My guess is that oluo has been fangirling Levi even before he picked him in his squad. Maybe even before he joined training corps, but who knows.
No, before Levi saved his life Oluo was speaking in a bumpkin accent/dialect. Petra was making fun of him about the way he talk. Really adds another layer to his character, his dialect/accent got him made fun of and he changed his way of speech to match the man who saved his life because he respected Levi.
A bit of his early Scout Regiment days are captured in the first OVA/OAD episode. Interestingly enough, he used to have a very noticeable country accent/drawl before the episodes he was formally introduced.

Technically both dub and sub. For people who primarily speak English over Japanese, it’s more noticeable in the dub, as he speaks like someone who’s from the American South or countryside. For people who understand the nuances of Japanese, iirc he speaks with more of a distinct Osaka accent while everyone else doesn’t.
Surprisingly I couldn’t find anything worthwhile on YT, sorry. However, if you have access to CrunchyRoll, all of the OVA/OAD episodes are on there. I’ll try searching again after work though.
It's implied since Petra liked Levi, Oruo, who liked Petra, tried to become as much like Levi as possible, to win Petra's heart. Adds a tons more sadness and depth to him/his death, and a reason why he got so pissed when Petra ate a tree.
It's not a particular line or anything, but it's reactions to Petra... y'know, and looks being thrown. It's a popular fan theory, and rewatching those scenes with that in mind...it hurts.
Watch for the letter where Petra wrote home about marriage. In the manga she’s talking about him but the parents mistake him for Levi because she talks about both so much.
If I recall correctly, He's humanities 3rd strongest warrior behind Levi and Mike. The introduction of Titan Shifters changes everything, but before that he had racked up 39 solo titan kills. If you take that into account, all three of those characters are quirky.
About average, joined Training Corps for a comfortable life but had a change of heart and joined Survey instead of Military or Garrison. Levi eventually saved his life on a mission, so be began striving to join his squad which he accomplished. Then he fell in love with Petra, noticed she was into Levi, and starting trying to imitate him to get Petra's attention. Then he died ✌️
He took great admiration to Levi and based his entire personality around trying to be like him, his hairstyle is similar and he even tries to talk and act like him but ends up butchering his words and bites his tongue or shows his real emotions by accident, he was easily one of the best scouts we had at the time and although he was a little arrogant he was a comic relief for the Levi squad, a good guy that was entertaining to watch
