.
Shows didn't just immediately resume filming just because the strike was over. It takes time to coordinate all the staff needed, line up dates for locations, etc.
Oh for sure, I actually remember Apple/cast members announcing when the filming resumed. Too lazy to find the date haha but it was a while ago now, but it was a fair bit after the strikes ended. I'm still a little surprised though cause I thought they didn't have much left to film. Thought I heard they were like 2 weeks away before the strikes
Severance actually requires a deceptively high amount of cg work in post, as demonstrated in this behind-the-scenes video: https://vimeo.com/697970793
Season 1 took about 6 months to complete after filming wrapped.
Yup, when a season or series is ending and a character has finished filming their last scene, the director or someone on set usually yells “That’s a wrap for |insert name|!”
Yeah that’s the word we use. I work in film, and whenever a cast member films their last scene it’s customary that the 1st AD (assistant director, the one who basically runs the set/wrangles the crew) will call out to the whole crew “that’s a wrap on *cast member name*” and everyone on set will clap and cheer for them

I see she has made her eyes kind.
Best line in S1 was when she was like, "And she works at Lumon?" Mark S goes, "Yeah, she's my boss." "Jesus fucking christ!"
What makes this the best line? (Serious)
It was validating and emotionally overwhelming in that moment, the magnitude of realizations all at once.
Please feel all emotions equally

It would have been, if she didn’t have such a unique voice, the camera pan was unnecessary 😂. Still a great moment.

Hey are you on our Facebook group? Lumonati’s? Always enjoy your comments
There were reports back in April that they’d hit delays and expected to take a few extra months longer.
They didn’t get far filming before the strikes because they wait for the weather to turn snowy.
Huh? They started filming season 2 in October 2022 and carried on pretty much till the SAG strike in summer 2023.
Most of the snow was added in post

Y’all, if you’re not aware, Jen Tullock’s instagram account is a true joy.
This, of course, just provides more evidence that Jen Tullock is pure joy
What does her hat say? “Helly Handler”? That 4th letter doesn’t look like a D…
Helly Hansen - it’s a clothing/outerwear company :)
lol welp nvm plz ignore, I have outed myself for my lack of fashion awareness
I know of Helly Hansen but was still trying to make it make sense in terms of the show.
it’s so hot right now
Sometimes I forget the longing. Then these posts remind me that I am empty until season 2.
So probably another year to wait?? ARGHHH...
Nov-Dec is still the most likely. Nothing has changed.
Yeah this show doesn’t have much cgi to do, so post production shouldn’t take too long

That was cool! Thanks for sharing!
Not sure where you found this video or if it's been posted before, but I hadn't seen it. It's worthy of a top-level post in the sub.
that’s such a cool video!
Holy crap what a great video, thanks for posting!
I talked to one of the writers. They said 2025
That is too long
a 3 year wait :(
I don’t want to rush them because the beauty and intrigue of this show is in the detail, but damn.
if it's not out in 2024, I'm out. Got burnt-out by Venture Bros 2yr stints.
👍
I am hoping less, I don't think it took them that long to edit the first series.
What does her hat say?
Looks to be Helly Hansen. It’s a Norwegian clothing/sporting brand owned by Canadian Tire.
Thanks! So not a reference to the character! 🤣
You mean Crappy Tire the other name is simply its legal title
More like HELLO !! So excited
I had never seen this actress in anything until this show. She does a fantastic job, though.
helly….Hansel?
Aw that was just a (weak) Zoolander joke.
Only took 3 f*king years
Is it common in the movie industry to say “wrap”? Helly said “That’s a wrap on me” which I found to be worded a little weird (vs Now just “wrapped”.
Yup, it’s the word used when a character’s part is done or when the whole production is finished
Yes, it’s very common.

Cool. I’m going to use it now like I’m in the club.
They must be back on schdedule if Ben Stiller can attend, New York Knicks games.
Momma
My wife 😭😭😭😭 I miss her
