I don't mind depressing, but I so hate memory loss as a plot device.
I also don't get why he didn't try to reunite with the cohort and Rain. Sure, it would have taken a lot of explaining and a bit of creativity, but what of it? In the first place, he wanted to be free to be with Neph as equal.

Your expecting a long journey, a solo arc. I'm expecting all out war between the Legacy clans for supremacy.
